Background Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT) is a gold standard of intraocular pressure measurement. But its utilization iS limited because of its complexity and high requirement of cooperation.iCare rebound tonometer (iCare RBT) is a new type of applanation tonometry, and its accuracy and safety in clinical application need to be evaluated. Objective Present study was to investigate the reproducibility and tolerability of iCare RBT and its measurement agreement with GAT over a wide intraocular pressure (IOP) range. Methods The IOP were measured in bilateral eyes of 36 glaucoma and glaucoma suspect patients by 2 examinees with iCare RBT at the 1-minute interval to assess the interobserver reproducibility. Then the IOP of both eyes from 56 Subjeets and other 52 subjects were separately measured twice for each by two operators with iCare RBT for the evaluation of intraobserver reproducibility.Finally.IOP of 182 eyes of 92 glaucoma and glaucoma suspect patients was obtained by examiner 2 with RBT first and examiner 1 with GAT subsequently at a 2.minute interval in a masked fashion to perform an agreement evaluation of two readings by using Bland-Ahman method. The tolerance of subjects to iCare RBT measurement were surveyed.Oral informed consent was obtained prior to the IOP measurement. Results Concerning the iCare RBT readings.interobserver correlation coefficients were 0.937 in the right eye and 0.887 in the left eye.Intraobserver correlation coefficients of examiner 1 were 0.986 in the left eyes and 0.969 in the fight eyes. And those of examiner 2 were 0.990 and 0.979.Mcan values of iCare RBT readings and GAT were(18.74±8.36)mmHg and(19.33±8.20)mmHg and the mean difference values(iCare-GAT)was(-0.59 4±2.60)mmHg with the 95%confidence interval of -5.80-4.60 mmHg.The correlation coefficient between two modalities of IOP measurement WaS 0.95 1.No severe pain and discomfort were complained in all the subjects during or after measurement of iCare RBT. Conclusion iCare RBT has good interobserver and intraobserver reproducibility and good tolerance. It was proved that this is a good correlation between iCare RBT readings and GAT readings.

Chinese Archives of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery 2006;0(02):-
OBJECTIVE To investigate the induc-ing factors of Bell’s palsy. METHODS From Febru-ary to May 2005, 262 outpatients of Bell’s palsy were surveyed for 9 inducing factors. RESULTS The mean age of onset was 39?17 years old. The ratio of male to female and of left to right were 48:52. Forty-eight patients denied all inducing factors, while 214 pa-tients (81.7 %) had at least one factor. Cold was found in 53.5 % of the patients, fatigue in 22.5 %, viral infec-tion in 18.7 %, recurrence in 11.8 %, psychological stress in 11.5 %, family history in 7.6 %, puerperal period in 1.5 %, and molar infection of the affected side in 1.5 %. CONCLUSION Bell’s palsy is likely to be a set of disease. Most of patients with Bell’s palsy had inducing factors. Avoid these factors may reduce the incidence of Bell’s palsy. Further investigate will fractionize Bell’s palsy to several diseases includ-ing true idiopathic peripheral facial paralysis and some definite diseases.

Objective To investigate the changes of phenotypes and function of CD56+T cells during primary HIV-1 infection and their relationship with disease progression. Methods Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were collected from 53 subjects with primary HIV-1 infection and 31 HIV-1-negative healthy subjects. The percentages of CD56+T cells and the expression of several phenotypic markers on CD56+T cells including CD16, CD161, NKB1, NKG2A, NKp46, NKG2D, NKG2C and CD158a were analyzed by flow cytometry.IFN-γand TNF-αreleased by CD56+T cells with and without K562 stimulation and the levels of cytotoxic molecular CD107a were measured. Results The percentages of CD56+T cells in patients with primary HIV-1 infection were significantly lower than those of healthy subjects (P=0.025). The levels of CD56+T cells were negatively related to the viral loads in plasma samples ( P=0.021, r=-0.316).Compared with healthy subjects, the expression of CD16 (P=0.003), CD161 (P=0.023), NKB1 (P=0.023) and NKp46 (P=0.021) on CD56+T cells were decreased in patients with primary HIV-1 infection. The levels of NKB1 were positively related to the CD4+T cell counts ( P=0.007, r=0.364), but were negatively related to the viral loads in plasma samples (P=0.030, r=-0.299).Sponta-neous secretion of IFN-γand TNF-αby CD56+T cells and the expression of CD107a were dramatically in-hibited in patients with primary HIV-1 infection as compared with healthy subjects ( all P<0.001 ) . Moreover, the killing ability of CD56+T cells against K562 target cells was weakened in patients with prima-ry HIV-1 infection as the levels of IFN-γ-, TNF-α-and CD107a-producting CD56+T cells were significantly decreased (P<0.001 for IFN-γand TNF-α, P=0.016 for CD107a).Conclusion Inhibited expression and altered phenotypes of CD56+T cells were identified during primary HIV-1 infection.Lower levels of cy-tokines and cytotoxic molecular were also detected, indicating the dysfunction of CD56+T cells appeared dur-ing early stage of HIV-1 infection and was associated with disease progression.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(5):465-468
The amount of acupuncture treatment refers to the sum of acupuncture effects during the treatment. From the factors that constitutes the amount of acupuncture treatment, including the numbers of needling, the size of acupuncture instruments, the depth of acupuncture, the manipulation, the retained time of needle, etc., and combined with teaching and clinical experience, it is believed that the amount of acupuncture treatment is closely related with clinical efficacy, besides, moderate amount of acupuncture treatment is a key factor to improve acupuncture efficacy and guarantee the safety of acupuncture. The basic principles of regular treatment amount are arrival of qi and being moderate, indicating the retained time of needle, treatment frequency and course should be based on individual condition, time, location and disease.
