Objective:To explore the resource of rice bran by comparing antioxidative activities and growth promotion of Bacillus bifidus between supernatant of formented rice bran(RBF) by Bacillus natto and water extract of rice bran(RBW) . Method:The reducing capacity the?OH and ??O 2 scavenging capacity and the inhibitory effect to oxidize lard were determined in vitro. The growth promotion for Bacillus bifidus by photodensity with simulated condition was investigated in vivo. Results:RBF and RBW had antioxidant activity in vitro. The IC50 of scavenging?OH and ??O 250 of RBF was 3.55 mg/ml and 23.5 mg/ml,0.3 and 10 folds higher than that of RBW respectively. In inhibiting oxidation of lard,RBF had a little higher antioxidative activities than RBW,near VE. RBF and RBW could promot growth of Bacillus bifidus by 65.2% and 17.8% respectively. By enzymatic digestion,the promotive rate of RBF was still 51.6%. Conclusion:RBF had higher antioxidant activity and growth promotion to Bacillus bifidus.

Neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM) is a glycoprotein expressing on the surface of neurons, glial cells, bone cells and natural killer cells. NCAM plays an important role in the process of cell - cell adhesion and cell migration, and is also a model protein to study polysialic acid. In this paper, NCAM gene from mouse mammary gland cells (NMuMG) was cloned into eukaryotic expression vectors pcDNA3.1(+) and transfected into mutant Chinese hamster ovary cells ldlD-14. The stable transfection over-expressing NCAM was obtained through the G418 selection and confirmed by Western blotting. Due to unique characters of ldlD-14 cells, carbohydrate chain of NCAM molecule can be easily manipulated with or without adding galactose in the serum free medium, and this modification can provide the basis for further studies on the effect of glycosylation on NCAM molecular function.

OBJECTIVETo screen antifungal activity of endophytes from Pseudolarix kaempferi.

METHODEndophytes from P. kaempferi were separated. By means of microdilution method, antifungal active endophytes were fast screened by Pyricularia oryzae P-2b model, and activity of endophytes against pathogenic fungus was studied.

RESULT44.8% of endophytes showed activity against P. oryzae P-2b in Pseudolarix kaempferi. Among them JJ314, JJ323 introduced formation of characteristic beads and swellings on the growing hyphae, JJ324 inhibited the conidia germination. They all showed activity against Trichophyton rubrum, Cryptococcus neoformans and Candida albicans.

CONCLUSIONEndophytes from P. kaempferi are a potential resource for the development of antifungal agent.

Hepatitis B is one of the most serious global threats to human health. Phylogenetic analysis of hepatitis B virus (HBV) can reveal the evolutionary relationship between HBV sequences and thus provide a basis for the prediction and treatment of hepatitis B and other aspects. In this study, we performed sequence analyses on the HBV sequences of five clinical HBV samples and the HBV sequences retrieved from the GenBank, EMBL, and DDBJ to construct a phylogenetic tree and analyze sequence structures. The experimental results revealed that the C gene of one cloned sequence had a recombinant structure of HBV B/ C subtype. Moreover, the phylogenetic results proved the existence of a newly found subtype HBV/B6 in Xishuangbanna of Yunnan Province, China. The experimental conclusion represents certain value for phylogenetic studies of HBV in Yunnan ethnic minority groups.

OBJECTIVEA method for determined oxygen permeability (Dk) of finished soft contact lens.

METHODSOxygen permeability(Dk) of 10 group finished soft contact lens was determined by polarographic method, and the values were linearly calibrated using the measured and established Dk values of the specified reference materials.

RESULTSOnly one Dk value fell outside of the requirement of GB 11417.3-2012 tolerance for Dk (± 20%).

CONCLUSIONIt is great practicability when determined the oxygen permeability (Dk) of finished soft contact lens by polarographic method which were linearly calibrated using the measured and established Dk values of the specified equal thickness reference materials without the measured lens customized 4 different thickness.

Aim To observe histopathological changes of hippocampus after acute epilepsy induced by penty-lenetetrazole (PTZ)in rats.Methods Five groups as control group,PTZ-induced 24 hours(h)group,PTZ-induced 72 hours group,PTZ-induced 1 20 hours group and PTZ-induced 1 44 hours group were designed.PTZ (64 mg·kg -1 )was administered with a single intrap-eritoneal injection for generalized tonic-clonic sei-zures in the current experiment.Control and PTZ trea-ted animals were sacrificed after specific time points. Brain was dissected out and then evaluated for neuro-pathological changes using Nissl staining and immuno-histochemical technique.Results In this study PTZ-induced hippocampal neuron status apoptosis occurred at 24 hours and was sustained for 1 44 hours after status epilepticus.Whereas,activated caspase-3 and AIF ap-peared at 24 hours and were sustained for 1 44 hours af-ter status epilepticus.Conclusion The results of this study show that the significant histopathological chan-ges of hippocampus appear in the vicinity of 1 20 hours after intraperitoneal injection of pentylenetetrazole.

Objective Establishing a fingerprint method to identify the characteristic chemicals in the roots of Gentiana macrophylla and evaluate their quality.Methods RP-HPLC was developed for fingerprint analysis and determination of four ingredients in G macrophylla roots from different sources.LC-ESI-TOF-MS was employed to identify the chromatographic peaks of the fingerprint.Results Five common peaks were identified by comparing their retention time with reference secoiridoid glucosides.Eight major peaks in chromatographic fingerprint were analyzed by on-line LC-ESI-TOF-MS.Four secoiridoid glucosides were identified based on their MS data.Conclusion The method is specific and could be served for the quality identification and comprehensive evaluation of G macrophylla.

Nutrient imbalances may cause many diseases such as gastrointestinal diseases,cardiovascular diseases,diabetes,obesity,and cancer.In this environment,health products have emerged.At present,there are a wide variety of health care products at home and abroad,which are broadly divided into three categories:traditional vitamins,emerging nutrient products,and extracts of natural plant active ingredients.In the early 1970s,the sales of health products in the United States had reached 170 million dollars.At present,it has nearly 100 billion dollars,which is almost 1/3 of the total food sales, people's demand for health products is increasing rapidly. In recent years, Chinese medicine health products become more popular in western,in fact, Chinese medicine health products have a long history of application in China and have a good reputation in the folk. Obviously, Chinese medicine health products have great potential for development.So this article mainly compared the de-velopment and state of health products between China and west countries.Based on the development of health products in western countries, this article analyzes the development trend and prospects for the development of Chinese medicine health products. It is roughly divided into three parts. The first part introduces the development reasons and history of western health products development.The sec-ond part introduces the history of Chinese health products and the current situation of Chinese medi-cine health products. The third part guesses the development trend of Chinese medicine health prod-ucts and provides some development ideas. The purpose of this airticle is to provide reference and ideas for the future research and development of traditional Chinese medicine health products.
