BACKGROUND:Current studies on the pathogenesis of ossification of the ligamentum flavum are stil in a preliminary stage, and any single factor influencing incidence of ossification of ligamentum flavum cannot completely explain the pathogenesis of this disease. OBJECTIVE:To summarize the pathogenesis of ossification of ligamentum flavum. METHODS:A computer-based online search was conducted in PubMed, Wanfang, and CNKI databases from January 1990 to December 2015 to screen the relevant literatures regarding the pathogenesis of ossification of the ligamentum flavum using Chinese and English key words“ossification of ligamentum flavum, basic research, pathogenesis, gene, bone morphogenetic protein, osteopontin”. Consequently, 63 eligible literatures were included after the exclusion of the repetitive and old ones. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Current studies have shown that ossification of the ligamentum flavum is a disease that results from multiple genetic and environmental causes and is one of the main causes of spinal stenosis. Tissue degeneration, local biomechanics, genetic factors, metabolic disorders, trace elements and vascular inflammation are all shown to be involved in the pathogenesis of ossification of ligamentum flavum.

Objective: To investigate the marriage quality of the couples with primary male infertility in order to provide consulting for them. Methods: 37 patients with male infertility and their mates were rated by Olson questionnaire. Results: ①Compared with other married couples, the scores of satisfaction degree of marriage, communication between couples and sexual life of the couples with male infertility are higher and the mates of these patients have higher scores than those of married female in the factors of resolving conflicts, extracurricular activities, relationship with relatives and friends.②The marriage quality between the patients with male infertility and the new wedding males has no difference, and the scores of the extracurricular activities of the wives of the patients with male infertility were higher than those of the new wedding wives, and the scores of the economic arrangement were significantly lower in the patients' wives. Conclusion: Male infertility has no obvious influence on marriage quality.

Orally disintegrating tablets (ODT), a kind of new solid tablet that rapidly disintegrates to work in the mouth, has became the hot form of new drug research in recent years with many advantages, such as the convenient taking, a widely applicable people, fast acting, high bioavailability, good compliance, and so on. ODT has been widely used in chemical medicines, while the application of it in traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) is still in the stage of development The development of TCMs ODT provides a new direction for the research of Chinese medicine new dosage, accelerates the pace of connecting to the world and modernization of Chinese medicine. This dosage has a broad market prospect, and its quality control and assessment standards, taste, the disintegration time in vitro and evaluation method are the key factors that affect the industrialization, standardization of Chinese medicine ODT. Therefore, this paper reviewed the characteristics, preparation, taste masking technology and quality evaluation with new technology of ODT. Meantime, numerous application examples of ODT used in traditional Chinese medicine were described. We expect to provide the reference and utilization for the development of traditional Chinese medicine orally disinteeratine tablets.

Objective:To investigate the strategies and methods of pancreatic cancer immunotherapy adopt cytotoxic T lymphocytes activated by dendritic cells(DCs),which modified by heat shock protein 70 peptide complex(HSP70-PC).Methods:HSP70 peptide complex from lumps of tumor-bearing mouse innoculated with pancreas cancer cell(MPC83)were purified by ConA-Sepharose and ADP-Agarose affinity chromatography.Dendritic cells derived from normal murine bone marrow were induced by GM-CSF and IL-4.MTT method was applied to analyses the proliferation activities of DCs.To achieve the specific T lymphocyte cells,DCs modified with HSP70 peptide complex were coculture with murine spleen lymphocytes for 48 hours. Then these activated lymphocytes were cocultured with MPC83 at ratio of effect-target 10∶1 and 20∶1 in vitro and the killing activities were detected by MTT method. Results:High purify HSP70-PC was obtained;104 DCs need 50~100ng of HSP70-PC to modify,100?g of HSP70-PC peptide complex can be extracted from per 1g lump;T cells stimulated by HSP70-PC modify DCs showed more specific cytotoxic activity to MPC83 than lymphocytes activated by DCs without HSP70-PC in vitro. Conclusion:We can extract high purity HSP70-PC for clinical individual immunotherapy from pancreatic cancer lump by using hypobaric affinity chromatography;DCs vaccine modified with HSP70-PC has significant kill effect against pancreatic cancer cell in vitro.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Yijing Recipe (YR) on the apoptosis of testis spermatogenic cells and the protein expression of Bcl-2/Bax in rats with adenine induced infertility.
METHODSTotally 75 Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, i.e., the blank control group, the model group, the high dose YR group, the middle dose YR group, and the low dose YR group, 15 in each group. Except those in the blank control group, rats in the rest groups were intragastrically administered with adenine for 10 successive days. From the 11th day, rats in the blank control group and the model group were fed with equal volume of normal saline. Rats in the YR groups were intragastrically administered with YR at different doses (3.38 g/100 g; 1.69 g/100 g; 0.85 g/100 g), once daily for 20 consecutive days. All rats were killed by the end of the experiment and their testes extracted. The apoptosis of spermatogenic cells and the expression of Bcl-2/Bax proteins were detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated biotinylated UTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) and SABC method.
RESULTSCompared with the blank control group, the Bcl-2 protein expression decreased, the Bax protein expression increased, and the apoptosis index increased in the model group, showing statistical difference (P <0.01). Compared with the model group, the Bcl-2 protein expression increased in the three YR treated groups (P <0.01, P <0.05). The Bax protein expression level decreased in the high and middle dose YR groups (P <0. 01, P <0. 05). The apoptosis index decreased in the middle dose YR group (P <0.01).
CONCLUSIONYR could inhibit the apoptosis of spermatogenic cells through regulating the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax protein in the testis.
