0.05). Conclusion When TOFR recovers to 0.55,antagonism of residual neuromuscular blockade is still necessary.Different doses of neostigmine may antagonize vecuronium-induced residual neuromuscular blockade, and lower dose of neostigmine(10-20 ?g/kg) is recommended.

Objective To dynamically monitor the blood glucose in traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients within three days after admission, and to assess the impact of hyperglycemia on prognosis. Method Between 2007 and 2008, 62 TBI patients, who were admitted within 6 hours after the ineidence of injury without diahetes or severe combined injuries, were involved in this study. Blood glucose was monitored at 4 time points (instantly, 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours after admission). Patients were classified into the mild, the moderate, or the se-vere TBI group according to GCS (Glasgow Coma Scale) scores, being classified into the survival or the dead group according to prognosis, or into the mile or severe hyperglycemia group depending on whether the blood glucose ex-ceeds 11.1mmol/L on admission. T tests and χ2 tests were applied to analyze the relationship among blood glucose levels, the degrees of injury, and the prognosis of studied patients. Results Patients with mild, moderate, or se-vere TBI showed hyperglycemia with different levels, and the blood glucose levels was consistent with the degree of the injury. The blood glucose of the patients in the dead group were significantly higher at all checked time points than those of the survival group, particularly instantly after admission (8.51±2.01 mmol/L vs. 11.54±2.45 mmol/L, P=0.0001, t=4.988). The mortality of patients with severe hyperglycemia was 64.71%, signifl-candy higher than that of the mild hyperglycemia group 13.95% (P=0.0002, χ2=15.46). The Intensive Care Unit Length of Stay (ICULOS) of the above two groups was 22.6 and 10.2 days, respectively (P=0.021, t= 3.216), but their hospital length of stay (HLOS) showed no statistical difference (P=0.052). Conclusions Hyperglycemia, as an early stress response to TBI, may reflect the degree of the injury. Blood glucose levels that exceed 11.1 mmol/L on admission may imply high mortality of TBI patients, so this could be used as a simple indi-cator to predict prognosis.

Objective:To investigate the relationship between surface hydrogen form and the bioactivity of titanium. Methods:Sandblast titanium was etched with the combination of sulfuric and hydrochloric acids(SLA group,n=3 ).Then etched titanium was heat at 450 ℃in air(SLA+HT group,n=3).Surface topography, roughness, hydrophility, surface chemical texture were observed. Finally, the titanium samples were soaked in body simulate fluid for 3 days, the mineral deposition properties were observed by X-ray diffraction. Results:Titanium hydride was formed on the titanium surface after etching. After heat treatment, surface texture and roughness were not changed, titanium hydride decomposed and hydrophility increased.More hydroxyapatite was found on the surface of the samples treated by SLA+HT and followed by SBF.Conclusion:Titanium hydride can not improve the bioactivity of titanium, heat treatment may increase the mineralization.

AIM: The distribution of endothelin-1(ET-1) in uterine tube and its source were investigated in order to find out relation between endothelin-1 and function of uterine tube.METHODS: The distribution of endothelin-1 and the expression of ET-1 mRNA in the rabbits uterine tubes were studied using SABC immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization histochemistry with digoxigenin-labelled rat ET-1 cRNA probe. RESULTS: ET-1 granules with red color were seen in the uterine tube epithelial cells and they were located mainly above the cell nucleus and under the cell surface membrane. Less ET-1 granules were seen in the myometrium of uterine tube. ET-1 mRNA positive hybridization signals with deep blue were distributed in the uterine tube epithelial cells. These signals were strong and dense. They were distributed mainly above the nucleus and near the cell surface membrane. ET-1 mRNA positive hybridization signal was not seen in the myometrium of uterine tube.CONCLUSION: Our results indicate that epithelial cells of rabbit's uterine tube epithelial cells secrete ET-1.

An antibiotic-producing bacterium, which was numbered as 20 #-5, was separated from the soil in Chongqing. It was identified as the member of pseudomonas. Gram positive bacteria are badly suppressed by it. The antibiotic secreted by 20 #-5 can endure 100℃ for half an hour, and it can also go through the ultrafiltration membrane with pores of 0.22?m.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the non-ionizing radiation hazards from physiotherapy equipment in medical institutions and to explore feasible control measures for occupational diseases.
METHODSOn-site measurement and assessment of ultra-high-frequency radiation, high-frequency electromagnetic field, microwave radiation, and laser radiation were carried out in 16 medical institutions using the methods in the Measurement of Physical Agents in Workplace (GBZ/T189-2007).
RESULTSAll the investigated medical institutions failed to take effective protective measures against non-ionizing radiation. Of the 17 ultra-short wave therapy apparatus, 70.6%, 47.1%, and 17.64% had a safe intensity of ultra-high-frequency radiation on the head, chest, and abdomen, respectively. Of the 4 external high-frequency thermotherapy apparatus, 100%, 75%, and 75%had a safe intensity of high-frequency electromagnetic field on the head, chest, and abdomen, respectively. In addition, the intensities of microwave radiation and laser radiation produced by the 18 microwave therapy apparatus and 12 laser therapeutic apparatus met national health standards.
CONCLUSIONThere are non-ionizing radiation hazards from physiotherapy equipment in medical institutions, and effective prevention and control measures are necessary.

BACKGROUND: Surgical guides designed based on a three-dimensional cone-beam CT (CBCT) model have been reported. However, CBCT cannot remodel fine soft tissue such as gums, and it can only be used to design a simple dental retainer with relatively poor stability. OBJECTIVE: To establish a high-precision three-dimensional (3D) integrated maxillodental model by matching CBCT model with 3D digital maxillodental model using 3D automatic registration method, based on which, we designed and manufactured individualized miniscrew surgical guides. METHODS: CBCT maxillodental models and laser-scanned dentition models obtained from six malocclusion cases were matched and overlapped using the 3D automatic registration method to fabricate the 3D integrated maxillodental model. Then, we accurately positioned and virtually implanted a micro-implant into the 3D integrated maxillodental model. Subsequently we prepared a high-precision individualized resin surgical guide by rapid prototyping technology. The inner diameter of the guide track was detected by a vernier caliper. Patients tried on the resin surgical guide, and then occlusion condition, guide seating and retention were detected. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Due to the high-precision registration of the model, all the resin surgical guide plates were suitable. The plate retention was enhanced after tooth clinching, and all the patients felt comfort when wearing the surgical guide plate, with no compression or other discomforts. The inner diameter of the guide track was (1.79±0.23) mm, and the measurement error was not statistically significant (P >0.05). These findings demonstrate that the high-precision surgical guide plate based on the high-precision 3D integrated model can provide the foundation for further investigations on the clinical application of surgical guides.

ObjectiveTo investigate the anxiety and its interrelated factors of elderly outpatients. MethodsZung self-rating anxiety scale was used to evaluate 971 elderly outpatients, the scores between different sex, age, degree of education, etc. were compared. ResultsThe scores may become significantly different with the patients' sex, age, degree of education, satisfaction in regards to medical service and recognition of the disease(P<0.05).ConclusionFactors such as sex, age, degree of education, satisfaction of medical service, etc, deeply affect the anxiety in elderly outpatients.
