Objective To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of Xianyimucao capsule on hormone level and menstrual recovery in patients with vaginal bleeding after drug abortion.Methods 102 pregnant women with drug abortion admitted in our hospital from June 2015 to December 2016 were selected and divided into two groups by random number table, the control group was given conventional hemostasis and such symptomatic treatment as anti-infection, the observation group was given Xianyimucao capsule on the basis of control group.The clinical efficacy, the levels of serum hormones and menstrual recovery before and after the treatment of the two groups were compared.Then the safety of two groups were evaluated.Results After 14 days of the treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was 96.1%, which was significantly higher than 80.4% of the control group (P<0.05).And the serum HCG, P and E2 levels in the two groups after the treatment were significantly lower than those before the treatment (P<0.05);serum hormone levels of the observation group were significantly better than that the control group (P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the menstruation recovery of the observation group was significantly shortened (P<0.05);there was no significant difference of the first menstrual cycle and menstrual volume after the menstruation recovery between the two groups.There was no obvious adverse reaction in the two groups during meditation. Conclusion The application of fresh motherwort capsules in the treatment of vaginal bleeding after drug abortion can stop bleeding rapidly , regulate the body's hormone levels and recover normal menstruation with high safety .

BACKGROUND:Lumbar spinal stenosis is clinical repaired with decompression, bone fusion and internal fixation, and different internal fixation materials can be chosen during the surgery. OBJECTIVE:To explore the influence of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) pedicle screw fixation combined with interbody fusion on the bone fusion rate of patients with lumbar spinal stenosis. METHODS:A retrospective analysis was performed in 63 cases of lumbar spinal stenosis undergoing decompression and interbody fusion. These patients were divided into control group (titanium internal fixation system,n=31) and experimental group (PEEK pedicle internal fixation system,n=32) according the internal fixation materials folowed by posterior spinal decompression with interbody fusion. The Oswestry dysfunction index scores before and 4, 12, 24 weeks postoperatively and bone fusion rates at 4, 12, 24 weeks postoperatively were compared between the two groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Oswestry dysfunction index scores showed a gradual decline in both two groups before and 4, 12 and 24 weeks after treatment, but there was no difference at different time (P > 0.05). At 4 and 24 weeks after treatment, there was no difference in the bone fusion rates between the two groups (P > 0.05), but at 12 weeks after treatment, the bone fusion rate in the experimental group was better than that in the control group (P < 0.05). During the surgery, no infection and other adverse events occurred in the two groups. These results indicate that both PEEK and titanium internal fixation systems for lumbar tube stenosis have obtained good results, but PEEK material has a better role in the bone fusion at 4-12 weeks after internal fixation.

In order to improve the scientific research capability of medical graduates,help them cultivate scientific statistical mind and the ability to resolve actual medical scientific research issues,we made a teaching reform on the teaching objectives,curriculum system,teaching material and informational teaching of Medical Statistics teaching,established a diversified teaching pattern and improved the teaching quality.

In this study, modification technology by surface coating was used to improve the flowability of powder of Chinese herbs extracts. Seven kinds of powder of Chinese herbs extracts were coated with 1% silica nanoparticles using an under-driven Comil. The powder characteristics tester was used to evaluate the flowability of uncoated and coated powders. Surface morphology and particle size distribution of powders were compared by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and optical microscope. The powder hygroscopicity was also investigated. The results showed that, after modification, angle of repose, angle of spatula, compressibility and adhesiveness extremely decreased, and flowability index substantially increased, the powder flowability was significantly improved, especially Gegen and Dahuang extracts powders. Scanning electron microscopy images showed the distribution of silica nanoparticles on the host drug particle surfaces. There were no remarkable changes in the particle size distribution and hygroscopicity of all powders after coating. Therefore, Comilling for surface coating modification technology was an effective method to improve the flowability of Chinese herbs extracts and suggested a possible way forward to enhance the quality of Chinese drugs pharmaceutics in their study and manufacture.

Objective To explore the application value of real-time shear wave elastography (SWE) technique in diagnosing and staging of chronic viral hepatitis B and hepatic fibrosis and to establish Young's modulus reference range for diagnosing and staging of hepatic fibrosis.Methods Forty-eight patients with chronic hepatitis B and fifty-eight healthy adults were enrolled and their Young's modulus values of S5 and S6 segments of liver were measured.Histopathologic examination was performed on 48 patients with chronic hepatitis B.Comparative analysis was conducted between the pathological findings and Young's modulus values,by means of which Young's modulus reference range for diagnosis and staging of hepatic fibrosis was obtained.Results There was significant difference in Young's modulus values of S5 and S6 segments of liver between chronic hepatitis B group and the normal control group (P＜0.05).Young's modulus values of S5 and S6 segments of liver in chronic hepatitis B group were (11.7 ± 2.9) kPa and (12.1 ± 3.2) kPa respectively,which were significantly higher than those in the normal control group,(5.7 ± 1.1) kPa and (5.8 ± 1.3) kPa respectively.Significant differences of Young's modulus values were detected in every staging of hepatic fibrosis (P＜0.05).S5 segment of liver Young's modulus values in S0-S4 stages were (5.8 ± 2.2) kPa,(7.3 ± 1.9) kPa,(10.3 ± 2.8) kPa,(10.3 ± 2.8) kPa,and (25.3 ± 3.6) kPa,respectively.S6 segment of liver Young's modulus values in S0-S4 stages were (5.7 ± 2.3) kPa,(9.2±2.1) kPa,(10.5±2.1) kPa,(14.7±4.5) kPa,and (26.1 ±2.1) kPa,respectively.Young's modulus value of the liver rose with the increase of S stage.Conclusion SWE technique can establish the Young's modulus reference range for hepatic fibrosis stage.Besides,it features high sensitivity,specificity and accuracy.

Objective To investigate the influence of atorvastatin in methylation and expression level of Bcl-2 in human umbilical endothelial cells(HUVECs)treated with homocysteine(Hcy)and to expound potential mechanism of atorvastatin resisting arteriosclerosis.Methods After HUVECs were treated with 0, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 mmol·L-1 Hcy for 48 h,MTT was used to measure the inhibitory rates of HUVECs and the half inhibitory concentration (IC50 ). According to the experimental results, the HUVECs cultured in vitro were divided into control group (0.00 mmol · L-1 Hcy ), Hcy group (9.00 mmol·L-1 Hcy ), and atorvastatin group (9.00 mmol·L-1 Hcy+1×10-3 mmol·L-1 atorvastatin).After treated for 48 h,flow cytometry was used to detect the apoptotic rate of cells, the mRNA expression of Bcl-2 was analyzed by fluorescence quantitative PCR,the protein expression of Bcl-2 was detected by Western blotting method, and the methylation level of Bcl-2 promoter region was determined by nest touch-down PCR combined with methylation specific PCR (MSP ). Results Compared with control group,the apoptotic rate of HUVECs in Hcy group was increased(P<0.01),the mRNA and protein expression levels of Bcl-2 were significantly decreased(P<0.01),and the Bcl-2 promoter region methylation level was also decreased(P<0.01).Compared with Hcy group,the apoptotic rate of HUVECs in atorvastatin group was decreased(P<0.01),the mRNA and protein expression levels of Bcl-2 gene were increased (P<0.05), and the Bcl-2 promoter region methylation level was also increased (P<0.05). Conclusion Atorvastatin can prevent the apoptosis of HUVECs induced by Hcy through regulating Bcl-2 methylation.

Objective To investigate the effect of gender differences in distal femoral geometry on the clinical outcomes of total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Methods From March 2003 to October 2006, 213 cases with 294 osteoarthritic knees who had underwent primary TKA were involved in the study. The study included 87 men (118 knees) and 126 women (176 knees) who had a mean age of 64.4 years. All the cases were assessed with the knee-rating system of Knee Society, the knee range of flexion (ROF), corrected posterior offset (PCO) and anterior condylar offset (ACO) based on sex. Results Each patient had a Minimum of 2 years follow-up. The preoperative Knee Society scores and ROF, the two-year postoperative changes of stability scores and walking ability had no differences between the two groups. While greater improvements of postoperative pain scores and stair-climbing ability were seen in male. Men had better intraoperative ROF than women had ones, but there were no gender differences with regard to the two-year postoperative improvement of ROF. Corrected PCO decreased more markedly in female than in male. Corrected ACO decreased equally in female and male. The difference in the posterior condylar offset after TKA was statistically correlated with the change in pain scores, stair climbing ability and intraoperative ROF, respectively. Conclusion Male had a better outcome than female did after TKA. Femoral components which designed in the light of Caucasian anatomic characteristics couldn't match the native anatomy of distal femurs of Chinese female. Sexual dimorphism in humans and anatomic variations in various ethnic groups should be seriously considered in total knee prosthesis design.

AIM: To investigate the effects of auricularia auricular polysaccharide (AAP) on chronic cerebral ischemia injury in rats. METHODS: The chronic cerebral ischemia mode1 was made by permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) on the right side. AAP at different doses (50 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg) was intragastrically administered at the onset of ischemia and in the following days after operation, once a day for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks of MCAO, Morris water maze test was introduced to examine the learning and memory functions. Nissl staining was performed to detect the survival neurons in hippocampal slices. Level of malondialdehyde (MDA) and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in brain tissue were measured. RESULTS: Rats treated with AAP showed a shorter escaping latency in spacial navigation test because the AAP treated rats spent less time to find the platform in spatial probe test. More survival neurons in hippocampal slices were observed from AAP treated rats. Also, the MDA level in brain tissue was reduced and SOD activity in brain tissue was increased in the AAP treated rats with MCAO. CONCLUSION: AAP protects rats from chronic brain ischemic injury, in which its anti-oxidative effect might be involved.

Objectives To investigate the rational treatment strategy of hepatoblastoma (HB) in children. Methods Clinical data and follow-up of 25 children with HB admitted from February 2009 to March 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Twenty-five children with newly diagnosed HB (14 males and 11 females) were enrolled. The median age on diagnosis was 25 months (3-92 months);In 18 of 25 cases with complete resection of the primary tumor, 17 cases survived. Only 1 of 7 cases with incomplete resection survived. The survival rate in children with complete resection of primary tumor is significantly higher than those without complete resection (P<0.05). The survival rate in children of stage I or II is significantly higher than the children of stage III or IV (P<0.05). Conclusions Complete tumor resection is the cornerstone of therapy for long-term disease-free survival in HB patients. Treatment strategy remains to be further improved for children with recurrent and metastatic HB.
