Chinese Journal of Geriatric Heart Brain and Vessel Diseases 2014;(6):599-601
ion:Objective To study the effect of enteral nutrition on cardio-pulmonary function in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) .Methods Fifty-eight elderly COPD patients were randomly divided into treatment group (enteral nutrition group ,n=29) and control group (free diet group ,n=29) .Their nutrition parameters (BMI ,serum total protein ,al-bumin and prealbumin) ,LVEF and pulmonary function (FEV1 ,FVC ,FEV1/FVC) were assayed before and after treatment .Results The BMI ,serum levels of total protein ,albumin and prealbu-min were significantly higher in treatment group after treatment than before treatment ( P<0.05) .However ,no significant difference was observed in these parameters in control group after treatment .The LVEF ,FVC ,FEV1 and FEV1/FVC were significantly higher in treatment group than in control group after treatment (P< 0 .05) .Conclusion Enteral nutrition in combination with conventional treatment can improve the nutrition and cardio-pulmonary function in elderly COPD patients ,thus shortening their hospital stay time .

Objective To discuss the effectiveness of Austrian Combi40+Cochlear Implant.Method Six cases of deaf children implanted Austrian Combi40+Cochlear Implant during the March,2004 to September,2005 were analyzed retrospectively.Result All cases were implanted successfully without complication. All deaf children acquired hearing of some degree when implant devices were operated in one month later. Also All cases were getting their speech intelligibility improved by hearing and speech rehabilitation. Conclusion The effectiveness of Austrian Combi40+Cochlear Implant is related to the age of deaf children with cochlear implant. The early deaf children get cochlear implant and hearing and speech rehabilitation, the better they have speech intelligibility.

AIM: To explore the effects of mindfulness- based stress reduction ( MBSR ) on anxiety, compliance and visual function in primary open angle glaucoma( POAG) patients. ·METHODS:Totally 64 patients, who were treated with topical medication and were diagnosed with POAG in the department of ophthalmology at Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, were randomly divided into the intervention group ( n=32 ) and the control group ( n=32 ) . Both groups received conventional mental health education while the intervention group was complemented with MBSR intervention. The patient's anxiety status, compliance rates and MD before and after the intervention were evaluated. ·RESULTS:After the MBSR intervention, the scores of HAMA of the intervention group were significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0. 01). The compliance of patients in intervention group was higher than that of the control group (P<0. 01). ·CONCLUSION:The MBSR intervention can effectively relieve the anxiety of patients and improve the compliance in primary open angle glaucoma patients. It can be promoted and put into clinical application.

Objective To investigate the correlation between serum tumor markers levels with the disease condition activity and the tumor occurrence in the patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods Serum tumor marker CA199,CA153 levels were de-tected in 35 patients with RA (RA group)and 31 healthy controls(normal control group).ESR and CRP were examined and the disease activity (DA)was assessed by the DAS28 score in the RA group. The serum tumor markers levels and the positive rates were compared between the RA group and the normal control group. The correlation between the serum tumor markers levels with ESR,CRP and DAS28 score was analyzed. Results Serum levels and positives rate of CA199,CA153 in the RA group were higher than those in the control group(P <0.05).The serum CA153 level had a positive correlation with the ESR,CRP and DAS28 score in the RA group(P <0.05),but the serum CA199 level had no significant correlation with them. Conclusion The serum levels and positive rates of CA199 and CA199 could be increased in the patients with RA,moreover the increase of serum CA153 level is corre-lated with DA of RA.Therefore the serum tumor marker CA153 level may be used as one of reference indexes for evaluating the DA in the patients with RA.

Objective To investigate the effects of octreotide on the apoptosis of human hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) and expression of Bcl-2/Bax in HSCs,and to reveal the mechanism underlying octreotide against hepatic fibrosis. Methods HSCs lines (HSC-LX2) were incubated with different concentrations of octreotide for 24 and 48 hours. Cell apoptosis was evaluated by Fitc-tunel fluorescence staining. Bcl-2 and Bax protein exoression in HSC-LX2 was detected by immunocytochemistry. Meanwhile, Bcl-2 protein of HSC-LX2 were detected by Western blot assay. Results Octreotide could promote the apoptosis of HSC-LX2, and the apoptosis rate was significantly increased with the concentration of octreotide(P < 0.05). The HSC-LX2 were incubated with the same concentration of octreotide for 24 and 48 hours, the cell apoptosis rate of 48-hour octreotide treatment was significantly higher than that of 24-hour octreotide treatment (P < 0.05). The immunocytochemistry result indicated that octreotide could significantly decrease Bcl-2 expression and increase Bax expression in HSC-LX2 (P<0.05); Western blot assay showed that octreotide could also significantly inhibit Bcl-2 expression in HSC-LX2 (P<0.05). Conclusions Octreotide could induce the apoptosis of HSCs in a dose-and time-dependent manner, the mechanism of octreotide inducing HSCs apoptosis might be associated with down-regulation of Bcl-2 and upregulation of Bax in HSC.

Objective To identify the risk factors for early postoperative elevation in body temperature in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).Methods Nine hundred and forty-one patients of both sexes, aged 14-70 yr,were assigned into hyperthermia (≥ 38 ℃) group or non-hyperthermia (< 38 ℃) group according to the bladder temperature at 8h after operation.Factors including age, sex, height, weight, complications (hypertension, hyperlipemia, diabetes),history of smoking and drinking, preoperative blood pressure, heart rate, ejection fraction, routine blood examination, routine urine examination, and respiratory function examination, intraoperative cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and hormone, operation time, extubation time, duration of stay in the intensive care unit, and blood pressure, heart rate, ejection fraction, routine blood examination, and routine urine examination at the end of operation, and postoperative analgesia were recorded. The risk factors of which P values were less than 0.05 would enter the multi-factor logistic regression analysis to stratify the risk factors for early postoperative elevation in body temperature after CABG.Results Six hundred and ninety patients developed early postoperative elevation in body temperature (73.3%).Logistic regression analysis showed that preoperative respiratory dysfunction, preoperative ejection fraction ≤ 50% and CPB were independent risk factors for early postoperative hyperthermia after CABG (P < 0.05).Conclusion Preoperative respiratory dysfunction, preoperative ejection fraction≤ 50% and CPB are independent risk factors for early postoperative elevation in body temperature in patients undergoing CABG.
