AIM: To evaluate the use of 23G minimally invasive vitreous cutting system in the first stage of anterior segment reconstruction on severe ocular injury.
METHODS: Fifteen patients with ocular injuries including the corneal and scleral rupture associated hyphema, vitreous hernia in anterior chamber, traumatic lens rupture, lens subluxation, applied 23G minimally invasive vitreous cutting system in the first stage of anterior segment reconstruction.
RESULTS: The anterior ocular media of early postoperative became transparent quickly. No exudative lemma and no complications were found relate to puncture incisions after operations.
CONCLUSION:23G minimally invasive vitreous cutting system can be used in the first stage of anterior segment reconstruction on sever ocular injury. It can reduce iatrogenic injury, operative complications and inflammatory response, also can shorten therapeutic time and create favorable conditions.

Objective To investigate the expressions of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptors (GLP-1R) and cytokeratin17 (CK17) in papillary thyroid cancer tissue and clinicopathological significance.Methods The immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting method were employed to detect the expressions of GLP-1R and CK17 in normal thyroid tissues (control group,50 cases) and papillary thyroid cancer tissue (observation group,80 cases).Then the correlation between the expressions of GLP-1R and CK17 with pathological factors of thyroid cancer was analyzed.Results Low expression of GLP-1R was found in 22 cases (44.00 ％) of the control group,while GLP-1R was expressed in 77 cases(96.25 ％) of the observation group,and the difference between both groups was statistically significant(P＜0.01).The expression of CK17 was positive in 8 cases(16.00％) of the control group,while 77 cases(96.25 ％) in the observation group were CK17 expression positive,and the difference between both groups was statistically significant(P＜0.01).The difference between GLP-1 positive expression and clinicopathologic factors had no statistical significance(P＞0.05).The difference between CK17 expression with sex and age had no statistical significance (P＞0.05),and was obviously related with the tumor diameter,clinical stages and cervical node metastasis of thyroid neoplasms(P＜0.05).Conclusion GLP-1R and CK17 all are highly expressed in papillary thyroid cancer tissue and CK17 expression is obviously related with the tumor diameter,clinical stages and cervical node metastasis of papillary thyroid cancer.

AIM: To establish the NMR fingerprint of the “Compound Renshen Injection”(Radix Ginseng,Pericarpium citri Reticulata,etc),including intermediate and injection so as to control the quality of the injection. METHODS : NMR was applied to analyze intermediate and injection,establishing the fingerprint of them by contrasting and analyzing the graphs. RESULTS : The fingerprint of intermediate and injection was established,further more,the fingerprint of them showed an excellent recurrence and stabilization. CONCLUSION : This method of NMR has the advantages of accuracy and good repeatability and can be used for the quality control of Compound Renshen Injection.

Objective To screen 18 endophytes from Pseudolarix kaempferi Gord for molluscicidal effect and identify them by morphology. Methods Molluscicidal tests were performed according to the immersion test suggested by WHO and the strain screened was identified by the slide culture. Results The mortality rates of snails immersed by JJ18 broth salified (pH=7) were 26.7%, 76.7% and 100.0% for 24,48 h and 72 h, respectively, and 53.3% and 86.7% in 5% and 10% concentrations of JJ18 broth, respectively. The active components were extracellular moiety of the broth which had no acute toxicity to fish, and JJ18 strain belonged to Aspergillus. Conclusion Extracellular moiety of endophyte JJ18 from Pseudolarix kaempferi Gord is a new resource of molluscicide.

Objective To examine among preschool children the validity, reliability and sensitivity of a new assessment tool of Mandarin sentence recognition in babble noise, consisting of twenty-seven equivalent lists, as well as to investigate the effect of age and gender on children's speech recognition. Methods Fifty-four normalhearing children aged 4 to 6 years were recruited from Beijing and were divided into three age groups (4～, 4.5～,and 5.0～6.0 years) containing 18 children each, half boys and half girls. According to randomized split-plot design, we examined their speech recognition ability with 27 sentence-in-babble-noise lists in a sound-treated booth in a kindergarten (ambient noise ＜40 dB). The sentences were presented at fixed intensity of 65 dB SPL, paired with competing babble noise at three different signal to noise ratios (SNR= +1, -2, -5 dB) by the same loudspeaker with 0° azimuth. Speech recognition score were calculated based on the children's repetition of keySNR functions exhibited that the threshold was -1.96±0. 19 dB SNR and the slope was 15.8%±1.1%/dB for of variance and Post- Hoc Scheffe test indicated that significant differences in performance were most pronounced between the 4～ year group and the other two groups (P＜0.001), while there was no significant difference between 4.5～ year group and 5.0～6. 0 year group (P=0. 90). The girls' performance was also significantly better than boys' (P＜0. 001). Conclusion The 27 lists of Mandarin speech recognition in babble noise were equivalent among children, and the sensitivity of performance versus SNR was 15.8%/dB. Both of them were below the adult averchildren aged 4.5～ up years. Even though the performance differed between boys and girls, the difference was relatively small compared to 24.6%, the critical difference as the reliability indicator.

At present, the clinical skills training process for ultrasound medicine professional postgraduates is still facing many problems, such as inadequate guidance from tutors, little accumulation of clinical knowledge and practice, not solid basic ultrasonic skills, imperfect assessment system, and disconnection between scientific research and clinical practice. Analyzing the cause of problems, combining with the characteristics of ultrasound medicine and our experience in the clinical skills training process, we have put forward targeted solutions, such as building a complete and efficient training team, attaching importance to rotation and cultivation of relevant clinical departments, realizing teaching objectives by different levels and stages, establishing a perfect management, supervision and assessment system, paying attention to the combination of clinical and scientific research ability, so as to improve the quality and efficiency of clinical skills training process of ultrasound medicine.

Site-saturation mutagenesis is a newly-developed technology in protein engineering.By manipulating the encoding genes,it can rapidly obtain the mutants of desired proteins whose target residues are substituted by 19 other common amino acids.Site-saturation mutagenesis could serve not only as a powerful tool in protein engineering,but also as an important method in exploring the structure-function relationship of proteins.Several techniques were summarized to achieve site-saturation mutagenesis and introduce their application status in the protein engineering.The problem and promising future of its application were also discussed.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of compound Danshen injection combined with prostaglandin E1 low molecular weight heparin calcium to dextran-40 preventing hepatic veno-occlusive disease (HVOD) after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT).

METHODSA total of 520 patients who received HSCT in the authors' hospital from May 1998 and December 2009 were subjected, among whom 231 patients received autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation, 125 received HLA-identical sibling HSCT, 49 received HLA-identical/mismatched unrelated HSCT and 115 received HLA-haplotype HSCT. All patients were treated by intravenous dripping of CSI 40-60 mL, dextran-40 250-500 mL, prostaglandin-E1 40-60 microg, and subcutaneous injection of low molecular weight heparin calcium 3 000-5 000 IU every day, the preventive effect on HVOD after HSCT was observed.

RESULTSHVOD occurred and caused death only in 1 case of the 520 patients observed, the incidence was 0.19%. Neither obvious adverse reaction nor coagulation disorder was found.

CONCLUSIONCompound Danshen Injection combined with prostaglandin E1, low molecular weight heparin calcium and dextran-40 is a safe and effective protocol for the prevention of HVOD after HSCT.
