Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics of pontine infarction and the value of MRI in diagnosis of pontine infarction. Methods The cilinical feature and image manifestation of 65 cases with pontine infarction were analyzed retrospectively. Results Pontine infarction had complicated clinical presentation, classical syndrome was less, most presentation was similar to anterior circulation infarction. MRI especially DWI could found the infarction lesions earlier. Conclusion Pontine infarction and anterior circulation infarction have simlar presentations.MRI especially DWI could show the infarction lesions in supper-acute stage, could be helpful to diagnose.

Aim To compare cardioprotection effects between carvedilol and metoprolol in canine late reperfusion of acute myocardial infarction. Methods Eighteen anesthetized dogs were randomly divided into three groups: late reperfusion group(LR,n=6),late reperfusion after metoprolol treatment group(LR+M,n=6),and late reperfusion after carvedilol treatment group(LR+C,n=6),respectively orally giving physiological saline,metoprolol(1 mg?kg~(-1)?d~(-1)),and carvedilol(1 mg?kg~(-1)?d~(-1)) for seven days, and then late reperfusion of acute myocardial infarction model was made by ligating the coronary for 6 h,followed by reperfusion for 6 h.SOD,GR activity and MDA content of infarction brim myocardium were detected by colorimetry,Fas/FasL were detected by immunohistochemistry, apoptosis index(AI) were detected by TUNEL.Results Compared with LR,Myocardial MDA content in LR+C was decreased, and SOD and GR activities were significantly higher, but LR+M did not change. The expression of Fas/FasL and apoptosis index were significantly lowered in LR+M and LR+C,especially in LR+C.Conclusion Carvedilol and metoprolol have cardioprotection on late reperfusion of acute myocardial infarction, and carvedilol is superior to metoprolol and the pharmacological effects may due to its antioxidant effect.

Objective: To clone the cDNA of human sPLA2-IIA,construct the engineered Escherischia coli expressing human sPLA2-IIA and identify the expressed human sPLA2-IIA. Methods: Total RNAs were purified from human fetal spleen. The cDNA of human sPLA2-IIA was cloned by RT-PCR and inserted into plasmid pET32a(+) between NcoI and EcoRI sites for expressing the recombinant human sPLA2-IIA in Escherischia coli BL21(DE3). The recombinants were screened by SDS-PAGE. The engineered Escherischia coli expressing trxA-human sPLA2-IIA fusion protein was established. The expressed human sPLA2-IIA exists in the form of inclusion body and accounts for about 25% of the total proteins of Escherischia coli BL21(DE3). Conclusion: the engineered E. coli methods are suitable for preparing plenty of human sPLA2-IIA which has laid base for the large-scale expression, purification and basic studies of human sPLA2-IIA.

Objective Application of the second metatarpophalangeal joint by traction prolong trans- plant repair the defects in the metacarpophalangeal joint, reconstruct the function of it.Methods By means of the apparatus to prolong finger in advance, then transplant the second metatarpophalangeal joint to recon- struct metacarpophalangeal joint for seven cases of obsolete defects in the metacarpophalangeal joint. Results The average of finger prolong was 2.6 cm,consultation from 1 to 4 years.average 2.5 years, thai the trans- plant joints have all survived and osteal concrescence.Through the criterion Chinese Medical Association, good rate was 85.7%. Conclusion It' s a good method to repair obsolete defects in the metacarpophalangeal joint by transplant traction prolong of the second metatarpophalangeal joint.

Objective To explore protective effect of Heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) on irradiation-induced endothelial cell apoptosis. Methods Human endothelial cell line EA.hy926 were administered with or without HO-1 activator Copp and/or HO-1 inhibitor Znpp, respectively. Then, cells were treated with or without 8 Gy radiation. The HO-1 protein expression of cells were assessed with Western blotting and apoptosis of cells treated with irradiation were evaluated with flow cytometry. Moreover, cytochrome C releasing into cytosol were also determined by Western blotting. Results In PBS+R group,HO-1 protein expression of EA.hy926 was low posterior to irradiation. When cells were preconditioned with Copp and/or Znpp, then recieved with 8Gy irradiation, the HO-1 protein expression of EA.hy926 increased significantly in comparision with the PBS+R group(P

AIM To investigate the role of ginkgolide B on the ventricular wall motion and systolic function in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients after their revascularization.METHODS A total of 80 cases of AMI patients who underwent revascularization were divided into control group and ginkgolide B treatment group, with 40 patients per group. The two groups of patients both treated basically with routine western medicine were dosed with either placebo or ginkgolide B for 3 months. The cardiac function, normal myocardial percentages, ventricular wall motion, longitudinal peak systolic strain (LPSS) and rate (LPSSR) were evaluated by dobutamine stress echocardiography and these indexes were compared.RESULTS Compared to the control group, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (66.06 ± 8.39 vs.60.45 ± 13.35,P <0.05) and normal myocardial percentages (86.88 ±8.76 vs.79.84 ± 12.25,P <0.01) were significantly improved at the 2nd week in ginkgolide B treatment group, but no significant difference on ventricular wall motion was observed'between the two groups (P > 0.05).For the patients with anterior wall AMI,the minus LPSS and LPSSR at basal, middle and apex segment were significantly improved at the 2nd week in ginkgolide B treatment group compared to the control group (P < 0.05,P < 0.01).Moreover,LPSS at apex segment was significantly improved at the 3rd month in ginkgolide B treatment group compared to the control group (P < 0.05).For the patients with inferior wall AMI,minus LPSS at basal and apex segment were significantly improved at the 2nd week and the 3rd month in ginkgolide B treatment group compared to the control group (P < 0.05),whereas minus LPSSR at basal and middle segment at the 2 nd week and basal segment at the 3rd month were significantly improved in ginkgolide B treatment group compared to the control group (P <0.05).CONCLUSION Revascularized AMI patients treated with ginkgolide B can expect an improved ventricular wall motion.
