This article was aimed to study effect of D-ribose on the high-energy phosphate metabolism of skeletal muscle tissues of tired mice. The model was made by burden swimming. And then, the mice were divided into four groups, which were the model group, D-ribose group, caffeine group, and D-ribose with caffeine group). Intragastric administrations of drugs were given to all mice in four groups, three times per day. And all mice continued to swim for three days. The time of swimming was recorded. Gastrocnemius of mice were removed after swimming or 3 days later to measure the concentration of ATP, ADP, AMP and IMP with the HPLC. The results showed that compared with the control group, the time of burden s wimming was significantly prolonged for mice in the D-ribose group and the D-ribose with caffeine group. After three-day recovery, the concentration of ATP, AMP and IMP of gastrocnemius in the D-ribose group and the D-ribose with caffeine group mice was significantly increased. There was no significant difference in the caffeine group mice. It was concluded that D-ribose is involved in the high-energy phosphate metabolism of skeletal muscle tissues of tired mice . D-ribose promotes the recovery of ATP concentration in the gastrocnemius of tired mice, and prolongs the time of burden swimming. Therefore, it has a certain anti-fatigue effect .

In this cross-sectional survey,2 682 traffic policemen in Tianjin were enrolled,and they were tested with Occupational Stress Inventory-Revised (OSI-R) and Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90).Body mass index,blood pressure,fasting blood glucose,triglycerides,and high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol ( HDL-C ) were also determined at the same time. Correlation analysis showed that body mass index was positively correlated with somatization ( r =0.039,P =0.045 ),hostility ( r =0.046,P =0.01 8 ),and psychoticism ( r =0.041,P =0.036).Systolic blood pressure was positively correlated to somatization (r =0.056,P =0.004 ),obsessive-compulsiveness ( r =0.044,P =0.023 ),interpersonal sensitivity ( r =0.041,P =0.034 ),depression ( r =0.039,P =0.043),anxiety ( r =0.055,P =0.004 ),and psychoticism ( r =0.051,P =0.009 ).Diastolic blood pressure was positively correlated to somatization ( r =0.047,P =0.015 ),interpersonal sensitivity ( r =0.042,P =0.030 ),anxiety ( r =0.050,P =0.010 ),and psychoticism ( r =0.047,P =0.014 ).Fasting blood glucose was positively correlated to somatization ( r=0.042,P=0.028 ).Multiple regression analysis showed that occupational stress factors were role boundary,physical environment,responsibility,recreation,role ambiguity,role overload,and cognitive coping.Among these factors,role ambiguity and cognitive coping reduced occupational stress while others increased the stress.The results of the unconditional logistical regression analysis showed that there is an independent association of metabolic syndrome with somatization,role insufficiency,and physical strain for the task and body tension ( P＜0.01).

Objective To explore the inhibitory effect of Oldenlandia diffusa extract on colorectal cancer angiogenesis in BALB/c mice. Methods Thirty-two BALB/c mice with subcutaneous CT26 colon cancer animal model were randomly equally divided into four groups,including the control group (groupⅠ,saline 0.1 mL/(10. d), O. diffusa ethanol extract of 90 mg/(kg.d) (groupⅡ), O. diffusa ethanol extract of 180 mg/(kg.d) (groupⅢ) and O. diffusa ethanol extract of 360 mg/(kg.d) (group Ⅳ) . Each group of mice were treated with intragastric administration of law administration 12 days after vaccination, then stopped and continue fed to 32 days, and the mice were killed. Micro-vascular dense ( MVD) was observed and countered under the microscopy by immunohistory chemistry. Results The murine colon tumor volumes of GroupⅡ,ⅢandⅣwere significantly less than that of groupⅠ,with significant difference ( <0.05) . The tumor microvessel density values of four groups was (7.83±2.87), (5.32±1.27), (1.77±0.70) and (1.87±0.68),respectively. The number of tumor blood vessels in GroupⅡ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ were significantly less than that of Ⅰ group, with significant difference ( <0.05) . Conclusion Within a certain dose range, the ethanol extract of O. diffusa can significantly inhibit the mouse colon cancer and the mechanism may be realated to inhibiting tumor angiogenesis.

Objective To investigate the effects of social skills training on behavior problems of children aged 6-13 years.Methods 168 children with behavior problems were selected as the sample,who received social skill training by health education teachers for 12 weeks.The Rutter Parent and Teacher Scale and PHCSS(Children' s self-concept Scale) were used to evaluate the effect before and after intervention.Results After intervention,the total scores,A and N scores of the Rutter Parent Scale decreased significantly((5.42±6.23) vs (0.62± 1.77),(1.68±2.63) vs (0.50±2.74),(2.04±4.27) vs (0.36±0.65),P＜0.05).The total scores,A and N scores of the Rutter Teacher Scale decreased significantly((4.35±4.11) vs (0.62± 1.77),(1.56±3.65) vs (0.21 ±0.44),(1.32±2.48) vs (0.36±0.65),P＜0.05).The total score and different factor scores of PHCSS increased significantly(P＜0.05).The clinical effectiveness of intervention group was better than control group.Conclusion Social skill training by teacher is acceptable and helpful to improve behavior problem,psychosocial competence and selfconcept for children with behavior problems.

Evaluation of the permeability mainly focuses on intestinal absorption in biopharmaceutics classification system (BCS). It is more complicated that the absorption and metabolism under multicomponent environment in biopharmaceutics classification system of Chinese materia medica (CMMBCS) compared with single component environment, which needs suitable mathematical models to be described. Therefore, with full consideration of existing single component mathematical algorithm combining with the characteristics of intestinal absorption and metabolism, we explored and designed a new mathematical algorithm of intestinal absorption and metabolism of multicomponent drug. Then we put forward a new coefficient, P (influence), the relative change rate of the single component's intestinal absorption and metabolism under multicomponent environment compared with single component environment, which described the influences of intestinal absorption and metabolism of the component under multicomponent environment. Moreover, P (influence) highlights the distinctive characteristics of multicomponent drug's intestinal absorption and metabolism, and lays the foundation for the construction of CMMBCS.

OBJECTIVETo study the releasing rate of chrysophanol from Ruyi Jinhuang plaster.

METHODBased on the detecting methods of releasing rate and residual dosage applied in (Pharmacopoeia of P. R. C) (2000 edition), the contents of chrysophanol were detected by HPLC.

RESULTChrysophanol in Ruyi Jinhuang plaster could well be released from plaster and to form medicinal concentration gradient.

CONCLUSIONChrysophanol in Ruyi-Jinhuang plaster can possibly be absorbed by skin.

To investigate the mechanism by which Schisandra Chinensis mediates the phenotypic transformation of microglia via microRNA-124 (miR-124)-based regulation of the Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) pathway, a model was established using lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation of BV2 cells. Cells were treated with different doses of Schisandra Chinensis extract (SCE). MiR-124 inhibitors and negative control sequences (NC inhibitor) were transfected into LPS-induced BV2 cells and treated with SCE. The MTT assay was used for cell activity detection; an NO kit was used to measure NO release; ELISA kits were used to measure the levels of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Microglia markers, including ionized calcium binding adapter molecule-1 (IBA-1) and arginase-1 (Arg-1), and the nuclear translocation of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) were evaluated by immunofluorescent staining. NF-κB p65, IBA-1, Arg-1, TLR4, myeloid differentiation primary factor 88 (MyD88), inhibitor of nuclear factor-kappa B kinases-α (IKK-α), IL-10, TNF-α were detected by immunoblot. SCE at concentrations ranging from 31.25 to 250 μg·mL^-1 had no significant effect on cell activity. SCE treatment significantly inhibited NO release induced by LPS (P < 0.001, P < 0.01), increased the level of IL-10 (P < 0.05), and decreased the level of TNF-α (P < 0.001). In addition, SCE significantly reduced the expression of TNF-α, IBA-1, TLR4, and MyD88 (P < 0.01, P < 0.001) and elevated the expression of IL-10, Arg-1, NF-κB P65 and IKK-α (P < 0.001, P < 0.01, P < 0.05). SCE treatment could also promote the expression of miR-124 (P < 0.01). However, transfection with the miR-124 inhibitor increased TNF-α (P < 0.001), decreased the level of IL-10 (P < 0.05), increased the mRNA level and the protein expression of TNF-α and IBA-1 (P < 0.05, P < 0.01, P < 0.001), and decreased the mRNA level and protein expression of IL-10 and Arg-1 (P < 0.001, P < 0.01). In addition, the inhibition of TLR4 and MyD88 was attenuated. In conclusion, SCE appears to inhibit the activation of TLR4 signaling pathway by upregulating miR-124 so as to inhibit microglia M1 polarization and promote microglia M2 polarization.

Effects of main environmental factors, such as temperature, pH , metal ions and anions, on expression and activity of bacterial extracellular car bonic anhydrase(CA) were studied, exemplified by a bacterium named GLRT102Ca, wh ich was separated from karst ecosystems of Southwest China. The results showed that the tested strain could express different activity of extracellular carboni c anhydrase within the scope of experimental temperature (10℃~50℃) and pH (5. 5~9.0). The activity of extracellular carbonic anhydrase was higher at tempera ture of 20℃~30℃ and at neutral and alkaline trending condition. Moreover, the expression of activity of extracellular carbonic anhydrase could be generally p romoted at the experimental range of concentration of 4 kinds of metal ions such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Zn2+ and Co2+, along with 8 kinds of ani ons such as SO2-_4, H_2PO-_4, NO-_3, NO-_2, Cl-,Br-, I- and HCO-_3. This research provides a cert ain theoretical basis for further study on the role of microbial CA in karst pro cesses.
