1.Association analysis between Alzheimer's disease and the promoter polymorphism of PSEN2 gene
Chinese Journal of Neurology 2001;0(01):-
Objective Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disorder of aging.Identifying novel AD genetic risk factors is important for understanding its pathogenesis.Presenilin- 2 (PSEN2) is one of the causative genes for familial AD.Polymorphism of the promoter region of PSEN2 has recently been reported to be associated with sporadic AD in a Russian population. The purpose of this study was to determine whether AD is associated with the PSEN2 gene polymorphism in a case-control study. Methods We examined PSEN2 and ApoE genotypes of 160 patients with AD and an equal number of age- and sex-matched controls from the same community by using PCR-RFLP method.Statistical analyses included a Chi-square test for homogeneity and a Logistic regression analysis. Results Examination of PSEN2 genotypes revealed no statistically significant differences in the frequency of the+A/-A polymorphism when compared with the total sample of AD patients and control individuals (P=0.11). However, subgroup of ApoE 84 non-carriers suggested significant differences of the three genotypes of PSEN2 promoter between AD and controls (P=0.038).Logistic analyses indicated ApoE genotypes were related with AD,and after stratification by e4 allele,PSEN2 genotypes were related with AD of e4 non-carriers.In addition, there was no interaction between ApoE and PSEN2 gene. Conclusion The+A/-A polymorphism of PSEN2 promoter may be a minor genetic risk factor for sporadic AD,especially in the group of AD without ApoE ?4 allele.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2016;32(2):119-122
OBJECTIVE:
To summarize the key points, difficulties and relevant practical experiences for analyzing the scene of solved intentional homicide cases.
METHODS:
The data of 88 solved intentional homicide cases in a county from 2004 to 2013 were collected and the retrospective analysis was performed.
RESULTS:
The number of local female victims obviously higher than non-local female victims and the number of non-local suspects is obviously higher than local suspects. The number of Male suspects showed higher compared with the female. Most of them were temporary workers, unemployment or farmers with less education backgrounds. The main causes of victims' death were mechanical injury or asphyxia. The murders were acquaintances in most intentional homicide cases. The motive of the stranger murders was commonly money. The murder behavior types of homicide cases were related with people, money and sexual assault. Camouflage and guilty behavior showed the most significance.
CONCLUSION
The accurate identification of suspects is one of the most important task in forensic investigation and reflects the importance of the criminal scene analysis for intentional homicide cases. It also provides the direction of future research.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(19):-
Objective To investigate the effects of spindle poisons (Vincristine, VCR and Colchicine, COL) on the tk gene of mouse lymphoma cells. Methods L5178Y cells were treated with VCR and COL at different concentrations. Determination of cytotoxicity, cell inoculation efficiency, relative survival rate, relative suspension growth rate and mutation frequency was performed. Results The relative survival rate and suspension growth rate of L5178Y cells decreased significantly with the increasing doses of VCR and COL. The mutation frequency of tk gene induced by VCR (0.5~2.5 ng/ml) and COL(10~50 ng/ml) was 1~3 times higher than that of spontaneous mutation frequency of L5178Y cells. Conclusion VCR and COL have obvious cytotoxic and mutagenic effects on tk gene in L5178Y cells.

Objective:To understand the recognition status of cancer pain in basic medical staff from small towns to provide the basis for the improvement of cancer pain management in these areas. Methods:The medical staff of Hengjiang Town and subordinate villages was selected. The study area is situated in southwest China. Centralized questionnaires regarding cancer pain were collected and analyzed. A program and education of cancer pain were provided for these medical workers. Results: The medical staff from Hengjiang asserted that only 17%of cancer pain patients receive treatments. Approximately 70%of the medical staff did not consider the popularization and explanation of cancer pain treatment in their patients. Approximately 64%of the medical staff was not familiar with standardized cancer pain control, 87%did not believe that narcotics could suffice the need of patients, and 44%did not participate in the training for cancer pain control. Conclusion: The medical staff in Hengjiang possesses less knowledge on the importance of cancer pain. Hence, further training is necessary. The specific management of cancer pain as a part of community chronic diseases is mandatory.
