Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(09):-
Objective To investigate the role of tumor suppressor gene PTEN(phosphatase and tension homologue deleted on chromosome 10,PTEN)in apoptosis of ectopic endometrial cells induced by gestrinone. Methods Ectopic endometrium cells obtained from endometriosis were cultured and exposed to gestrinone in different concentrations. The inhibition of the cells during 48 hours was determined by MTT assay, and the cell growth curve was plotted. Then the morphological changes in cells treated with gestrinone for 24h were observed with transmission electron microscope, and the apoptosis rate, cell cycle of the cells and PTEN expression were assessed with flow cytometry analysis (FCM) at the same time. Results Gestrinone in different concentrations could inhibit the growth and proliferation of ectopic endometrium cells in a does and time dependent manner, and the cell growth curve was changed accordingly. After 24 hours exposure to gestrinone in the concentrations of 10 -6 to10 -4 mol/L, some apoptotic changes were observed in the cells under transmission electron microscope. FCM showed that after the exposure to gestrinone, the apoptotic rate of ectopic endometrial cells was 1.3% in 10 6 mol/L group and 15.0% in 10 -4 mol/L group, indicating that there was significantly increase in apoptosis when compared with the control group. At the same time the level of PTEN expression was also increased. Conclusion Gestrinone can significantly inhibit the growth and proliferation of ectopic endometrial cells in endometriosis, and this effects seems to be related to an increase in PTEN expression.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(06):-
Objective:To determine whether laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) affects the central 30-degree visual field. Methods:This clinical trial comprised 31 patients(61 eyes)scheduled to have LASIK for myopia or myopic astigmatism.Automated static perimetry was performed before and 1 week,6 months after the surgery using the Octopus 1-2-3 perimetry. The main outcome measures were the meao sensitivity(MS) change in the central 15-degree visual field and the MS change in the 15-to 30-degree visual field. The preoperative and postoperative MS values were calculated, and the difference between them(delta MS) was determined.Statistical analysis were performed by SPSS12.0 using the randomized complete block design ANOVA(two factors analysis of variance).Differences among variables were evaluated by q-test. Results:One week after the operation, all uncorrected visual acuity equal to or better than 4.7.Six months after operation, visual acuity distributed between 4.9 and 5.2. There was no significant change in the central 15-degree visual field MS,neither 1 week nor 1 month after the operation;between 15 and 30 degrees, there was a statistically significant decrease. One week after the operation, the delta MS value was(-0.91?1.42)dB(mean?standard deviation);6 month after the operation, the delta MS value was(-0.87?1.38)dB. Conclusion:Automatic static perimetry can detect decreased sensitivity in the 15-to 30-degree visual field after myopic LASIK.It may be a useful quantitative subjective test for measuring the vision quality after refractive surgery in future.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(17):2759-2765
BACKGROUND: Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) with multiple differentiation potential can be induced into osteogenic or adipogenic differentiation under certain conditions. OBJECTIVE: To review the related factors regulating the adipo-osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs. METHODS: A computer-based search of CNKI and PubMed databases was performed for literature concerning the related factors regulating the adipo-osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs published from January 2006 to August 2016. The search terms were bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, osteogenic differentiation, adipocyte differentiation in Chinese and English, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Signaling pathways, transcription factors, and smal molecule compounds that are interacted are key factors in the regulation of BMSCs differentiation, so the techniques to intervene BMSCs differentiation based on these key molecules may correct bone or fat abnormality and can be applied to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine in the future. Additionally, the biological clock is also one of the most important factors for adipo-osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs by regulating signaling pathways or transcription factors.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2023;35(10):844-848
Objective:
To systematically evaluate the incidence of falls among empty nesters in China, so as to provide the evidence for preventing falls among empty nesters.
Methods:
Publications pertaining to cross-sectional studies of falls among empty nesters in China were retrieved from international and national databases, including CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, Cochrane Library, Web of Science and PubMed from inception to August, 2022. Meta-analysis was performed using the software Stata 15.1, and the combined incidence and 95%CI of falls among empty nesters in China was analyzed. Sensitivity analysis was performed using the leave-one-out method to evaluate the stability of outcome indicators. In addition, the publication bias was evaluated using Funnel plot.
Results:
Initially, 795 articles were screened in the literature, and 17 articles were finally included, covering 5 468 participants. Meta-analysis revealed that the incidence of falls among empty nesters in China was 23.0% (95%CI: 16.6%-29.5%). Subgroup analysis showed that the incidence of falls among empty nesters published from 2016 to 2022 was higher than that from 2008 to 2015 (20.4% vs. 17.3%; P<0.05). The incidence of falls among empty nesters in western regions was higher than that in eastern and central regions (27.4% vs. 15.9% and 15.0%; P<0.05). The incidence of falls among empty nesters in urban areas was higher than that in rural areas (20.8% vs. 9.9%; P<0.05). Sensitivity analysis showed that the study results were stable, and the funnel plot identified some publication bias.
Conclusion
The incidence of falls among empty nesters in China was 16.6% to 29.5%, and it is recommended to strengthen the assessment and prevention of risk factors of falls among empty nesters.
