1.Detection Methods of Vulnerable Atherosclerotic Plaque
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(02):-
Many studies have shown that the embolism caused by vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque is one of the major causes of ischemic stroke. However, there is still not a simple and precise method to identify the vulnerable plaques yet. This article reviews the various methods for detecting vulnerable plaques from the aspects of serology and imaging.

ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between anastomotic leakage of patients undergoing colonic surgery and the collagen metabolism of colonic wall.Method We measured the overall collagen content of colonic tissue by biochemistry and detected the collagen I, III, MMP-1,MMP-13 by immunohistochemistry in 16 patients with anastomotic leakage compared with 16 control cases. Resultthe overall collagen content and collagen I,III of colonic wall in the leakage group were lower than those in the control group (t=3.417,t=2.841, t=2.261,P

5.A meta-analysis on smoking and pulmonary tuberculosis incidence in Chinese people
Chongqing Medicine 2017;46(16):2224-2227,2232
Objective To study the relationship between smoking and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis(TB) in Chinese people. Methods The Pubmed database and three Chinese databases such as Wanfang Data,Veipu data(VIP) and China national knowledge infrastructure database (CNKI) were retrieved. The literatures on the relationship between smoking and pulmonary TB incidence in Chinese people published before April 2016 were analyzed. Results Fifteen studies were included, after excluding 1 low quality study, the rest had no statistical heterogeneity. The merged odd ratio (OR) was 1.71,95 % confidence interval (CI) 1.51-1.90.Two studies observed the relationship between the amount of cigarettes and TB pathogenesis, but there was heterogeneity and could not be further merged the OR value for conducting analysis. No subgroup analysis of gender was performed in all studies. Conclusion The risk suffering from pulmonary TB in Chinese smokers is 1.71 fold of non-smokers,and smoking increases the risk of pulmonary TB onset.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the TRAb-producing cell precursors and different clinical stages of Graves' disease. Methods Peripheral lymphocytes were infected with Epstein-Barr virus,a kind of lymphocyte precursor stimulator, and were stimulated to produce TRAb.Results Of the total wells containing Ig-producing B cell precursors, there were 34.6% and 29.1% from 2 untreated patients,30% from 1 relapsing patient and only 1.3% and 3.8% from 2 healthy controls that secreted TRAb,respectively. As for the wells containing B cell precursors from 2 remission patients with undetectable TRAb in circulation, the percentage (10.7%) of TRAb-containing wells from one was higher than that from the other (5.3%).And the latter had similar percentage of TRAb-positive wells with the controls. The isotype of TRAb in supernatants of our EBV-transformed B lymphocytes was predominantly IgM.Conclusion The frequencies of TRAb-specific precursors were different at three distinct clinical stages of the disease.

Objective To study the different extraction condition on naringin content in Drynaria extract. Methods The Naringin content in Drynaria extract was determined by HPLC.The e ffect of extraction solutions, drying temperature(60℃,100℃and 120℃)and drying time (0,0.5,1.0,1.5,2.0,5.0,10.0,25.0,50.0hours respectively)on naringin content in Drynaria extract was investigated. Results The optimal extraction solution for Drynaria extract was water, and the loss of naringin enhan ced with the increase of drying temperature and the prolongation of dryin g time.Con-clusion The result can provide references fo r the extraction technology, preparation selection and quality control of the compound including Rhizoma Drynariae.

Objective To investigate the effect of photochemical gene transfection on colon cancer cells mediated by polycation. Methods Based on SW480 and HT29 colon carcinoma cell culture, the intracellular localization of meso-tetraphenylporphine disulfonate(TPPS_(2a)) were observed by laser confocal scanning microscopy(LCSM).Photochemically induced cytotoxicity of TPPS_(2a) on SW480 and HT29 cell lines was evaluated by MTT assay.By flow cytometry, the light-induced transfection of EGFP plasmids mediated by PEI was studied. Results TPPS_(2a) exhibited typical vesicular localization in two colon carcinoma cell lines. The photochemical cytotoxicity based on TPPS_(2a) increased with light dose. The light dose of IC_(50) was 22 mW/cm~(2) for 6 min for SW480 cells and for 12 min for HT29 cells(wavelength: 405 nm).The light treatment based on TPPS_(2a) induced an increase in transfection efficiency to(29.61?1.15) for SW480 cells and(23.47?0.62) for HT29 cells(P

Objective To investigate the diagnostic values of model of end-stage with incorporation of serum sodium (MELD-Na) score, chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure assessment (CLIF-SOFA) score and APASL-ACLF research consortium score (AARC-ACLF) for evaluation of prognosis of hepatitis B virus related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF). Methods A total of 72 consecutive patients with HBV-ACLF were included in the study and divided into two groups (group A and group B) according to the prognosis in three-month. Group A were included 29 patients with stable disease or better after medical treatment at least for 3 months, and group B included 43 patients who were dead after treatment or received liver transplantation as failure of medical treatment. When the patients were diagnosed as ACLF or after admission, the data were collected. Results of the laboratory examination were collected when the international normalized ratio (INR) was minimum. Data of total bilirubin (TBIL), prothrombin time (PT), INR, serum creatinine (Cr), serum sodium (Na), albumin (ALB), MELD-Na, CLIF-SOFA and AARC-ACLF scores were calculated respectively. The comparative analysis was performed. Areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC-ROC) of MELD-Na and CLIF-SOFA scores were used to assess the short-term prognosis in patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure. Results The values of TBIL, INR, MELD-Na, AARC-ACLF and CLIF-SOFA were significantly higher in group B than those in group A (P<0.05). The serum level of Na was significantly lower in group B than that of group A (P<0.05). The area under curve (AUC) values generated by the ROC curves was higher for CLIF-SOFA score (AUC 0.887) than that of MELD-Na score (AUC 0.764) (Z=2.255, P<0.0167). The AUC values generated by the ROC curves showed no significant differences between CLIF-SOFA score and AARC-ACLF score (AUC 0.825) or MELD-Na score and AARC-ACLF score (Z=1.361, 1.127, P>0.0167). The cut-off scores of MELD-Na, CLIF-SOFA and AARC-ACLF were 23.84, 8.50 and 8.50 respectively. Conclusion MELD-Na, CLIF-SOFA and AARC-ACLF scores have appreciable values to evaluate the prognosis in patients with HBV-related ACLF. AARC-ACLF is better than that of MELD-Na and CLIF-SOFA in assessing prognosis of HBV-related ACLF.
