2.CHANGES OF PLASMA IMMUNOREACTIVE ?-ENDORPHIN LEVEL IN NIDDM AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRONIC COMPLICATIONS
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1986;0(04):-
Plasma concentrations of immunoreactivc beta-endorphin in patients with NIDDM were measured by radioimmuno-assay. It was found that the plasma beta-endorphin levels decreased in 68 cases of NIDDM especially in those with long duration of illness and chronic complication. These results suggested that beta-endorphin may be related to diabetes and its chronic complication.

Immunoreactive beta-endorphin was measured by radioimmunoassay (RIA) in the pituitary, hypothalamus, pancreas and plasma of female diabetic rats induced by streptozotocin. In addition, pain threshold was determined. The results showed that the concentrations of beta-endorphin in pituitary, hypothalamus, pancreas and plasma began to decrease on the first month after being made diabetic. Then, the levels of beta-endorphin continued to decrease significantly as the course progressed, especially in pancreas and plasma. Diabetic rats consistently showed a decreased pain threshold after 4 weeks. These results suggested that the decrease of beta-endorphin may be related to the course of diabetes and pain threshold.

Journal of Environment and Health 1989;0(06):-
Objective To study the characteristics of the variations of formaldehyde concentration in indoor air of newly decorated living rooms. Methods The formaldehyde concentrations in indoor air of newly decorated rooms were determined with model 4160_2 formaldehyde analyzer during the different periods after decoration. Results At the 10th minute after closing all the windows and doors in the newly decorated rooms, the formaldehyde concentrations of indoor air exceeded the standard nearly as high as 2 times, reached 51% of the peak concentration at the 30th minute, and reached the peak concentration (0.652 mg/m 3) at the 420th minute, then decreased gradually with the prolongation of periods after decoration and accorded with the sanitary standard in the 4th month after decoration. The whole study was carried out at the indoor air temperature of 27.8~29.9 ℃. Conclusion The indoor air pollution by formaldehyde was serious in newly decorated living rooms. The ventilation should be enhanced during the first 4_month period after decoration, so that the formaldehyde concentration could be decreased gradually.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(21):3293-3298
BACKGROUND:Angelica polysaccharide has the function of enriching blood and promoting blood circulation, but how to improve the hematopoietic microenvironment and promote hematopoiesis has become one of the hot topics. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of angelica polysaccharide on Sca-1+, CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells and intercellular adhesion molecule 1 level in bone marrow stromal cells in mice. METHODS:Mouse models of hemorrhagic anemia were made and then randomly divided them into control group, low-concentration angelica polysaccharide group and high-concentration angelica polysaccharide group. Angelica polysaccharide groups were intraperitoneally injected with the corresponding concentration of angelica polysaccharide (4, 6 mg/kg) for continuous 6 days, while the control group was injected with equal amount of normal saline. General conditions of the model mice were observed. Peripheral blood red cells were counted by automatic blood cell analyzer. Bone marrow hematopoietic stem cels were counted by magnetic bead sorting technique and flow cytometry. Proliferation of bone marrow stromal cells was detected by MTT method. Expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 in bone marrow stromal cells was detected by flow cytometry. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Angelica polysaccharide had no obvious effect on the body mass of hemorrhagic anemia mice (P > 0.05). The number of peripheral blood cells, the percentage of bone marrow CD34+ and Sca-1+ cells, the number of bone marrow stromal cells and the level of intercellular adhesion molecule 1 were ranked as follows: high-concentration group > low-concentration group > control group (P < 0.05). To conclude, angelica polysaccharide could promote the proliferation of bone marrow stromal cells and increase the expression of intercellular adhesion molecule 1, thereby promoting the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and regulating their functional activities.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the efficacy and safety of eprosartan in the treatment of hypertensive patients with coro-nary heart disease. METHODS:160 hypertensive patients with coronary heart disease randomly divided into observation group and control group. All patients were given aspirin, nitroglycerin, low molecular weight heparin, statins and other conventional treat-ment;control group was additioanlly given 50 mg Losartan potassium tablet, orally, once a day. Observation group was additional-ly given 600 mg Eprosartan tablet, orally, once a day. The treatment course for both groups was 6 months. Clinical efficacy,sit-ting systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure, alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),urea (UREA),creatinine(Cr),uric acid(UA),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),the Mini-Mental status (MMSE) scale and activities of daily living (ADL) scale scores before and after treatment and incidence of adverse reactions in 2 groups were observed. RESULTS:There was no signifi-cant difference in the total effective rate between 2 groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the sitting systolic blood pressure and diastol-ic blood pressure,MMSE and ADL scale scores in 2 groups were significantly lower than before, and sitting systolic blood pres-sure in observation group was lower than control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there were no significant differences in sitting diastolic blood pressure,MMSE and ADL scale scores between 2 groups(P>0.05),and no signifi-cant differences in ALT,AST,UREA,Cr,UA,TC,TG,HDL-C and LDL-C between 2 groups before and after treatment(P>0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions during treatment. CONCLUSIONS:Eprosartan can effectively reduce sitting systol-ic blood pressure in hypertensive patients with coronary heart disease, and improve cognitive function, with good safety.
