Objective To investigate the effects of arsenic on liver Fas/FasL expression in mice and to observe the antagonize effect of zinc. Methods Sixty health Kunming mice were divided into five groups according to their body mass: negative control group(no arsenic and no zinc), arsenic group(55 mg/L NaAsO2 solution), low dose zinc intervention group(55 mg/L NaAsO2 solution and 20 mg/L ZnSO4 solution), middle dose zinc intervention group (55 mg/L NaAsO2 solution and 40 mg/L ZnSO4 solution), and high dose zinc intervention group (55 mg/LNaAsO2 solution and 80 mg/L ZnSO4 solution). Everyday the solution was given by oral gavage at a dose of 0.02 ml/g body weight for six weeks. The expression of Fas/FasL in mice liver was examined by immunohistochemistry. Results With the amount of zinc increasing, the expression of both Fas and FasL in mice liver decreased gradually. The expression rates of Fas[83.33%(10/12), 50%(6/12)] and FasL[66.67%(8/12), 41.67%(5/12)]in low dose zinc intervention group and middle dose zinc intervention group, respectively, were different from the expression rate of Fas[8.33%(1/12)] and FasL[0.00%(0/12)] in the negative control group(all P < 0.05). The Fas expression rate of middle dose zinc intervention group[50%(6/12)] and the high dose zinc intervention group [25%(3/12)] was compared with the arsenic group[8.33%(1/12)], and the difference was statistically significant (all P < 0.01 ). The FasL expression rate of the middle dose zinc intervention group [41.67% (5/12 )] and the high dose zinc intervention group[16.67%(2/12)] was compared with positive control group[91.67%(11/12)], and the difference was statistically significant (all P < 0.05). Conclusions Arsenic can increase the expression of Fas and FasL in mice liver, and promote apoptosis in liver, zinc may antagonize the effect of arsenic.

OBJECTIVE:To establish the quality standard for Cangbai qutong capsule. METHODS:TLC was conducted to iden-tify the Rhizoma atractylodis,Asarum sieboldii,Paeoniae Radix Rubra and Cortex phellodendri;RP-HPLC was conducted to deter-mine the content of berberine hydrochloride. The column was Waters Symmetry-C18 with mobile phase of acetonitrile-0.1% phos-phoric acid (gradient elution) at flow rate of 1.0 ml/min,the detection wavelength was 265 nm,column temperature was 30 ℃, and the injection volume was 10 μl. RESULTS:TLC showed R. atractylodis,A. sieboldii,Paeoniae Radix Rubra and C. phelloden-dri had clear spots and good separation. The linear range of berberine hydrochloride was 21.12-84.48 μg/ml(r=0.999 6);RSDs of pre-cision,stability and reproducibility tests were lower than 3%;recovery was 96.439%-100.950%(RSD=1.34%,n=9). CONCLU-SIONS:The method is simple and reproducible, and can be used for the quality standards of Cangbai qutong capsule.

Objective To establish a method for limit test of camphor in Shujin Huoxue pills. Methods A DB-WAX (30 m×0. 32 mm,0. 25 μm) capillary column was used with a programmed temperature. Results The linear range of camphor was 1. 05-210. 00 μg·mL-1(r=1. 0). The average recovery was 101. 7%(n=9, RSD=1. 2%). Conclusion The proposed method is simple, sensitive, accurate and reproducible, which is suitable for quality control of Shujin Huoxue Pills.

Objective To establish the extraction process of Zhechong Chuangyu Capsule. Methods The difference of analgesic effect of water extraction and alcohol extraction in mice was observed by body-torsion test to determine the extract solvent. With the rate of aqueous extraction, n-butyl alcohol extraction and asperosaponin Ⅵ as evaluating indicator, the influencing factors including solvent volume, time and times of extraction were investegated to evaluate extracting procedure by orthogonal experiment. Results There was no obvious difference in analgesic effect between water extraction and alcohol extraction. Given the requirement of produce, aqueous extraction was a better choice. The optimum extracting condition was extracted 3 times with 20 folds volume of solvent, and extraction time was 150 minutes. Conclusion The extraction process is feasible to be applied into production.

To study the cost-effectiveness of temozolomide combined with radiotherapy in the treatment of glioblasto-ma. Methods:According to the clinical trial data, cost-effectiveness and sensitivity of the results was analyzed based on the domestic cost and consumption level. Results:Temozolomide combined with radiotherapy could prolong one month of overall survival with the additional cost of RMB 58 959. 7 yuan in each case when compared with radiotherapy alone. Conclusion:Temozolomide combined with radiotherapy has no advantage on cost-effectiveness when compared with radiotherapy alone.

Objective To study CT features of thymoma,so that to improve the accuracy of CT diagnosis and differential diagnosis. Methods 31 cases of thymomas proved by surgery and pathology were examined with conventional CT scans.CT findings of thymoma were analyzed. Results The lesions in 27 cases(87.1%)were located in the anterior upper and middle mediastinum. There were benign lesion in 11,including mass-cardiovascular interface(MCI) with convex type(8 cases),flatness type(1 cases) and concave type(2 cases).20 cases were malignant lesion, including MCI with cast type(18 cases) and concave type(2 cases).Irregular invasion to adjacent organs was found in 11 cases, others included pericardiac effusion(n=6),pericardial and mediastinal invasion(n=2),pleural effusion(n=4),pneumonia(n=2),lung,bone,mediastinal lymphadens metastasis(n=2) and liver, pancreas metastasis(n=1).Conclusion CT scans is of significant value in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of thymoma.
