Bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD) is a common chronic respiratory disease in preterm infants.Severe BPD(sBPD) features a high mortality rate, while for survivors, sBPD usually results in developmental retardation of the nervous system, cardiovascular complications, and long-term respiratory problems that affect the quality of life.At present, there are no effective treatment measures, and comprehensive treatments are adeptly more commonly, including nutritional support, fluid restriction, respiratory support, glucocorticoids, pulmonary surfactants and so on.Yet the effectiveness and safety of these treatments are still controversial. The article reviewed the current status of sBPD management.
