In order to study the effect of pulse Nd:YAG laser on hypersensitive dentin and inner wall of root canal. The morphologi- cal changes were observed with a SEM.The results showed that the low power with high energy density.Laser irradiation did not do harm to normal teeth tissue. The melted layer of dentin matrix extended to dentinal tubles, and the dentinal tubles were sealed to a depth of 15 um.The conventional preparation of root canal with laser irradiation provided much advantage in clearing the stained layer of inner wall in comparison with conwentional preparation of root canal alone.

Aim Subcortical ischemic vascular demen-tia ( SIVD ) induced by chronic hypoperfusion due to small-artery disease is a common cause of vascular de-mentia ( VaD) , which is recognized as the second most prevalent type of dementia. The aim of this study was to determine whether carnosine played a protective role in cognitive impairment induced by permanent occlu-sion of the right unilateral common carotid arteries ( rUCCAO ) in SIVD. Methods Adult male mice ( C57BL/6 strain ) were subjected to rUCCAO, and treated with carnosine or saline. Locomotor test, open field test, hot plate test, freezing test and Morris water maze were performed after rUCCAO. Results There were no differences among rUCCAO group, carnosine group and sham group for total distance traveled in lo-comotor test. In the open field test, carnosine (200, 500 mg · kg-1 ) significantly revised the decrease of latency spent in the center induced by SIVD . There were no differences between rUCCAO and sham groups for the pain threshold. In freezing test, rUCCAO in-duced a significant reduction in content memory, which was completely reversed by treatment of carnosine. In Morris water maze training trials, rUCCAO-treated mice showed prolonged escape latency in acquisition phase, carnosine ( 200, 500 mg · kg-1 ) markedly shortened the escape latency. Conclusion These data suggest that carnosine has a neuroprotective effect on cognitive impairment induced by rUCCAO in mice.

Objective To explore the effects of donor dendritic cells(DC)treated with Ad-IL- 12p35siRNA on the survival of allogragft recipients. Methods The recombinant adenoviral vectors carrying IL-12p35siRNA and HKsiRNA were transfected into bone marrow derived DC of BALB/C murine.C57BL/6 recipients were infused with DG(Ad-IL-12p35siRNA DC,Ad-HKsiRNA DC and control DC)from BALB/C donors 7 days before cardiac allograft, the survival time of murine and the change of T_H 1 and T_H2(IL-2,IL-4,IL-10 and IFN-?)cytokine were observed. Results The survival time of p35 group(20.17?2.71)days was longer than that of control group(7.81?1.61)days and HK group(7.17?1.60)days.The concentration of IL-2 and IFN-?in p35 group were significantly lower than those of control group and HK group, otherwise were the concentration of IL-4 and IL-10. Conclusion Pretreatment of dondor dendritic ceils with Ad-IL-12p35siRNA could prolonged cardiac allograft survival in recipicents.

Objective: To compare the effects of needle pricking therapy plus rotating-pulling manipulation and rotating-pulling manipulation on blood velocity, angiokinesis, and blood viscosity in patients with vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis(CSA),and discuss its mechanisms. Methods: 216 patients were randomly divided into 2 groups according to numeric representation,108cases in the treatment group were treated by needle pricking therapy plus rotating pulling manipulation, and 108 cases in the control group were treated by rotating pulling manipulation. The peak systolic blood velocity(Vpeak),end diastolic blood velocity(Vmin),pulsatile index(PI)and resistant index(RI)of the bilateral vertebral arteries(VA)and basilar arteries(BA)were examined by transcranial doppler sonography(TCD).The values of whole blood apparent viscosity and plasma viscosity of both groups were recorded. The indexes before and after treatment of both groups were compared. Results: The therapeutic effects of the above-mentioned indexes of the treatment group were significantly superior to those of the control group(P<0.05).In comparison with pre-treatment,the whole blood apparent viscosity(high, medium and low shear rates)and plasma viscosity of the treatment group post-treatment were obviously reduced(P<0.01,P<0.05).Conclusion: Needle pricking therapy combined with pulling-rotating manipulation can significantly improve VATCS patients' clinical symptoms, which may be closely related to its effects in lowering vascular blood resistance and blood viscosity and increasing cerebral blood supply.

A rapid, sensitive and convenient LC-MS/MS method was developed for the determination of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in human plasma. d2-γ-Aminobutyric acid (d2-GABA) was synthesized as internal standard (IS). After extraction from human plasma by protein precipitation with acetonitrile, all analytes were separated on a Luna HILIC column (100 mm x 3.0 mm, 3 μm) using an isocratic mobile phase of water: acetonitrile: formic acid (20 : 80 : 0.12) with a flow rate of 0.5 mL x min(-1). Acquisition of mass spectrometric data was performed in multiple reaction monitoring mode (MRM) in positive electrospray ionization using the transitions of m/z 104 --> 69 for GABA and m/z 106 --> 71 for d2-GABA. The method was linear in the concentration range of 5.00 to 1 000 ng x mL(-1). The intra- and inter-day precisions were within 9.9%, and accuracy ranged from 99.1% to 104%, within the acceptable limit across all concentrations. The method was successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic study of GABA tablets in healthy Chinese volunteers.

Chinese Journal of Digestive Endoscopy 2013;(1):25-27
Objective To evaluate the feasibility and indications of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) by analyzing the early gastric cancer cases. Methods All the pathological materials of radical gastric resections in Huashan hospital from 2007 to 2011 were retrieved and the EGC cases were selected. All the cases in EGC group which met the extended ESD criteria were reviewed.Extended ESD criteria were cited from Treatment guidelines for gastric cancer in Japan edited by JGCA in 2001.The risk factors relevant with regional metastasis, such as invasive depth and differentiation degrees, were also analysed. Results In the recent five years, there were 1159 cases of gastric cancer undergoing radical gastrectomy in Huashan hospital including 210 EGC.According to the extended criteria of JGCA,151 cases could be candidates for ESD while 126 cases could be candidates for ESD according to the typical criteria for ESD.The local metastases of lymphatic or vascular involvement for mucosa cancer, muscularis mucosae cancer,sm1 and sm2 cancer were 6.75%,15.00%,23.25%,and 39.62% respectively (P <0.05).Twenty-five cases had local metastases that met the extended criteria for ESD.Within the 210 EGC cases, the local metastases of differentiated type and undifferentiated type were 13.95% and 47.37% respectively (P < 0.05).Conclusion Most EGC cases undergoing radical gastrectomy can be cured by ESD.Its metastases are highly correlated with invasion depth and differentiation,so indications of ESD should be assessed.
