Objective To study the chemical composition from the seeds of Annona squamosa. Methods The components of annonaceous acetogenins from the seeds of A. squamosa were isolated and purified by extracting and chromatography separation. The structures of the compounds were identified by their physicochemical properties, UV, NMR, and mass spectrometry data. Results Seven annonaceous acetogenins were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of the seeds from A.squamosa. They are 3-[7-[5- [1,4-dihydroxy-4-[5-(1-hydroxytridecyl)-2-furanyl] butyl] tetrahydro-2-furanyl]-2-hydroxyheptyl]-5-methyl-2(5H)-furanone (1), 3-[9-[5-(1-hydroxy-4-heptadeceneyl) tetrahydro-2-furanyl] hydroxynonyl]-5-methyl-2 (5H)-furanone (2), bullatalicin (3), squamostatin A (4), squamostatin D (5), bullatacin (6), and 10-hydroxyasimicin (7). Conclusion Compounds 1 and 2 are two new compounds, named as trilobalicin I (1) and D20-solamin B (2), respectively.

AlM: To explore the clinical significances and changes of related parameters of corneal endothelial cell in keratouveitis patients before and after treatment.
METHODS:Fifty-two keratouveitis patients ( 52 eyes ) diagnosed and treated in our hospital from October 2012 to December 2013 were collected. Before and after treatment, the related parameters of corneal endothelial cell in all patients were measured with non - contact corneal specular microscope and these parameters were statistically analyzed.
RESULTS: Compared with the normal group, obvious endothelial cell edema and great variation was observed in diseased group. The shorter duration of treatment, the better the recovery of endothelial cells and the fewer cells lose. Conversely, the longer the healing of normal hexagonal cell ratio was smaller, the larger the coefficient of variation. Before and after treatment, the differences of each parameter were statistical significance (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSlON: The functional recovery of corneal endothelial cell has directly relation with disease times.

italic>γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a crucial inhibitory neurotransmitter found in various cells in the human body. While the GABAergic system is typically associated with the nervous system, recent research has revealed that immune cells and tumor cells also express components of this system. In the tumor microenvironment (TME), GABA is secreted to act extracellularly on other cells. GABA is metabolized via the GABA shunt and is involved in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle by generating succinate, which can provide energy for tumor cells. Activation of GABA receptors (GABARs) is a major pathway through which GABA participates in the regulation of antitumor immune responses. The activation of GABA type A receptors (GABA_ARs) can inhibit the activation and proliferation of T cells, elicit anti-inflammatory macrophages, and promote tumor cell growth and migration, while activation of GABA type B receptors (GABA_BRs) is generally considered to inhibit cancer cell migration and induce cancer cell apoptosis. In general, receptor activation inhibits immune cells, but the effect on tumor cells varies. Additionally, the downregulation of the expression levels of GABA transporters (GATs) is involved in tumor progression. Although antagonists of GABA metabolism and drugs that act on GABA receptors are considered therapeutic drugs for tumors, there have been few clinical studies conducted on them.

Objective To explore the function of fluorescent probe JC-1 in detecting the changes of mitochondrial membrane potential(△?m)in early apoptotic cells.Methods After 2-ME was used to induce MUTZ-1 cell apoptosis,cells were dyed with fluorescent probe JC-1,and then the changes of △?m in the early stage of apoptotic cells were analyzed by flow cytometry or detected under fluorescent microscope. Results The control cells with high △?m are those forming JC-1 aggregates in the inner membrane of mitochondria,thus showing orange-red fluorescence.2-ME caused decrease of △?m in MUTZ-1 cells,in which JC-1 maintains monomeric form,thus showing only green fluorescence.The decreases of △?m were in a time-dependent manner,which were significantly higher than those in control group(P

Objective To study the impact of implanted thermoseeds of magnetic induction hyperthermia on radiation dose distribution. Methods To simulate irradiation, an anthropomorphic phantom and three-dimensional treatment planning system were used. The impact of thermoseeds on radiation dose distribution was evaluated. Results The change of absorbed dose caused by the implantated thermoseeds was less than 1.5%. Conclusions The impact of implanted thermoseeds on radiation dose distribution is small and comes up to the requirements that the total target dose uncertainty must be less than 5%. Therefore, the impact of thermoseeds on the absorbed dose in tissue can be ignored in clinical practice.

AIM:To investigate the safety and effect of femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery with Cionni modified capsular tension ring (MCTR) implantation in the management of traumatic lens subluxation.METHODS: Totally 11 patients (11 eyes) with traumatic lens subluxation were divided into three groups according to the severity of lens dislocation, ranging from 90° to 120° (4 eyes), 120° to 180° (5 eyes) and 180° to 270° (2 eyes).The contact LenSx femtosecond laser cataract surgery platform was applied to create the capsulotomy, prepare nuclear fragmentation and make corneal wound creation.Anterior vitrectomy was performed in some patients during the surgery.After capsular retractors insertion and phacoemulsification, the MCTR was inserted to the capsular bag and fixed to the sclera.Finally, the IOL was implanted into the capsular bag.Postoperative visual acuity, intra-and post-operative complications, anterior capsular opening, IOL and MCTR position and intraocular pressure (IOP) were assessed.RESULTS:The duration of follow-up was 2mo.All the operations were completed successfully.Five eyes underwent cataract surgery combined with anterior vitrectomy.Four eyes had been inserted with 2-eyelet MCTR and seven eyes with 1-eyelet MCTR.The best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) after operation was better than 0.5 in 4 eyes, between 0.3 and 0.5 in 3 eyes, between 0.1 and 0.3 in 3 eyes, and less than 0.1 in 1 eye.Compared with preoperative BCVA, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).All the IOLs were stably centered and the eyelet of MCTR was fixated steadily between the iris and the anterior capsule.The common intra-and post-operative complications were subconjunctival hemorrhage, incomplete capsulotomy, residual cortex, secondary glaucoma and posterior capsular opacification.CONCLUSION:Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery can improve the success rate of capsulorhexis, and reduce the difficulty of nuclear fragmentation.Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery combined with MCTR implantation is an ideal surgical method for traumatic lens subluxation.
