OBJECTIVETo investigate the influence of Rehmannia glutinosa oligosaccharides (ROS) on the proliferation of 3T3-L1 adipocytes and insulin resistance.
METHOD3T3-L1 preadipocytes were cultured, the proliferation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was detected by MTT method. Insulin resistant 3T3-L1 adipocytes cell model was induced by dexamethasone and the change of glucose concentration in cell culture was determined after ROS treatment.
RESULTIn the high glucose DMEM culture media, MTT method showed that the absorbance at 570nm of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was increased and that of 3T3-L1 adipocytes was decreased. ROS significantly increased glucose consumption in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes and adipocytes culture in a concentration-dependent manner. ROS improved the sensitivity of 3T3-L1 adipocytes to insulin.
CONCLUSIONROS can promote the proliferation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, inhibite the proliferation of 3T3-L1 adipocytes, and also, significantly improve insulin resistance induced by dexamethasone.

Objective:To explore therapeutic effects of rosuvastatin and atorvastatin on patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)angina pectoris and their influence on blood lipids. Methods:A total of 100 CHD inpatients with sta-ble angina pectoris(SAP)were selected.According to random control table, they were randomly and equally divid-ed into rosuvastatin group and atorvastatin group. Both groups received corresponding lipid-lowering medication based on routine treatment of CHD angina pectoris for four weeks.Clinical and ECG therapeutic effect were ob-served,blood lipid levels were measured before and after treatment, adverse drug reactions were observed and medi-ation cost was recorded in two groups. Results:Compared with atorvastatin group, there were significant rise in clinical and ECG total effective rate[(76% vs.92%),(60% vs.84%)],and significant reduction in mediation cost[(12369.94 ± 231.81)RMB vs.(11784.52 ± 206.97)RMB]in rosuvastatin group,P<0.05 or <0.01. There were no significant difference in blood lipid levels between two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05 all),and all of them were inside normal range. There was no significant difference in incidence rate of adverse drug reactions between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Compared with atorvastatin, rosuvastatin can more significantly prevent onset of CHD angina pectoris, and it's safe, effective, and hospitalization cost is significantly reduction.

Aim To observe the effect of epidurally application of osthole on the model of nucleus pulposusinduced inflammatory radicular pain and the expression of p38 MAPK signaling related pathway in the spinal dorsal horn of rats. Methods The model of radicular pain was generated by putting nucleus pulposus to the L5 dorsal root ganglion (DRG).50% MWT was measured using Von Frey filaments to calculate mechanical pain threshold before and after operation.50 μL of 20 g · L-1 osthole was administered epidurally in group Ost and 50 μL of 100 mL · L-1 DMSO in group DMSO at postoperative day (POD).The expression of phosphorylated p38 (p-p38),IL-18 and IL-18R in the lumbar spinal dorsal horn was detected by Western blot.IL-18 mRNA was assessed by real-time PCR.Results The mechanical pain threshold significantly decreased after operation (P < 0.05),while the expression of protein p-p38 MAPK,IL-18,IL-18R and IL-18 mRNA was significantly different.Compared with DMSO group,50% MWT was significantly increased and accompanied with the decrease of protein p-p38,IL-18,IL-lgR and IL-18 mRNA in Ost group after drug administration (P < 0.05).The correlation analysis between protein concentration of p38 MAPK and IL-18 mRNA showed that the Spearman correlation coefficient was 0.9 (P < 0.05).Conclusion p-p38 and IL-18 of spinal dorsal horn participate in the rat model with inflammatory radicular pain induced by nucleus pulposus, and IL-18R plays a role in maintenance of the pain.Osthole administered epidurally in the early stage of pain could alleviate the pain for a long time, which may be related with inhibiting p38 MAPK signaling related pathways.

OBJECTIVETo study the relationships among pathological and immunohistochemical changes in liver tissues, and the HBeAg, HBV DNA, ALT level in the patients with chronic hepatitis B.
METHODSPathological and immunohistochemical examinations of liver tissue liver function tests, serum HBV and HBV DNA detection were performed in 194 patients with chronic hepatitis B.
RESULTSThere was significant difference between the serum HBeAg positive group and the negative group in G2, G3-4 S2, S3-4 in liver tissues; The serum HBV DNA level of the groups S0 and S1-4, and the hepatic activity index between the groups G0-1 and G2-4 were significantly different. And the hepatic HBcAg positive group and HBcAg negative group were significantly different too. There was no significant difference between the HBsAg level in liver tissues as "+" group and the "++ - +++" group. The pathological diagnosis as S1 or (and) G2 is respectively 28.57%, 53.33%, 80.15%, 77.88% among the four groups with normal-mild-moderate-severe elevated serum ALT level.
CONCLUSIONSerum HBV DNA correlated with HBcAg expression in liver tissue; the HBsAg level in liver tissues have no relationship with the serum HBV DNA level. The patients with low serum HBV DNA level may have high index of hepatic activity and hepatic fibrosis. Asymptomatic carriers and patients with low serum ALT level should be encouraged to accept liver biopsy. It can determine the degree of liver inflammation and fibrosis and timing of treatment.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the levels of blood pressure and serum lipids, and examine the relationship between hypertension and hyperlipidemia in Hei Yi Zhuang Chinese living in Guangxi.
METHODSA total of 1056 people of Hei Yi Zhuang ethnicity were studied. Blood pressure, body height, body weight, and serum levels of lipids and apolipoprotein were measured. The data were compared with those in 925 people of Han ethnicity, who live in the same region.
RESULTSSystolic blood pressure and pulse pressure were significantly higher in Hei Yi Zhuang than Han Chinese (P < 0.001). The prevalence of isolated systolic hypertension and hypertension was also significantly higher in Hei Yi Zhuang than Han Chinese (P < 0.001). Serum concentrations of total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and apolipoprotein (Apo) B, and the prevalence of hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipidemia were significantly lower in Hei Yi Zhuang than Han Chinese (P < 0.05). Serum concentrations of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and the Apo A1 to Apo B ratio were significantly higher in Hei Yi Zhuang than Han Chinese (P < 0.001). The prevalence of hypertension in Hei Yi Zhuang Chinese was positively associated with triglycerides (r = 0.425, P < 0.05), whereas the prevalence of hypertension in Han Chinese was positively correlated with total cholesterol (r = 0.623, P < 0.001).
CONCLUSIONThe present study revealed a significant difference in blood pressure and serum lipids between Hei Yi Zhuang and Han ethnic groups, and an association between hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
