Patent ductus arteriosus(PDA) is a common condition that primarily occurs in preterm infants who with low birth weight,which closely related to several co-morbidities(intracranial hemorrhage,necrotizing enterocolitis,pulmonary edema/hemorrhage,bron chopulmonary dysplasia,and retinopathy).Although the color Doppler ultrasound assessment can be used as the gold standard to determine the present of PDA,it is still very hard to fully reflect the hemodynamic change occured in PDA case.In recent years,B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP),two kind of biological markers,were used in the premature infants to assess the present,shunt volume,progress and durg or surgical intervention indication of PDA.In this paper,the corrections of PDA between BNP and NT-proBNP were reviewed briefly.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of pericarpium zanthoxylum oil on experimental hyperlipemia in mice. Methods Hyperlipemia model was reproduced in mice, and then pericarpium zanthoxylum oil was garaged for 4 weeks. Blood samples were obtained from retro-ocular vessel. The levels of blood lipids were determined, the hemorrheology parameters were determined by hemorrheometer, and the pathological changes in the liver of mice were observed microscopically. Results Zanthoxylum oil could obviously reduce contents of TC, TG, LDL-C (P

4 mm in diameter, re-operations of ESWL were required until no stones were detected. Results All the patients presented a good tolerability to the treatment and left for home by themselves. With exception of 1 case of failed lithotripsy, the ESWL was successfully accomplished in the rest of 17 cases after receiving 3~9 times of treatment. One or two times of hematuria occurred in 66 times of treatment (66/77, 85.7%). A “stone terrace”, 1.9~5.2 cm in length, was found in 5 cases, 4 of which were cured by re-operation of ESWL and 1 of which underwent ureteroscopic removal of stones. Conclusions Low-energy extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy is a safe and effective option for patients with renal staghorn calculi.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Yijing Recipe (YR) on the apoptosis of testis spermatogenic cells and the protein expression of Bcl-2/Bax in rats with adenine induced infertility.

METHODSTotally 75 Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, i.e., the blank control group, the model group, the high dose YR group, the middle dose YR group, and the low dose YR group, 15 in each group. Except those in the blank control group, rats in the rest groups were intragastrically administered with adenine for 10 successive days. From the 11th day, rats in the blank control group and the model group were fed with equal volume of normal saline. Rats in the YR groups were intragastrically administered with YR at different doses (3.38 g/100 g; 1.69 g/100 g; 0.85 g/100 g), once daily for 20 consecutive days. All rats were killed by the end of the experiment and their testes extracted. The apoptosis of spermatogenic cells and the expression of Bcl-2/Bax proteins were detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated biotinylated UTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) and SABC method.

RESULTSCompared with the blank control group, the Bcl-2 protein expression decreased, the Bax protein expression increased, and the apoptosis index increased in the model group, showing statistical difference (P <0.01). Compared with the model group, the Bcl-2 protein expression increased in the three YR treated groups (P <0.01, P <0.05). The Bax protein expression level decreased in the high and middle dose YR groups (P <0. 01, P <0. 05). The apoptosis index decreased in the middle dose YR group (P <0.01).

CONCLUSIONYR could inhibit the apoptosis of spermatogenic cells through regulating the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax protein in the testis.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS) in regenerative nodules(RNs)and small hepatocellular carcinoma(sHCC).Methods Thirty-four cases of liver cirrhosis with small nodule were examined by CEUS.Among these cases,18 cases with 20 lesions were diagnosed s HCC,16 cases with 18 lesions were diagnosed RN eventually,all the diagnoses were confirmed by pathology.Perfusion characteristic and quantitative difference of RNs and sHCC were summarized.Results ①The majority of sHCC showed hyper-enhancement during the arterial phase,iso-enhancement or hypo-enhancement during the portal phase,hypo-enhancement during the late phase.The enhanced phase and degree of RNs were diverse,most of RNs showed iso enhancement during the three phases.The enhanced phase of two groups had significant difference(P ＜0.05).②The enhancement type of RNs and sHCC had no significant difference (P ＞ 0.05).③ 11 of 20 sHCC lesions showed contrast-enhancement pattern of fast-in and slow-out,9 lesions were fast-in and fast-out;among 18 RNs,1 lesion enhanced during the portal phase and the late phase,it didn't enhanced during the arterial phase,3 lesions started to enhanced at the late arterial phase,14 lesions were iso-enhancement during the three phases.④Comparison of parameters of RNs and the adjacent liver parenchyma had no significant difference(P ＞0.05).Compared with the adjacent liver parenchyma or RNs,the arrival time and peak time were shorter,the peak intensity and the curve sharpness were higher in sHCC (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions CEUS is a useful method to distinguish RNs and sHCC in liver cirrhosis.

AIM: To observe the effect of Qingluo Tongbi Granule(QLTBG)——containing serum on the proliferation of osteoblasts(OB) and osteoclasts(OC),the activity of AKP of OB. METHODS: (1) OB were separated from the skull of SD rats aged 1 d and OC from the thighbone and shinbone of SD rats aged 5 d.(2) The proliferation of OB and OC was detected by MTT method,and the activity of AKP of OB was examined by diazol method. RESULTS: The proliferation capability of OB was strengthened markedly by the rat sera containing 7.2,14.4 g/kg QLTBG,which could reinforce the activity of AKP obviously as well,while the proliferation of OB was inhibited remarkably by the rat sera containing 3.6,7.2,14.4 g/kg QLT. CONCLUSION: The sera containing QLTBG could enhance the proliferation of OB and the activity of AKP,restrain the proliferation of OC simultaneously.

Corneal endothelial cell(CEC)is the most critical part for the cornea, of which activity can influence the postoperative vision.It is very important for the clinical cornea preservation considering the function and its self-purification of donor cornea.There are a variety of classical methods, which can significantly prolong the saving time of donor cornea with its good quality of CEC.We reviewed the published papers about present preservation methods of cornea, which can give us many suggestions for the clinical cornea preservation.

Objective To explore the effects of Sanban manipulation of spine on ankylosing spondylitis (AS) at the early-middle stage.Methods 60 AS patients at the early-middle stage were divided into drug group (n=30) and manipulation group (n=30). The drug group wastreated with sulfasalazine and the sustained-release pills of Zhengqingfengtongning, while the manipulation group were treated with Sanbanmanipulation of spine additionally. Self-developed questionnaire were used to follow up before and 1, 3 and 6 months after treatment. ResultsThe Schober index and the finger-floor distance improved more in the manipulation group than in the drug group (P<0.05) 3 months aftertreatment. All the index improved more in the manipulation group than in the drug group (P<0.05) 6 months after treatment. ConclusionSanban manipulation of spine can improve the thoracolumbar activities in the AS patients at the early-middle stage.
