Objective:To introduce recent progress on diagnosis and treatment of benign symmetric lipomatosis(BSL).Method:Detailed clinical data of 6 patients with BSL were reviewed and analyzed. We present a summary of the clinical symptoms, physical sign, diagnosis and therapeutic methods of BSL. And related literatures were discussed together.Result:All of 6 patients have excessive subcutaneous fat deposit predominantly around neck. One patients had upper extremity localizations. Six patients had the complication of left ventricular diastolic function changes, glucose intolerance or diabetes mellitus, chronic hepatopathy, hyperuricemia and sleep apnea syndrome in one or more. One patients with several symptoms occur simultaneously, another one female patient was accompanied by all symptoms but chronic hepatopathy. Five male patient were alcohol abusers. Tatal neck lipentomy and abstinence from alcohol were performed on 5 patients. One patient refused treatment.During a follow-up of 3 months to 4 years, one patients was relapsed again, and no recurrence was seen in another 4 patients. All pathological results were nonencapsulated fat. Conclusion:BSL is a lipodystrophy caused by diffuse fatty tissue, symmetry deposition in the neck and shoulder subcutaneous fascia space or deep fascial space .The highest incidence favors to middle-aged man who is alcoholist. Chronic alcohol addiction and typical clinical symptoms help to diagnosis BSL. Lipectomy represents a successful procedure in treating BSL.

Objective To study the clinical application of the ITS and β-tubulin gene regions in identification of Aspergillus spp. Methods One hundred and twenty-four Aspergillus strains that isolated from fungal rhino-sinusitis specimens were collected in Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University from July 2007 to January 2010. They were identified by morphological and molecular methods. The first one included traditional culture, slide culture, and microscopic examination after lactophenol cotton blue stain and KOH digestion. The second one was amplifying and sequencing the part of ITS and β-tubulin gene and aligned all the sequences in the GenBank, European Molecular Biology Laboratory nucleotide sequence database, and DNA Data Bank of Japan. Results Of the 56 Aspergillus flavus identified by morphological features, fifty-five isolates were identified as Aspergillus flavus and 1 isolates was Aspergillus parasiticus by the ITS and β-tubulin gene region sequence analysis. In the 37 Aspergillus fumigatus identified by morphological method, and all the 37 isolates were identified as species complex of Aspergillus fumigatus by the ITS region sequence analysis, but through the sequence analysis of β-tubulin gene region, thirty-five isolates were identified as Aspergillus. fumigatus and 2 were Aspergillus lentulus. Twenty-one isolates were identified as Aspergillus versicolor by morphological method, but 16 of them were identified as Aspergillus. versicolor and 5 can not be identified to species level by the ITS region sequence. And by comparative-sequence analysis of β-tubulin gene region, the 5 isolates were identified as Aspergillus sydowii, the other 16 isolates were Aspergillus. versilcolor. Ten isolates were identified as Aspergillus nidulans by morphological features, the ITS and β-tubulin gene region sequence analysis. Conclusions β-tubulin gene sequencing is more suitable for identifying Aspergillus, and could identify Aspergillus spp. to species level Sequences of ITS region could only identify Aspergillus spp. to species complex.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2022;42(5):297-305
Objective:To evaluate the various wire tension belt ventral compression wiring technologiesfor treating several types of femoral greater trochanter fractures in total hip replacement, according to the different types of greater trochanter of femur fractures. Methods:From March 2013 to June 2019, a total of 1 280 cases of primary total hip arthroplasty were completed in our hospital, 21 patients with greater trochanter fractures were identified in total hip replacement. There were 11 males and 10 females with an average age of 65.81±6.45 years (range 42-76 years). All of them were unilateral. There were 11 cases on the left and 10 cases on the right. There were 11 cases of osteoarthritis secondary to hip dysplasia, 4 cases of hip osteoarthritis, 4 cases of aseptic necrosis of femoral head and 2 cases of femoral neck fracture. Different wire tension belt ventral compression wiring technologies were used for each fracture type. Harris hip function score, Parker activity score, and visual analogue scale (VAS) score of hip pain were evaluated during follow-up. X-ray films were taken to evaluate the fracture healing, prosthesis position, loosening and dislocation. Results:Three new fracture types were proposed: A transverse fracture from the greater trochanter tip to the base (4 cases); B oblique fracture from the greater trochanter tip to the base (according to the fracture line direction, type B was further divided into types B1 (4 cases) and B2 (6 cases); and C fracture line from the greater trochanter to subtrochanteric plane (7 cases). Among the 21 patients, one died at an early stage, two were lost during follow-up, and 18 were followed up for an average of 30.7±7.6 months. In 18 patients, the mean operation time was 110.0±20.0 min, and the mean intraoperative blood loss was 356.9±115.7 ml. The patients' Harris score was 35.26±5.52 at the preoperative, 65.7±6.42 at the 3 months after operation, and 87.75±6.21 at the final follow-up. The difference was statistically significant ( F=377.23, P<0.001). The patients' Parker score was 2.17±0.98 at the preoperative, 5.94±1.11 at the 3 months after operation, and 8.01±0.77 at the final follow-up. The difference was statistically significant ( F=170.96, P<0.001). The patients' VAS score was 6.22±1.11 at the preoperative, 2.61±0.92 at the 3 months after operation, and 1.28±0.67 at the final follow-up. The difference was statistically significant ( F=139.71, P<0.001). Deep vein embolism, heterotopic ossification was noted in one and another patient, respectively. The patient with non-union refused reoperation and had a broken steel wire, lower-limb limp, and no notable pain at the 12-month follow-up examination. Radiographs of 17 patients showed good location of the femoral prosthesis and no chronic pain. Conclusion:Different types of greater trochanter fractures in total hip arthroplasty were proposed, using different wire tension belt ventral compression wiring technologies for the various types of femoral greater trochanter fractures during total hip replacement can improve clinical outcomes.

ABSTRACTOBJECTIVE To explore the effect of San Huang decoction on the apoptosis of breast cancer cells and the effect on the mRNA and protein expression and function of Aurora kinase A and discuss the underlying mechanism of San Huang in-duced apoptosis.METHODS The inhibition of breast cancer cells proliferation was determined by CCK?8 assay. The apoptosis of breast cancer cells was detected by AnnexinV?FITC/PI Staining. The expression of mRNA of Aurora A was examined by q ?PCR analysis. The expression of apoptosis?related proteins and Aurora A were determined by Western Blot analysis.RE-SULTS San Huang decoction inhibited the proliferation of breast cancer cells in a does?dependent mannerP <0.05.The effect of inhibition caused by San Huang decoction 48 hours after delivering to breast cancer cells was better than 24 hoursP <0.05 although similar as 72 hoursP >0.05.San Huang decoction was also found to induce apoptosis in both MCF?7 and MDA?MB?231 cell lines in a dose?dependent manner.Consistent with cellular resultsSan Huang decoction treatment signifi-cantly increased the apoptosis?related protein level of cleaved?PARPc?PARPcleaved?Caspase 3c?Caspase 3and Baxdown ?regulated Bcl?2 in a does?dependent manner.MeanwhileSan Huang decoction decreased the mRNA and protein level of Auro-ra A and increased those of p53 in a does?dependent manner.CONCLUSION San Huang decoction at the first time was able to promote the apoptosis of breast cancer cells via inducing the suppression of Aurora A.
9.Research progress of effect on M2-type polarization of Kupffer cells in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2024;30(8):625-630
Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (HIRI), as an unavoidable complication after liver surgery such as liver transplantation, can lead to postoperative hepatic impairment or even hepatic failure, which threatens patients' lives. As an important component of immune cells, macrophages have a key role in the process of HIRI. The polarization of liver resident Kupffer cells (KCs) plays a completely opposite role in HIRI. The polarization of KCs toward M2 cells antagonizes the pro-inflammatory response caused by M1 polarization and thus protects against liver injury. However, the signaling pathways of KCs polarized toward M1 or M2 are not yet fully understood. The in-depth elucidation of the role of M2 type polarization can further guide the development of subsequent targeted drugs, which will play an important role in alleviating or curing HIRI. The authors summarize the relevant applications and possible signaling pathways involved in the role of M2-type polarization of hepatic macrophages in HIRI, which will provide references for the development of clinically targeted drugs in the future.
