Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(09):-
Objective To determine the mechanism of nitric oxide synthase(NOS) and prostacyclin(PGI2) acting on splanchnic hyperdynamic circulation of portal hypertention(PHT). Methods Ninety-six Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three groups, namely, intrahepatic portal hypertension(IHPH, n=31), prehepatic portal hypertension(PHPH, n=33) and sham-operated controls(SO, n=32). Animals of each group were received indomethacin(INDO) either on a short term or long term with saline as control. Portal venous pressure, together with the concentration of nitric oxide (NO) and PGI2 in serum was measured. The constitutive nitric oxide synthase(cNOS)and inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)activity in the abdominal aorta and small intestine of these rats were detrmined by spectrophotometry method. RT-PCR was performed to measure the levels of iNOS and cNOS mRNA in the arteries and guts mentioned above. Results Although INDO decreased the concentration of PGI2 in serum, the long-term INDO-treated group restored splanchnic hyperdynamic circulation in both IHPH and PHPH rats, concomitant with enhanced expression of iNOS and concentration of NO(P0.05). Conclusion Overproduction of NO inducing hemodynamic abnormalities of PHT is synthesized principally by increase of iNOS. There may be a possible interaction between PGI2 and NO in hyperhemodynamics of PHT, while PGI2 may not be a mediator in the formation and development of hyperdynamic circulatory state.

OBJECTIVETo observe the differences in timely effectiveness of immediate analgesia on acute migraine between electroacupuncture (EA) at shaoyang meridian points and non-meridian points.
METHODSThe randomized controlled trial method was adopted. One hundred and ten cases of acute migraine were randomized into two groups. 55 cases in each one. In the observation group, EA was applied to Fengchi (GB 20), Waiguan (TE 5), etc. In the control group. EA was applied to non-meridian points. Only one treatment was given, and the nee dies were retained for 30 min in the two groups. Separately. at 10 time points, named before acupuncture, in 5 min, 10 min. 20 min and 30 min (at the moment of needle removal), 1 h, 2 h, 4 h, 6 h and 8 h after acupuncture, the pain intensity numerical rating scale (PI-NRS) was adopted to evaluate the pain severity and the adverse reac tion was recorded.
RESULTS(1) The effective rate of imnmediate analgesia was 87. 3% (48/55) in the observation group. significantly higher than 52.7% (29/55) in the control group (P<0.01). (2) NRS of each group was re duced at each time point, from 5 min to 8 h after acupuncture (all P<0.01). (3) NRS score at 30 min after acu puncture in the control group was obviously lower than that in the observation group (P<0.05), but the scores in 2 h, 4 h, 6 h and 8 h after acupuncture in the observation group were lower apparently than those in the control group (all P<0. 01). The differences in the scores in 5 min, 10 min, 20 min and 1 h after acupuncture were not significant (all P>0. 05). (4) For the reducing amplitude of NRS score at the same time point after acupuncture, the results in 20 min, 30 min and 1 h in the control group were higher apparently than those in the observation group (all P<0. 05). But, in 2 h, 4 h, 6 h and 8 h, the results in the observation group were higher apparently than those in the control group (all F<0.05). The differences in 5 min and 10 min after acupuncture were not significant (both P>0. 05). (5) In 24 h after acupuncture, the recurrence rate of migraine was 12. 7% (7/55) in the observation group, which was lower obviously than 34. 5% (19/55) in the control group (P<0. 05). The adverse reaction was not found in the two groups.
CONCLUSIONEA at the shaoyang meridian points achieves the definite immediate analgesia effect on acute migraine and presents the time effectiveness of analgesia.

Cancer Research and Clinic 2010;22(5):300-302
Objective To investigate the galectin-3 (Gal-3) and osteopontin (OPN) expression in esophageal carcinoma and analyze its clinical significance. Methods Thirty-seven patients who suffered from esophageal carcinoma were selected from 2006 to 2008.There were 28 males and 9 females, aged from 41 to 82 vears old.The levels of Gal-3 mRNA and OPN mRNA in tissues were detected by Fluorescent PCR,and the levels of Gal-3 and OPN in blood plasma were measured by ELISA.Result The expression of Gal-3 mRNA and OPN mRNA were significantly different between the esophageal carcinoma, side of carcinoma and normal esophagus tissues (F=11.934,F=4.269,P<0.05);The expression of galectin-3 and osteopontin were correlated with pathological grading (F=3.216,P

Objective: To investigate the pharmacokinetics of honokiol in rats. Methods: Honokiol injection was delivered by vein injection to SD rats. The blood samples were gathered at a series of time lags. Honokiol in rat plasma was determined with an RP HPLC method and the data were analyzed with program 3P87. Results: After i v injection of honokiol, concentration time curves were fitted to a 3 compartment model: with halftime of 2.8 min, 11.9 min, and 56.8 min. Conclusion: Honokiol was quickly distributed in rats after i.v. and the concentration decreased rapidly. Our studies provided important referrence to the research on the pharmacodynamics and the pharmaceutics of Honokiol.

China Pharmacist 2017;20(9):1651-1653
Objective:To establish the quality standard for two effective components in extractum glycyrrhizae capsules. Methods:Radix glycyrrhizae was identified by a TLC method. The contents of liquiritin and ammonium glycyrrhizinate in extractum glycyrrhizae capsules were determined by HPLC. An Inertsil C18 (150 mm × 4. 6 mm, 5μm) column was used. The mobile phase consisted of ace-tonitrile (A)-0. 2% phosphoric acid (B) (0-8 min: 20%A-20%A;8-34 min: 20%A-50%A;34-35 min: 50%A-100%A;35-40 min:100%A-20%A) at a flow rate of 1. 0 ml·min-1 . The detection wavelength was at 237 nm under 25℃. Results: The spots in TLC were clear. Liquiritin showed a good linear relationship within the range of 0. 0020-0. 1000 mg·ml-1(r=0. 9995). The aver-age recovery was 100. 29%, and the RSD was 2. 94%(n=6). Ammonium glycyrrhizinate showed a good linear relationship within the range of 0. 0020-0. 1000 mg·ml-1(r=0. 9998). The average recovery was 101. 46%, and the RSD was 2. 33%(n=6). Conclu-sion:The method is simple, reliable and reproducible, which can be used for the quality control of the preparation.
