Objective To explore the curative effect of minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy in treatment of recurrence of kidney stones after open operation.Methods 56 patients with postoperative recurrence of renalcalculi were retrospectively reviewed.They were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group.The observation group was treated by minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy,while the control group received the open operation.The stone clearance rate,operation time and hospitalization time of the two groups were compared.Results The stone clearance rate in the observation group was 92.86％,which was significantly higher than 64.29％ of the control group (x2 =11.37,P ＜ 0.05) ; The average operation time in the control group was (131.8 ± 8.9)min,which was more than (92.5 ± 5.4)min of the observation group ;The average hospital stay in the control group was (19.7 ± 3.2) days,which was more than (10.4 ± 2.6)days of the observation group,the differences were statistically significant (t =16.38,17.25,all P ＜0.05).Conclusion Minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy can improve the stone clearance rate in treatment of recurrent renal calculi after open operation,which can shorten the operation time and hospital stay,it is worth the clinical promotion.

Ginseng and its effective components are famous for their influence to enhance human immunity, regulate endocrine and antioxidant action. However, the different effects of different components are not clear. In this study, Wistar rats were used to study the effects of main components of ginseng, including total ginsenoside, panaxadiol saponins, panaxtrol saponin and ginseng polysaccharide. The results showed that the effects of panaxadiol saponins and ginseng polysaccharide on improving animal immune organ weight, plasma interleukin 2 (IL-2), interleukin 6 (IL-6), plasma gamma-interferon (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) were better than that of the other groups. Total ginsenoside and panaxtrol saponin can effectively increase the concentration of spleen NK cells (NKC) while panaxadiol saponins and ginseng polysaccharide can significantly increase the concentrations of rat plasma adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH), corticosterone (CORT) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). As for the effect of increasing organization nitric oxide (NO) and superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH) and malondialdehyde (MDA), total ginsenoside is better than that of other groups. In brief, different components in ginseng possess different effects on enhancing immunity, regulating endocrine and resisting oxidation. Panaxadiol saponins and ginseng polysaccharide are better in enhancing immune, and total ginsenoside shows advantages in resisting oxidation and stress.

Myopia is the most important cause of visual impairment in adolescents. However, its etiology is complex. In recent years, a large number of epidemiological studies have been done on risk factors of myopia. Most of these studies is cross- sectional study, not longitudinal cohort study. Overall, the incidence of myopia is the result of the interaction between genetic susceptibility and environmental exposure. This review is about the risk factors for myopia.

This study is to investigate the protective effect of mangiferin on NF-kappaB (P65) and IkappaBalpha expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) in rats with cigarette smoke induced chronic bronchitis. The rat model with chronic bronchitis was established by cigarette smoke. Real-time fluorescence RT-PCR was executed for evaluating the NF-kappaB (P65) and IKkappaBalpha gene expression in mononuclear cell, and flow cytometry for their protein expression. The serum hs-CRP (high-sensitivity C-reactive proteins) and TNF-alpha (tumor necrosis factor-alpha) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The histopathological score was obtained from lung tissue HE staining slides of lung tissue. The results showed that mangiferin could markedly suppress the NF-kappaB (P65) mRNA and protein expression in mononuclear cell, while promote the IkappaBalpha mRNA and protein expression. Furthermore, mangiferin could lower serum hs-CRP and TNF-alpha level, and reduce the chronic inflammatory damage of bronchiole. These results suggested that mangiferin could notably ameliorate chronic bronchiole inflammation induced by cigarette smoke, and this protective effect might be linked to the regulation of NF-kappaB (P65) and IkappaBalpha expression in mononuclear cell.

Objective To study the conventional MRI and dittusion weighted imaging(DWI) features of Japanese encephalitis(JE)in children.Methods Sixteen patients with JE were included. Conventional MRI and DWI sequences were performed in all patients.Seven patients received MRI within 10 days of onset and 9 after 10 days.The appearances on DWI and T_2 WI were recorded.The ADC values of lesions were calculated,and then were correlated with the corresponding time interval between onset of neurological symptoms and MRI scanning.Results The lesions of JE mainly showed long T_1 and long T_2 signal intensity on MRI.The thalami were the most frequently involved areas,and 15 out of 16 showed thalamic involvement and 6 patients only showed thalamic abnormalities without other lesions.Seven patients within 10 days of onset showed lesions with high signal intensity on both DWI and T_2WI,but whole or partial lesions showed clearer on DWI than on T_2WI,and 2 patients showed extra lesions that were invisible on T_2WI.As for the other 9 patients after 10 days of onset,the lesions showed clearer on T_2WI than on DWI. Objective:To purify HLA-DR molecules. Methods: Anti-HLA-DR antibody L243 was purified and coupled with CNBr activated Sepharose 4B gel. Immunoaffinity column was used to purify HLA-DR molecules. Results:Twenty micrograms of HLA-DR molecules were isolated from about 5 g Epstein-Barr virus-transformed human B lymphoblastoid cell line RAJI lysates by affinity chromatography. The purified HLA-DR molecules existed in α/β heterodimers form and could bind to conformation-dependent antibody L243. These HLA-DR molecules were separated into two strands,α and β,by boiling denaturation. These results are the basis for studying MHC Ⅱ binding peptide motif and CD4＋ T cell epitopes of antigens in future.

OBJECTIVETo assess the influence of polymorphisms of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene on response to antidepressant treatment.

METHODSTwo hundred and eight one Chinese Han patients have received single antidepressant drugs for at least 6 weeks, among whom 275 were followed up for 8 weeks. Hamilton depression scale 17 (HAMD-17) was used to evaluate the severity of depressive symptoms and therapeutic effects. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the MTHFR gene were determined using gene chips. Associations of single loci and haplotypes with response to treatment were analyzed using an Unphased 3.0.13 software.

RESULTSNo significant differences in gender, age, year of education, family history, episode times, and antidepressant agents were found between responders and non-responders (all P U+003E 0.05), while the baseline scores of HAMD-17 was significantly different(t=2.891, P=0.004). There was also no significant difference between age, years of education, family history, baseline scores of HAMD-17 and antidepressant agents between remitters and non-remitters (both P U+003E 0.05), while proportion of male patients was significantly higher in non-remission group than remission group (t=2.381, P=0.018), and episode times in non-remission group was significantly higher (t=-1.983, P=0.049). Single locus association analysis has found no significant association between SNPs rs1801131 and rs1801133 in the MTHFR gene with antidepressant response (P U+003E 0.05). On the other hand, haplotype A-C of MTHFR gene (rs1801131 and rs1801133) was significantly associated with antidepressant response in total group (U+03C7 2=11.39, P=0.0007), male subgroup (U+03C7 2=8.767, P=0.003) and serotonin noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) subgroup (U+03C7 2=10.51, P=0.001).

CONCLUSIONParticular haplotype of MTHFR gene may be related with antidepressant effect, in which the haplotype (rs1801131, rs1801133) A-C type may be associated with better antidepressant efficacy, particularly in males and patients receiving SNRIs drugs.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a genetic heterogeneous disease in which primordial and juvenile myeloid cells proliferate or accumulate abnormally in bone marrow, peripheral blood and other tissues, resulting in damage to normal hematopoietic function. Studies have shown that about 30% of AML patients have FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3), FLT3 abnormal regulation is closely related to the occurrence and development of AML. At present, FLT3 has become an important target for developing small molecular targeted drugs. Currently, a variety of FLT3 inhibitors and FLT3 degraders have been developed targeting FLT3, and some compounds have exhibited good anti-AML activity. This article summarizes and sorts out the current mainstream drugs for AML therapeutic targeting FLT3, in order to provide a reference for the development and design of AML drugs.

Objective To determine the genotypes and their epidermiology of microlide, lincosamide and streptogramin B(MLS_B)resistant S.epidermidis isolates causing nosocomial infection.Method 126 isolates were collected from inpatients in three hospitals in Beijing from 2003-2004 for testing the antibiotic susceptibility to the macrolide erythromycin,the lincosamide clindamycin.The resistance phenotypes of erythromycin-resistant isolates were determined by the double-disc test with erythromycin and clindamycin.The presence of the relative genes(ermA,ermB,ermC and msrA)to MLS_B resistance was identified by PCR and the similarity of the isolates was analyzed by PFGE.Result The isolates were mostly resistant to macrolide and lincosamide.In the constitutive phenotype cMLS_B isolates,the methicillin resistant S.epidermidis(MRSE)proportion appeared high(78.5%),whereas high methicillin susceptible S.epidermidis(MSSE)proportion was found in the inducible MLS_B phenotype(iMLS_B) (69.2%).ermC was shown as the most frequent determinant to the resistance,not only in MRSE and MSSE (70.8% and 6.8%),but also in iMLS_B and cMLS_B(76.9% and 90.3%).No specific endemic strain was found by PFGE analysis.The same resistance phenotype pattern was not clustered together and distributed into type A～F at the similarity of 60%.Among the phenotypes(cMLS_B,iMLS_B and MS phenotype),no significant difference was shown in the PFGE genotype distribution.Conclusion Our results indicate that the MLS_B resistance in S.epidermidis causing nosocomial infection is prevalent in the hospital and MLS_B antibiotics should be used iudiciously,ermC was shown as the most frequent determinant to the resistance.

To introduce scientific research innovation into undergraduate education, cultivating innovative talents has been an urgent mission of current higher education. This article reviewed our experience, with the introduction of producing-studying-researching platform built on original innovative achievements of Chongqing medical university,of training physical medicine physician to be practical talents of large-scale diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipments, and was aimed to explore introducing producing-studying-researching platform into undergraduate education as well as improve personnel training quality of undergraduates.
