Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2016;36(2):212-216
Professor JIA Chunsheng believes that "Dongyuan's acupuncture therapy" proposed by GAO Wu could not entirely reflect LI Dongyuan's academic thought of acupuncture and moxibustion. Hence, we collected all of the academic works of LI Dongyuan and extracted the texts relevant with acupuncture-moxibustion therapy, titled as Dongyuan's acupuncture-moxibustion therapy. This process contributed to the deeper study on Dongyuan's acupuncture and moxibustion academic thought. By the influence of Dongyuan's acupuncture-moxibustion academic thought, in association with his clinical experience for dozens of years, Professor JIA Chunsheng proposed that acupuncture and moxibustion should pay attention to the regulation and tonification of spleen and kidney. In clinical practice, Zhongwan (CV 12), bilateral Tianshu (ST 25), Qihai (CV 6) and Guanyuan (CV 4) are commonly selected to consolidate the root, cultivate the primary and treat the spleen and kidney simultaneously. The locations of the above selected points are distributed like a star. This "star-like point selection method" points to the importance of the spleen and kidney (the primary qi). For many diseases, especially the disorders of internal injury, the star-like acupuncture therapy is commonly used and the relevant acupoints are supplemented. The good clinical efficacy has been achieved.

Abstract: Schistosomiasis, an important zoonotic parasitic disease, is one of the six major tropical diseases identified by WHO, and also one of the most important parasitic diseases for prevention and control in China. After more than 70 years of efforts, the prevention and control of schistosomiasis in China has made great achievements, and the current epidemic of schistosomiasis in China has entered an extremely low epidemic state, but the distribution base of the only intermediate host of schistosomiasis, Oncomelania hupensis, is still large. For now, the techniques used to monitor schistosomiasis have shortcomings such as time-consuming, laborious and low sensitivity, which cannot meet the current needs of China. Environmental DNA (eDNA) refers to DNA that can be extracted from environmental samples (such as soil, water or air) without isolating any target organisms, which is a complex mixture of genomic DNA and its degradation products from different organisms in the same environment. eDNA technology can reflect the community or species composition information in the ecosystem through DNA extraction and detection of environmental samples. Compared with traditional biological monitoring methods, eDNA technology has the advantages of high efficiency, high sensitivity and environmental friendliness. eDNA has been successfully used for the specific detection of Schistosoma mansoni, Schistosoma haematobium and Schistosoma japonicum. This paper reviews the current detection methods of eDNA, the application and technical limitations of eDNA technology in schistosomiasis monitoring, aiming to provide scientific reference for research in the field of schistosomiasis surveillance.

Objective:To analyze the mean levels of skeletal muscle mass and strength in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM), and to investigate the effects of chronic inflammatory factors and oxidative stress on them. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 120 patients with T2DM aged over 60 years and 126 elderly patients without diabetes(the control group). Skeletal muscle mass, strength and serum levels of chronic inflammatory factors interleukin-6(IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine(8-OHdG)were determined, and their effects on skeletal muscle mass and strength in elderly patients with T2DM were analyzed. Results:Compared with the control group, grip strength decreased in elderly patients with T2DM(25.03±7.85)kg vs.(29.52±7.73)kg( P<0.01), and skeletal muscle mass decreased(21.36±5.46)kg vs.(22.01±5.22)kg with no significant difference( P>0.05). Serum levels of 8-OHdG were higher in elderly patients with T2DM than in the control group(3.08±0.26)ng/L vs.(2.59±0.16)ng/L( P<0.01). Correlation and regression analysis results showed that 8-OHdG was an influencing factor for muscle strength in elderly patients with T2DM( R2=0.457)and that height and weight could be influencing factors for skeletal muscle mass in elderly patients with T2DM( R2=0.822). Conclusions:Skeletal muscle mass and strength decline in elderly T2DM patients, probably as a result of increased levels of oxidative stress. These findings may serve as evidence for sarcopenia intervention in elderly T2DM patients.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the immunogenicity of the decellularized laryngeal scaffold.
METHODSTwelve perfused, decellularized laryngeal scaffolds were obtained from rabbits through common carotid artery perfusion with detergents. The twelve decellularized laryngeal scaffolds and the twelve fresh larynxes were then implanted in para-laryngeal muscles of rabbits and harvested after two weeks, four weeks, twelve weeks and twenty-four weeks, respectively. Macroscopic view, histological examination and lymphocyte infiltration test were performed.
RESULTSThe decellularized larynxes were implanted and preserved the laryngeal extracellular matrix and laryngeal architecture. The decellularized larynx did not show obvious immunological rejection after implanted into the para-laryngeal muscles of the recipient rabbits. The volume of implanted larynx became smaller but retained cartilage scaffold. The larynxes in the control group presented the serious immunological rejection and the majority tissues of the larynxes were disintegrated and substituted by the fibrous connective tissues after four weeks. The peripheral tissues were damaged and necrotic at different degrees. The quantity of the lymphocyte infiltration in the control group was higher than that in the experiment group and the result had the statistical significance (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONSPerfused, decellularized technique can construct a low immune laryngeal cartilage scaffold which could be a satisfactory material for laryngeal repair.

Journal of Modern Laboratory Medicine 2018;33(2):82-85
Objective To explore the correlation between the expression of serum specific antibody IgM,IgG and IgA in the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in hospitalized children, and the antibody indexes with early auxiliary diagnostic signifi cance were screened. Methods Using fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (FQ-PCR) to screen 50 cases of throat swabs which RSV RNA were positive in hospitalized children from 2015 to 2017 and using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detected specific antibodies IgM,IgG and lgA in the children's serum.Meanwhile 95 cases of children's serum specimens without respiratory symptoms were taken as the control group. The results were analyzed by chi-square test. Results In the 50 cases of serum from children who's RSV RNA were positive from throat swabs, the positive rates of IgM,IgG,IgA and the three forms coming together were 24.00%,60.00%00,22.00% and 16.00% respectively. And the difference was statistically significant (x2 =28.19,P<0.01).About the serums which were the same gender child patient in the experimental group and the control group, the positive rates of IgM,IgG and IgA had significant differences (x2 =9.16,P<0.01).There was no significant difference in the positive rate of each antibody in the same experimental group or control group or control group (x2 =0.10,P>0.05).IgM,IgG and IgA were not detected in acute laryngotracheal bronchitis.Only 1 case with IgG was detected in the acute upper respiratory infection. It was the highest that the detection rates of IgG in bronchial pneumonia and acute bronchitis were 41.38% and 23.53%,and IgA was not been detected alone. In the group of <6 months,IgM and IgA were not detected within 7 days and 21 days.In the group of 1~5 years old,the positive rate of IgM within 7 days was 50%,which was the highest in all groups. And IgM,IgG and IgA could be detected in 21 days also. The positive rates of IgG and IgA in the age group of 5~10 years old were 100% and 66.67% respectively. Conclusion Specific antibodies of RSV-IgM,IgG and IgA cannot be used as a diadynamic criteria alone in early RSV infection. The spe cific antibody was not affected by gender.Upper respiratory tract infection RSV was difficult to produce IgM,IgG and IgA.The younger the child, was the slower the IgM and IgA were produced. At the same time,IgG was able to vertical transmis sion and it had no protective effect on body. That RSV could infect the body and cause clinical respiratory symptoms would be related with immunity. Finally,IgA was the earliest specific antibody and could not be alone.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2020;22(9):1347-1351
Objective:To investigate the mechanism of crush syndrome (CS) induced by crush injury on myocardial cells in rats. Methods:Thirty two male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into control group, CS-0 group, CS-12 group and CS-24 group with 8 rats in each group. CS model was made by self-made extruder and perfused with 4% paraformaldehyde for 0, 12 and 24 h. The morphological changes of myocardial tissue were observed by hematoxylin staining. The apoptosis of cardiomyocytes was detected by terminal dexynucleotide transferase-mediated nick end labeling (TUNEL). The levels and activities of malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), lactose dehydrogenase (LDH), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-1 β (IL-1 β), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF- α) in myocardial homogenate were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The expressions of Caspase-3, Bax, Bcl-2 and necrosis factor-κB (NF-κ B) were detected by Western blot. Results:Compared with the control group, the myocardial tissue of CS model group had different degrees of morphological damage; compared with the control group, the apoptosis rate, Caspase-3 and Bax protein expression levels of CS-0 group, CS-12 group and CS-24 group were significantly increased ( P<0.05), and the expression level of Bcl-2 protein was significantly decreased ( P<0.05); compared with the control group, the levels of MDA, LDH, IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α and p65 protein phosphorylation in the myocardial homogenate of CS-0 group, CS-12 group and CS-24 group were significantly increased ( P<0.05), and SOD activity was significantly decreased ( P<0.05). Conclusions:CS may inhibit oxidative stress and induce inflammatory reaction by activating NF-κ B pathway, thus damaging myocardial cells in rats.
