Objective: To investigate the expression of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT)in benign and malignant gastric diseases and its clinical significance. Methods: The expression of hTERT in 126 gastric tissue specimens obtained by surgery and endoscopy were studied by SP immunohistochemical method. The specimens included 10 cases of nomal mucosa,26 of chronic gastritis, 22 of benign ulcer,5 of leiomyoma, 3 of hyperplastic polyps, 50 of gastric cancer, 2 of maligmant lymphoma and 8 of sarcoma. In precancerous lesions,there was 54 cases of atypical hyperplasia,including 18 low grade, 25 of intermediate and 11 high grade. The positive expression rates and relations of clinical characters were analyzed. Objective To discuss and to compare the curative effects of interventional embolization with different embolic agents in treating giant hepatic cavernous hemangiomas. Methods From 2008 to 2010, a total of 30 cases with clinically proved hepatic cavernous hemangioma were treated with interventional embolization. According to the embolic agents used , the patients were divided into pingyangmycin-lipiodol emulsion mixed with sodium alginate microspheres group(PLE+KMG, group A, n=15) and pingyangmycin-lipiodol emulsion group (PLE, group B, n=15). CT scanning was performed one, 3, 6, 12 months after the treatment to evaluate the curative effect. Results The technical success rate was 100%in both groups. The mean PLE dose used in group A and B was (10.9 ± 5.2) ml and (11.4 ± 4.9) ml respectively, the difference between the two groups was not significant (P > 0.05). CT reexamination performed one, 3, 6 months after the treatment showed that a reduction in tumor volume over 50%in group A was seen in 9, 11 and 14 cases respectively, while in group B it was 0, 3 and 5 cases respectively (P <0.05). One week after the procedure, the degree of pain in patients of group A was more severe than that in patients of group B, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Slight abnormal hepatic function was seen in some patients of both groups, which presented mainly as an elevation of aminotransferase, which returned to normal after symptomatic medication. Follow-up with questionnaire indicted that patients of group A were more satisfied with the treatment than the patients of group B. Conclusion Transhepatic infusion of pingyangmycin-lipiodol emulsion is a safe and effective treatment for giant cavernous hemangioma of the liver. Combination use of pingyangmycin-lipiodol emulsion and sodium alginate microspheres can obviously reduce the tumor size mainly in the first and the third month after the treatment, besides it produces instant clinical effect although the pain is more severe than in patients treated with pure pingyangmycin-lipiodol emulsion.

Objective To probe into the application of left atrial volume tracking technique(LAVT)on the evaluation of right atrial function in patients with pulmonary hypertension.Methods Forty-one patients with pulmonary hypertension (pulmonary hypertension group) and 37 control subjects (control group) were involved.Right atrial maximal volume (RAVmax),right atrial presystolic volume(RAVpre),right atrial minimal volume (RAVmax),systolic right atrial filling rate (dv/dtS),early diastolic right atrial emptying rate(dv/dtE) and late diastolic right atrial emptying rate(dv/dtA) was derived by LAVT.Right atrial passive emptying volume (RAVp),right atrial passive emptying fraction (RAVpEF),right atrial active emptying volume (RAVa),right atrial active emptying fraction (RAVaEF),right atrial total emptying volume (RAVt)and right atrial total emptying fraction (RAVtEF) was calculated.All the right atrial volume parameter was corrected by body surface area to obtain right atrial volume index (RAVI).Results RAVImax,RAVImin,RAVIpre,RAVIt,RAVIa,dv/dtS and dv/dtA in pulmonary hypertension group was higher than that in control group [(78.39 ± 49.35) ml/m2 vs.(24.80 ± 11.91) ml/m2,(62.59 ± 46.56) ml/m2vs.(17.46 ± 8.40)ml/m2,(70.12 ± 48.03) ml/m2 vs.(20.02 ± 9.46) ml/m2,(18.77 ± 11.47) ml/m2 vs.(9.35 ± 6.74) ml/m2,(8.53 ± 9.81) ml/m2 vs.(3.25 ± 3.00) ml/m2,(145.85 ± 80.56) ml/s vs.(86.44 ± 48.46) ml/s,(155.63 ±126.47) ml/s vs.(67.74 ± 33.27) ml/s],and RAVIp in pulmonary hypertension group was lower than that in control group [(6.09 ± 5.16) ml/m2 vs.(10.23 ± 11.12) ml/m2],and there were significant differences (P ＜0.05).But there were no significant differences in RAVItEF,RAVIpEF,RAVIaEF and dv/dtE between two groups (P＞0.05).Conclusions In patients with pulmonary hypertension,right atrial booster pump function and reservoir function increases,while right atrial conduit function decreases.LAVT has a potential ability to evaluate right atrial function.

Objective To investigate the relationship between interleukin-17 (IL-17) and vitiligo.Methods Totally,32 vitiligo patients and 30 healthy human controls were enrolled in this study.Blood samples were collected from all the subjects,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was performed to determine the plasma levels of IL-17.The relationship of plasma IL-17 levels with disease stage,clinical course and lesion area was assessed.Results The plasma levels of IL-17 were significantly higher in the patients with progressive and stable vitiligo than in the healthy controls (both P ＜ 0.05),and higher in the patients with progressive vitiligo than in those with stable vitiligo (P ＜ 0.05).Moreover,the plasma levels of IL-17 were positively correlated with the area of vitiligo lesions (r =0.456,P ＜ 0.05),but unrelated to the clinical course of vitiligo (r =0.239,P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion IL-17 may play a certain role in the occurrence and development of vitiligo.

The records of 25 psychiatric patients ( clients ) who received case management from November 2009 to July 2010 were retrospectively analyzed.The factors related to the quality of professional relationship established between case managers and the clients were evaluated.The study revealed that timely supports, encourage and affirmation from case managers ( 40%) , the successful coordinate service (40%) , the active care for clients (24%) and helping to build up confidence and hope for clients (24%) were favourable factors for professional relationship establishment, while lack of desire to receive service and change from clients (24%) was adverse factor.

Objective To study the therapeutic value of endoscopy for secondary prophylaxis of esophagogastricvariceal bleeding(EGVB).Methods Records of 117 patients with EGVB who were treated with endoscopic ligation and/or histoacryl injection (n =55) and devascularization (n =62) from August 2006 to September 2014 were reviewed.Rebleeding rate,time of rebleeding,incidence of complication,cumulative survival rate,length of ward stay and mean total costs were compared between two groups.Indices were compared according to Child-Pugh.Results The rebleeding rate in the endoscopic group was higher than that in the surgical group[46.2％(24/52) VS 25.0％(15/60),P=0.019] during a mean follow-up of 32.5 months,especially in Child-Pugh B[60.0％(15/25) VS 22.2％(6/27),P=0.006].But the rebleeding time was similar between two groups(P＞0.05).The rate of complications in endoscopic group was lower than that in surgical group [20.0％ (11/55) VS 32.3％ (20/62),P =0.134].No significant difference in cumulative survival rate was observed between the groups (89.1％ VS 87.1％,P＞0.05).The length of ward stay[(14±9)d VS(23±8) d,P＜0.001] and mean total cost[(54 136.79± 44 836.32) yuan VS (73 601.86± 103 403.74)yuan,P＜0.05] in endoscopic group were significantly less than those in surgical group.Conclusion Therapeutic endoscopy is as effective as secondary prophylaxis of esophagogastric variceal bleeding.Endoscopic treatment leads to higher rebleeding rate,but is advantageous in similar rebleeding time,smaller injury,less complications,shorter length of ward stay and lower costs.

OBJECTIVE:To study the anti-tumor effects of Vinblastine (VLB) hydrophilic group modified cationic liposomes in tumor-bearing mice. METHODS:Tumor-bearing model were induced by inoculating yellow ascites of S180 ascites tumor mice. Tumor-bearing mice were randomly divided into model group,VLB sulfate injection group,VLB liposomes group,VLB hydrophil-ic group modified liposomes group,VLB cationic liposomes group and VLB hydrophilic group modified cationic liposomes group, i.e. group A,B,C,D,E and F,with 18 mice in each group. Group A was given normal saline intravenously via mice tail,other groups were given VLB 1.5 mg/kg every 2 days for consecutive 5 times. The anti-tumor effects of different VLB preparations were compared,using living conditions,survival time,tumor volume and weight,and tissue pathological section as indexes. RE-SULTS:Compared with group A,B,C,D and E,the mice of group F were more active,and had longer survival time,smaller tumor volume and lighter tumor weight,with statistical significance(P<0.05). The tissue pathological section of mice in group F indicated that coagulation necrosis,disintegration,and dissolution of tumor cell nucleus. CONCLUSIONS:VLB hydrophilic group modified cationic liposomes have obvious anti-tumor effect,which are better than other VLB preparations.
