Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture on hand dysfunction after stroke. Methods Forty hemiplegic patients after stroke were selected from a multi-center large-scale trail, belonged to rehabilitation group (n=20) and electroacupuncture group (n=20), who accepted routine rehabilitation and additional electroacupuncture, respectively, for six weeks. They were assessed with Brunnstrom Grade, Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT) and modified Barthel index (MBI) before treatment, two, four and six weeks during treatment, and twelve weeks after treatment. Results There were differences between two groups in scores of FMA, WMFT and total time to complete WMFT twelve weeks after treatment (t>1.900, P<0.05). There was no difference between two groups in scores of MBI and Brunnstrom Grade (t=0.532, Z<1.79, P>0.05), but electroacupuncture group seemed to improve more. Conclusion Elec-troacupuncture may improve the muscle strength for patients in flaccid paralysis, and promote the recovery of hand function for patients af-ter stroke.

Objective To observe the effect of treadmill training on metabotropic glutamate receptor of a middle cerebral artery occlusion model in rat and its underlying mechanisms. Methods Sprague-Dawley male rats of 2 or 3 months old were randomly divided into 3 groups: a sham operation group, an iscbemia-reperfnsion group and a treadmill training group (subject to 2 weeks of training after the ischemia-reperfusion). All the animals were sacri-ficed after 2 weeks of training and their brains were sampled for measurement of the expression level of the striatum mGluR Ⅰ-mRNA, using RT-PCR technique. Results The striatum mRNA of mGluR1 and mGluR5 was signifi-cantly elevated in the ischemia-reperfusion group(P<0.01), but treadmill training significantly suppressed the ele-vation of the expression of mRNA of mGluR1 and mGluR5 (P<0.01). Conclusions Treadmill training can signif-icantly downregulate mGluR Ⅰ-mRNA expression. This might be one of the important mechanisms for inhibition of the excitatory glutamate production.

Objective To investigate the value of CysC-based CFR in comparison with creatinine-based GFR (CG-GFR and MDRD-GFR) as an accurate serum marker in the prediction of early diabetic nephropathy. Methods A tatal of 133 type 2 diabetic patients (74 males and 59 females, aged 58.1 ±12.3) were enrolled. The level of diabetic nephropathy (normoalbuminuric, microalbuminuric and macroalbuminuric) was staged and estimated GFR based on serum creatinine and cystatin C(CysC) was calculated. The plasma clearance of Tc-DTPA, serum CysC, creatinine, BMI, HbA1c, serum lipid and blood pressure were measured. Results 99mTc-DTPA-GFR was used as golden standard. At 90 and 75 ml· min-1· (1.73 m2)-1 cut-points, diagnostic efficiencies of CysC-GFR (89% and 92%) were better than those of CG-GFR (79%=86%, P=0.004, 0.04) and MDRD-GFR (80%-86%, P=0.02, 0.04). At 60 ml · min-1 · (1.73 m2)-1 cut-point, diagnostic efficiencies of CysC-GFR,CG-GFR and MDRD-GFR were 92%, 90% and 92% respectively (P= 0.49, P=0.71). The Logistic regression analyses showed that retinopathy, HbA1c, CysC, diabetic duration, and CysC-GFR were indicators to predict the development of microalbuminuria. Conclusion CysC-GFR is more valuable than CG-GFR and MDRD-GFR in the prediction of early diabetic nephropathy and should be applied clinically.

AIM: To investigate the protective effects of ulinastatin on the rats with paraquat-induced acute lung injury and its mechanisms .METHODS:The Wistar rats ( n=108 ) were randomly divided into control group , pa-raquat group and ulinastatin group .The rats in paraquat group and ulinastatin group were given paraquat by gavage , while the rats in control group were given sterile saline by gavage .The rats in ulinastatin group were also given ulinastatin treat-ment.The serum levels of MDA, SOD, IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-αwere measured after 1 d, 3 d, 7 d, 14 d, 21 d and 28 d. The expression levels of p 38 MAPK, MMP-2 and TIMP-1 in the lung were also measured .RESULTS:The levels of SOD in 1 d, 3 d and 7 d in paraquat group and ulinastatin group were significantly lower than those in control group ( P<0.01).The level of SOD in ulinastatin group was significantly higher than that in paraquat group (P<0.05).The levels of MDA, IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-αin 1 d, 3 d and 7 d in paraquat group and ulinastatin group increased compared with con-trol group (P<0.01), and those in ulinastatin group were significantly lower than those in paraquat group (P<0.05). The levels of p38 MAPK and TIMP-1 in 1 d, 3 d, 7 d, 14 d, 21 d and 28 d in paraquat group and ulinastatin group were higher than those in control group (P<0.01), and those in ulinastatin group was significantly lower than those in paraquat group ( P<0.05) .The level of MMP-2 in 1 d, 3 d, 7 d, 14 d and 21 d in paraquat group and ulinastatin group increased compared with control group (P<0.01), and that in ulinastatin group was significantly lower than that in paraquat group (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Ulinastatin protects the lung tissues of rats from paraquat-induced acute lung injury by in-hibiting p38 MAPK signaling pathway and ameliorating inflammatory and oxidative responses .

Objective To investigate on the gender and age distribution characteristics of serum lipid levels among apparently healthy adult population in Beijing and analyse its related risk factors .Methods This is a prospective study.1 712 healthy individuals between 18 and 79 years old were recruited from medical examination center of Peking University Third Hospital .By strict exclusion criteria , 951 healthy individuals (429 males and 522 females) were included in our study.A calibrated automatic biochemical analyzer was used to measure TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, ApoA1, ApoB concentrations in serum.Test results were stratified by gender , age, related risk factors, and statistically analysed.Two groups of normally disthibuted data were compared using t test;multiple groups of data were compared using variance analysis . Results Results for TC (t=4.013, P<0.050), HDL-C(t=9.162, P<0.05) and ApoA1( t=8.225, P<0.05) appear generally higher in women than in men .On the contrary, males had greater levels of TG (Z=3.119, P<0.05) compared to females.There was an obvious increasing trend in TC ( F=47.984, P<0.05), TG(Chi square =146.616, P<0.05), LDL-C(F=46.024, P <0.05), non-HDL-C(F =45.027, P<0.05) and ApoB levels(F=52.020, P<0.05), as well as peaked in the 60-69 age group, decreased in 70-70 years old.The population of beneath the bachelor-degree had greater levels of ApoB ( t=5.989, P<0.05), LDL-C(t=4.445, P<0.05), TC(t=2.885, P<0.05), non-HDL-C(t=4.332, P<0.05) and TG(Z=3.346, P<0.05) compared to the group of bachelor degree or above .Meanwhile, The levels of TC(t=8.273, P<0.05), HDL-C(t=3.346, P<0.05), LDL-C(t=5.768, P<0.05), non-HDL-C(t=7.213, P<0.05), ApoA1(t=3.683, P<0.05), ApoB(t=6.267, P<0.05), TG(Z=5.626, P<0.05) of the population lived in urban area were higher than rural areas .Interestingly, the concentration of ApoA1(t=3.238, P<0.05), HDL-C( t=6.011, P<0.05) and TC(t=2.712, P<0.05) were much higher in the population of mental worker than the manual worker .BMI and waistline positively correlated with serum TG(rs=0.379, 0.443, P<0.01), TC(rs =0.160, 0.176, P<0.01), LDL-C(rs =0.238, 0.263, P <0.01), ApoB (rs =0.326, 0.371, P <0.01) and non-HDL-C(rs =0.304, 0.336, P<0.01) respectively, but negatively correlated with HDL-C(rs =-0.358, -0.386, P<0.01) and ApoA1 ( rs =-0.203, -0.209, P <0.01 ) .Conclusions The study obtained the distribution of lipid levels among apparently healthy a dult population in Beijing .It may offer objective basis for clinical risk assessment of ASCVD , and guid the clinician to choose the optimal individualized treatment .

Objective To investigate the expression of FTO in gastric cancer tissues and the functional significance of FTO in MGC-803 cell line.Methods The FTO mRNA was detected by RT-qPCR in 54 cases of gastric cancer samples and their paired adjacent normal control tissues.The effect of FTO overexpression in MGC-803 on cell proliferation,cell migration and invasion were detected by CCK-8,wound heal and ranswell assays,respectively.Results The expression of FTO mRNA was significantly lower than that of adjacent tissues(P＜O.05).Furthermore,overexpression of FTO in MGC-803 cells inhibited cell proliferation,cell migration and invasion.Conclusions FTO is low expressed in gastric cancer tissues and inhibits gastric cancer cell line MGC-803 proliferation,migration and invasion.FTO is closely associated with the development of gastric cancer.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the bacterial distribution and antibiotic resistance situation with urinary tract infection(UTI) for the guidance of rational use of antibiotics.METHODS The antibiotic resistance of clinical isolates from urinary tract infection from Mar 2005 to Jul 2006 was analyzed. RESULTS The most common pathogens in urinary tract infection were Escherichia coli(50.2%),Enterococcus(14.4%),Staphyloccus aureus(8.7%),Klebsiella pneumoniae(7.3%),and Proteus mirabilis(3.9%).E.coli,K.pneumoniae,and P.mirabilis were found to be highly resistant to ampicillin,quinolones and SMZ(70.6-100.0%).Enterococcus were highly resistant to penicillin and quinolones(81.0-96.8%).41.4% of E.coli and 31.3% of K.pneumoniae isolates produced ESBLs.HLGR-Enterococcus were 79.4%.78.9% S.aureus isolates were resistant to oxacillin.CONCLUSIONS The high antibiotic resistance of commonly encountered pathogens is a serious problem and much attention should be paid to detect pathogens and their antibiotic resistance.

Objective:To study the curative efficacy of decitabine combine with CAG regimen in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia and its effects on the serum Interferon-γ (IFN-γ),alpha hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (HBDH) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels.Methods:70 cases of patients with acute myeloid leukemia who were treated from February 2013 to October 2016 in our hospital were selected as research objects.According to the random number table,the patients were divided into the observation group (n=35) and the control group (n=35).Both groups of patients were treated conventional treatment.The control group was treated with CAG scheme,intravenous injection of aclarubicin,20 mg each time,granulocyte colony stimulating factor,300 μg each time,subcutaneous intravenous cytarabine,10～15 mg/m2 each time,while the observation group was treated with intravenous drip of decitabine on the basis of control group,15 mg/m2 each time.Then the therapeutic effect,serum interferon-γ (IFN-γ),alpha hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (HBDH),lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels before and after treatment,incidence of adverse reactions were compared between two groups.Results:After treatment,the total effective of observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group [91.42％(32/35)vs68.57％(24/35)] (P ＜0.05);the serum IFN-γ,HBDH,LDH levels were significantly higher than those of the control group [(3.21± 1.01)pg/ml vs.(5.13 ± 1.90)pg/mL,(103.62± 26.39)U/L vs.(118.80± 28.60)U/L,(101.36± 27.32)U/L vs.(123.08 ± 30.59)U/L] (P ＜0.05);the incidence rate of adverse reactions was significantly lower than that of the control group [20.00％(7/35) vs.42.85％(15/35)(P ＜0.05)].Conclusion:Decitabine combined with CAG regimen was more effective for acute myeloid leukemia than CAG regimen alone,which might be related to reduce the serum levels of IFN-γ, HBDH and LDH.

The cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases have become a main category of disease which affects human health today.It is helpful to search for its causes and main risk factors for scientific prevention and control of these diseases.Now,we have already paid close attention to effect of the airborne contaminant and meteorological factors on the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.Some reports about solo affect of two types factors have given a clear results;however,a little of unification evidences have been provided.This article reviews the solo and unification effects of pollutants and meteorological factors in the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
