ObjectiveTo conduct a theoretical study on the medical-rehabilitation integration. MethodsStarting from the background, objectives and content of the medical-rehabilitation integration, this study analyzed its innovative points from the dimensions of conceptual innovation, organizational innovation, model innovation and technological innovation. Results and ConclusionThe medical-rehabilitation integration is an innovation in medical services that takes conceptual innovation as the forerunner, organizational innovation as the foundation, model innovation as the carrier and technological innovation as the core.

Childhood simple obesity has become a significant public health issue in China. Modern medicine primarily relies on lifestyle interventions and often suffers from poor long-term compliance， while pharmacological options are limited and associated with potential adverse effects. Traditional Chinese Medicine （TCM） has a long history in the prevention and management of this condition， demonstrating eight distinct advantages， including systematic theoretical foundation， diversified therapeutic approaches， definite therapeutic efficacy， high safety profile， good patient compliance， comprehensive intervention strategies， emphasis on prevention， and stepwise treatment protocols. Additionally， TCM is characterized by six distinctive features： the use of natural medicinal substances， non-invasive external therapies， integration of medicinal dietetics， simple exercise regimens， precise syndrome differentiation， and diverse dosage forms. By combining internal and external treatments， TCM facilitates individualized regimen adjustment and holistic regulation， demonstrating remarkable effects in improving obesity-related metabolic indicators， regulating constitutional imbalance， and promoting healthy behaviors. However， challenges remain， such as inconsistent operational standards， insufficient high-quality clinical evidence， and a gap between basic research and clinical application. Future efforts should focus on accelerating the standardization of TCM diagnosis and treatment， conducting multicenter randomized controlled trials， and fostering interdisciplinary integration， so as to enhance the scientific validity and international recognition of TCM in the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity.

Objective To investigate the effectiveness of the integrated schistosomiasis control programme in Sichuan Province during the stage moving from transmission interruption to elimination (2015—2023), so as to provide insights into formulation of the schistosomiasis control measures during the post-elimination stage. Methods Schistosomiasis control data were retrospectively collected from departments of health, agriculture and rural affairs, forestry and grassland, water resources, and natural resources in Sichuan Province from 2015 to 2023, and a database was created to document examinations and treatments of human and livestock schistosomiasis, and snail survey and control, conversion of paddy fields to dry fields, ditch hardening, rivers and lakes management and building of forests for snail control and schistosomiasis prevention. The completion of schistosomiasis control measures was investigated, and the effectiveness was evaluated. Results A total of 20 545 155 person-times received human schistosomiasis examinations in Sichuan Province during the period from 2015 to 2023, and 232 157 person-times were seropositive, with a reduction in the seroprevalence from 2.10% (44 299/2 107 003) in 2015 to 1.12% (9 361/837 896) in 2023 (χ² = 7.68, P < 0.001). The seroprevalence of human schistosomiasis appeared a tendency towards a decline in Sichuan Province over years from 2015 to 2023 (b = −8.375, t = −10.052, P < 0.001); however, no egg positive individuals were identified during the period from 2018 to 2023, with the prevalence of human Schistosoma japonicum infections maintained at 0. Expanded chemotherapy was administered to 2 754 515 person-times, and medical assistance of advanced schistosomiasis was given to 6 436 persontimes, with the treatment coverage increasing from 46.80% (827/1 767) in 2015 to 64.87% (868/1 338) in 2023. Parasitological tests for livestock schistosomiasis were performed in 35 113 herd-times, and expanded chemotherapy was administered to 513 043 herd-times, while the number of fenced livestock decreased from 121 631 in 2015 to 103 489 in 2023, with a reduction of 14.92%. Snail survey covered 433 621.80 hm² in Sichuan Province from 2015 to 2023, with 204 602.81 hm² treated by chemical control and 4 637.74 hm² by environmental modifications. The area of snail habitats decreased from the peak of 5 029.80 hm² in 2016 to 3 709.72 hm² in 2023, and the actual area of snail habitats decreased from the peak of 8 585.48 hm² in 2016 to 473.09 hm² in 2023. The mean density of living snails remained low across the study period except in 2017 (0.62 snails/0.1 m²). Schistosomiasis control efforts by departments of agriculture and rural affairs in Sichuan Province included conversion of paddy fields to dry fields covering 153 346.93 hm², hardening of 6 110.31 km ditches, building of 70 356 biogas digesters, replacement of cattle with 227 161 sets of machines, and captive breeding of 21 161 070 livestock from 2015 to 2023, and the control efforts by departments of water resources included rivers and lakes management measuring 5 676.92 km and renovation of 2 331 irrigation areas, while the control efforts by departments of forestry and grassland included building of forests for snail control and schistosomiasis prevention covering 23 913.33 hm², renovation of snail control forests covering 8 720 hm² and newly building of shelterbelts covering 764 686.67 hm². All 63 endemic counties (cities and districts) had achieved the criterion for schistosomiasis elimination criteria in Sichuan Province by the end of 2023. Conclusion Following the integrated control efforts from 2015 to 2023, remarkable achievements have been obtained in the schistosomiasis control programme in Sichuan Province, with all endemic counties successfully attaining the schistosomiasis elimination target at the county level.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the improvement effect and mechanism of desloratadine citrate disodium in mice with hypersensitivity pneumonitis （HP）. METHODS Sixty mice were randomly divided into blank control group （normal saline）， model group （normal saline）， prednisone group （positive control， 20 mg/kg） and desloratadine citrate disodium low-， medium- and high-dose groups （0.5， 1， 2 mg/kg）， with 10 mice in each group. Except for the blank control group， mice in other groups were intraperitoneally injected with ovalbumin （OVA） and exposed to OVA inhalation to establish the HP model. On day 22 post- modeling， mice in each group were administered the corresponding drugs or normal saline， once a day， for 11 consecutive days. After the last administration， lung function and airway hyperreactivity were assessed. The levels of interleukin-1β （IL-1β）， IL-4 and IL-6 in serum as well as the levels of IL-8， IL-13 and IL-17A in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid were determined. Pathological changes in lung tissue of mice were evaluated using Masson staining. Furthermore， the expressions of fibrosis-related proteins， including transforming growth factor β1 （TGF-β1）， type Ⅲ collagen （Col-Ⅲ） and fibronectin （FN） were determined in lung tissues. RESULTS Compared with the blank control group， the model group showed significant deterioration in lung function （P＜ 0.01）， while airway resistance and serum levels of IL-1β， IL-4， IL-6 and the levels of IL-8， IL-13 and IL-17A in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid were increased significantly （P＜0.01）. The lung tissues exhibited alveolar collapse， atrophy， and structural disarray， along with the formation of extensive deposits of blue collagen fibers， the percentage of positive staining increased significantly （P＜0.01）. Additionally， the expression levels of TGF-β1， Col-Ⅲ， and FN proteins in the lung tissues were also increased significantly （P＜0.01）. After intervention with desloratadine citrate disodium， the pathological changes in the lung tissues of mice in each dosage group of desloratadine citrate disodium showed varying degrees of improvement， and most of the aforementioned indicator levels were significantly reversed （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. CONCLUSIONS Desloratadine citrate disodium can improve the lung function and airway hyperreactivity of HP mice， inhibit the release of inflammatory factors in serum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid， and reduce the deposition of collagen fibers. Its mechanism of action may be related to anti-inflammatory， immunomodulatory， and antifibrotic effects.

Hiatt-Neu-Cooper neurodevelopmental syndrome(HINCONS),a rare neurodevelopmental disorder closely associated with a heterozygous mutation in the RALA gene on 7p14,is characterized by prominent in-tellectual disability or global developmental delay.Currently,no effective treatment options are available for this dis-ease.This article reports a case of HINCONS presenting with global developmental delay,particularly in language and motor development,along with decreased muscle tone,short stature,distinctive facial features,and congenital ventricular septal defect.No significant abnormalities were found in laboratory biochemical tests.Head MRI revealed enlarged ventricles and increased space in the subarachnoid and convexity regions.Trio-based whole exome sequen-cing testing identified a novel variant RALA gene c.475(exon4)A＞G(p.K159E)in the affected child.In this study,we performed a retrospective analysis of the clinical features of 12 reported cases of HINCONS from the litera-ture,with the aim of providing a reference for the clinical diagnosis and genetic counseling of HINCONS.

Background The population with diabetes in China is increasing year by year. Current research has found that either air pollution or temperature has an impact on the occurrence and development of diabetes, but the interaction between the two is unclear yet. Objective To investigate the effects and the lag effects of air pollutants and temperature on the risk of hospital admission for type 2 diabetes in Hefei, Anhui Province from 2016 to 2019, as well as to verify potential interaction between air pollutants and temperature. Methods This study collected hospital admission data for patients with type 2 diabetes from a tertiary hospital in Hefei, Anhui Province, and the corresponding monitoring data on air pollutants and meteorological factors from 2016 to 2019. Firstly, a distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) was used to explore the effects of air pollutants and temperature on the risk of hospital admission for type 2 diabetes. Subsequently, a bivariate response surface model was used to explore potential interaction between temperature and various pollutants on frequency of hospital admission due to diabetes. Temperature was further divided into lower, medium, and higher levels by percentiles during the study period, and the potential interaction between air pollutants and temperature strata were verified . Results After controlling long-term trend, seasonal trend, holiday effect, and day of the week effect, the results of single pollutant models showed that for every 10 μg·m⁻³ increase in fine particulate matter (PM_2.5), inhalable particulate matter (PM₁₀), and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), the relative risk (RR) values for hospital admission due to type 2 diabetes were 1.032 (95%CI: 1.021, 1.043), 1.018 (95%CI: 1.008, 1.026), and 1.037 (95%CI: 1.016, 1.058), respectively; for every 1 mg·m⁻³ increase in carbon monoxide (CO), the RR value for hospital admission due to type 2 diabetes was 1.319 (95%CI: 1.163, 1.495); the increases in sulfur dioxide (SO₂), ozone (O₃), and daily average temperature showed no statistically significant impact on hospital admission due to type 2 diabetes. The results of bivariate response surface models suggested that daily average temperature and various pollutant levels spontaneously affected the risk of hospital admission for type 2 diabetes, but the stratified analysis did not find significant differences in the effect of PM_2.5 on the risk of hospital admission due to type 2 diabetes across different temperature strata. Conclusion Increases in the concentrations of PM_2.5, PM₁₀, NO₂, and CO elevate the risk of hospital admission for type 2 diabetes. This study could not confirm the interactions between daily average temperature and various pollutants.

Complicated crown root fracture is a serious combined fracture of the enamel,dentin,and cementum in dental trauma.The treatment method is complicated.During the procedure,the condition of pulp,periodontal,and tooth body should be thoroughly evaluated,and a multidisciplinary approach combined with sequential treatment is recom-mended.This case reported the different treatment and repair processes of one case of two affected teeth after complicat-ed crown root fracture of upper anterior teeth,including regrafting of broken crown after flap surgery at the first visit,di-rect resin repair to remove broken fragments,and pulp treatment and post-crown repair at the second visit.After 18 months of follow-up,the preservation treatment of the affected teeth with complicated crown root fracture was achieved.Therefore,fragment reattachment and post-crown restoration are feasible treatment options for children with complicated crown root fracture.

Objective:To retrospectively analyze the clinical phenotype and pathogenic variants in patients with Progressive myoclonus epilepsy (PME).Methods:Clinical data and results of genetic testing for 11 patients diagnosed with PME at the Department of Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine from June 2017 to December 2022 were collected and analyzed.Results:All of the patients, including 4 males and 7 females, had predominant action myoclonus. Three patients had myoclonus as the initial manifestation, whilst eight were diagnosed through genetic testing, including three cases with NEU1 gene variants, two with EPM2A gene variants (1 was novel), one with MT- TK gene variant, one with ATN1 gene variant, and one with CSTB gene variant. No pathogenic variant was identified in the remaining three cases. Among the eight patients with a genetic diagnosis, three were diagnosed with sialidosis, two with Lafora disease, one with Dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA), one with Unverricht-Lundborg disease (ULD), and one with Myoclonic epilepsy with ragging red fibers (MERRF). Conclusion:Compared with pediatric patients, adult patients with PME represent a distinct subtype with slower progression and milder cognitive impairment.

Objective:To understand the incidence trend of meningococcal meningitis from 1990 to 2023 and major pathogenic serogroups of Neisseria ( N.) meningitidis from 2006 to 2023 in China and the time trend of the incidence of meningococcal meningitis caused by main pathogenic serogroups, and provide reference for the prevention and control of meningococcal meningitis. Methods:The study used the data from "National Epidemic Data Compile" from 1990 to 2003 and the data from China Notifiable Infectious Disease Reporting System from 2004 to 2023 to analyze the incidence trend of meningococcal meningitis in China from 1990 to 2023 by Joinpoint regression method. Based on the data of the national meningococcal meningitis surveillance information reporting and management system from 2006 to 2023, the incidence of meningococcal meningitis caused by different serogroups of N. meningitidis was described and analyzed, and the trend χ2 test was performed to analyze the change of the incidence of meningococcal meningitis caused by N. meningitidis A, B, and C. Results:The overall incidence of meningococcal meningitis in China showed a downward trend from 1990 to 2023 [average annual percent change (AAPC)=-14.80%, P<0.001], with the most obvious decline from 2005 to 2012 [annual percent change (APC)=-31.01%, P<0.001]. The incidence of meningococcal meningitis decreased in both men and women (AAPC=-14.69% and -15.05%, both P<0.001). A total of 1 178 serogroup specific cases of meningococcal meningitis were reported in China from 2006 to 2023, the proportion of serogroup C was highest (32.5%), followed by unclassified (22.3%), B (20.1%), A (18.4%), W (4.5%), Y (2.0%) and X (0.2%). The results of trend χ2 test indicated that the incidence of meningococcal meningitis caused by N. meningitidis A and C showed downward trends (both P<0.001) and the incidence of meningococcal meningitis caused by N. meningitidis B showed an upward trend in general population and young children (0-4 years old group) from 2006 to 2023 (both P<0.05). Conclusion:The incidence of meningococcal meningitis showed a downward trend in China from 1990 to 2023, but it is still necessary to pay more attention to the incidence of meningococcal meningitis caused by N. meningitidis B in age group aged 0-4 years and by multi serogroups at same time in general population.
