Chinese Journal of Forensic Medicine 1986;0(01):-
Recent researches have showed that neural stem cells be isolated not only in the embryonic nervous system but also in adult nervous system. Neural stem cells have some capacity for self-renewal, migration and can differentiate into neurons, astrocyte and oligodendrocyte. This provides a basis in therapy of degenerative diseases and functional recovery of the central nervous system injury. Also helps in the study of determining the postmortem interval ( PMI) and postmortem injury. Distribution, biological characteristic, identification and the factors effecting the proliferation, differentiation and migration with reference to therapy of neural stem cells and applications in forensic pathology are reviewed.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2021;23(2):162-166
Objective:To report the diagnosis and surgical treatment of a special type of Maisonneuve injury. Methods:A total of 4 patients were treated at Department of Orthopaedics, Beijing Chao Yang Hospital from January 2015 to July 2019 for Maisonneuve injury. They were 3 males and one female, aged from 34 to 61 years (average, 45.3 years). All injuries were closed, initially manifested as posterior dislocation of the ankle on X-ray films and X-ray and CT re-exams after manual reduction showed fine reduction with no obvious fracture of the ankle joint. Consequently the diagnosis of their Maisonneuve injury was missed in emergency visits, but re-exams in outpatient visits showed separation of distal tibiofibular syndesmosis. All the patients were treated by restoration of the fibular length, fixation of the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis and repair of the triangular ligament. American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) ankle-hindfoot score was used to evaluate functional recovery of the ankle joint at 12 months after operation. Results:All the 4 patients were followed up for 12 to 14 months (average, 12.7 months). The fractures united after 110 to 185 days (average, 149.3 days). No post-operative complications like infection, delayed union or nonunion were observed. The AOFAS score at 12 months ranged from 82 to 96 points (average, 90.5 points), giving 3 excellent and one good cases. Conclusions:The Maisonneuve injury which is clinically manifested as posterior dislocation of the ankle with no obvious fracture of the ankle joint is likely to be missed in clinical diagnosis. Therefore, X-ray exam of the full length tibia and fibula should be taken in physical examination after reduction for the patients with simple posterior dislocation of the ankle. Once the special type of Maisonneuve injury is diagnosed, surgical treatment is indicated. Satisfactory treatment efficacy can be achieved by fixation of the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis and repair of the triangular ligament.

Abstract: Schistosomiasis, an important zoonotic parasitic disease, is one of the six major tropical diseases identified by WHO, and also one of the most important parasitic diseases for prevention and control in China. After more than 70 years of efforts, the prevention and control of schistosomiasis in China has made great achievements, and the current epidemic of schistosomiasis in China has entered an extremely low epidemic state, but the distribution base of the only intermediate host of schistosomiasis, Oncomelania hupensis, is still large. For now, the techniques used to monitor schistosomiasis have shortcomings such as time-consuming, laborious and low sensitivity, which cannot meet the current needs of China. Environmental DNA (eDNA) refers to DNA that can be extracted from environmental samples (such as soil, water or air) without isolating any target organisms, which is a complex mixture of genomic DNA and its degradation products from different organisms in the same environment. eDNA technology can reflect the community or species composition information in the ecosystem through DNA extraction and detection of environmental samples. Compared with traditional biological monitoring methods, eDNA technology has the advantages of high efficiency, high sensitivity and environmental friendliness. eDNA has been successfully used for the specific detection of Schistosoma mansoni, Schistosoma haematobium and Schistosoma japonicum. This paper reviews the current detection methods of eDNA, the application and technical limitations of eDNA technology in schistosomiasis monitoring, aiming to provide scientific reference for research in the field of schistosomiasis surveillance.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between TCM syndrome type and gastric mucosa cell proliferation related controlling gene protein in chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG).
METHODSExpressions of cell proliferation related controlling gene protein, including proliferative cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and c-myc, from gastric mucosa of CAG model rats with different syndrome types were measured by immunohistochemistry and the changes of them before and after TCM intervention were also analyzed by image analysis.
RESULTSProtein expressions of PCNA, EGFR and c-myc in gastric mucosa of CAG model rats with different syndrome types (Pi-deficiency type, Gan-stagnation type and dampness-heat type) were different to some extent, and all of them reduced significantly after TCM intervention in the model rats of all syndrome types.
CONCLUSIONExpressions of cell proliferation related controlling gene protein in gastric mucosa of CAG model rats of different syndrome types were different to some extent, which provides a certain experimental evidence for revealing the essence of TCM syndrome type of CAG and judging the prognosis of various types.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2015;50(6):702-707
This study is to investigate the inhibitory effect of kaempferol on inflammatory response of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated HMC-1 mast cells. The cytotoxicity of kaempferol to HMC-1 mast cells were analyzed by using MTT assay and then the administration concentrations of kaempferol were established. Histamine, IL-6, IL-8, IL-1β and TNF-α were measured using ELISA assay in activated HMC-1 mast cells after incubation with various concentrations of kaempferol (10, 20 and 40 µmol.L-1). Western blot was used to test the protein expression of p-IKKβ, IκBα, p-IκBα and nucleus NF-κB of LPS-induced HMC-1 mast cells after incubation with different concentrations of kaempferol. The optimal concentrations of kaempferol were defined as the range from 5 µmol.L-1 to 40 µmol.L-1. Kaempferol significantly decreased the release of histamine, IL-6, IL-8, IL-1β and TNF-α of activated HMC-1 mast cells (P<0.01). After incubation with kaempferol, the protein expression of p-IKKβ, p-IKBa and nucleus NF-κB (p65) markedly reduced in LPS-stimulated HMC-1 mast cells (P<0.01). Taken together, we concluded that kaempferol markedly inhibit mast cell-mediated inflammatory response. At the same time, kaempferol can inhibit the activation of IKKβ, block the phosphorylation of IκBα, prevent NF-KB entering into the nucleus, and then decrease the release of inflammatory mediators.
