1.Research progress of infectious mononucleosis
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2016;39(5):475-478
Infectious mononucleosis(IM) was one of the clinical common diseases, caused by epstein-barr virus infection in more than 90%patients. Changes of the surface antigen of the B cells with EB virus infection caused strong immune response of T lymphocytes, besides, helper T lymphocyte, dendritic cells, NK cells also played an important role in the pathogenesis of IM. The incidence of IM was not only closely related with social environment in childhood, but also closely with the number of siblings, birth order, and sunshine factor. In addition to the typical clinical manifestations, IM also can cause a variety of complications, such as spleen rupture and necrotizing mediastinitis , and could be life-threatening. Auxiliary examination means such as state of peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis, plasma proteomics, cerebrospinal fluid analysis, load test of EB virus can help to diagnose. Application of antiviral drugs was wider, but hormone was still controversial. Vaccine research progress had been slow, but there were vaccines for human test, which will provide effective measures for the prevention of IM.

3.Research advances in herpesviruses glycoprotein N gene and its encoded protein.
Chinese Journal of Virology 2014;30(2):208-212
Glycoprotein N is encoded by glycoprotein N (gN) gene of herpesviruses. The amino acid composition and expression level of this protein vary among difference species of herpesviruses. According to present studies, gN protein is expressed in cytoplasm of host cells, mainly in endoplasmic reticulum. The gN forms a complex with glycoprotein M in host cells. The complex is involved in the processes of viral replication and inter-cellular infection. Moreover, this protein plays a role in immune evasion from host immune system. The study will provide a theoretical basis for further study of herpesvirus gN gene and its encoded protein.

4.Modified circumcision with a disposable suture device.
National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(6):541-544
OBJECTIVETo improve the methods and reduce the complications of circumcision with a disposable suture device.
METHODSThis study included 325 male patients aged 14-65 (mean 28.9) years, treated for redundant prepuce or phimosis by modified (n = 201) or conventional circumcision with a disposable suture device (n = 124). We compared the incidence of complications and the patients' satisfaction between the two surgical methods.
RESULTSCompared with conventional circumcision, the modified method showed a significantly lower incidence of postoperative bleeding (14.52% vs 2.49% , P < 0.05) and a lower rate of second surgery for penile hematoma (4.03% vs 0.50%, P < 0.05). The patients' satisfaction was markedly higher with the modified method (91.94%) than with conventional circumcision (97.51%) (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONModified circumcision with the disposable suture device can significantly reduce the incidence of postoperative bleeding and penile hematoma and therefore deserves wide clinical application.

Objective To analyze the expressions of astrocyte elevated gene-1 (AEG-1 )and Beclin-1 (BECN-1 )in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC)and their clinical significances. Methods Thirty patients with PTC who were performed total thyroidectomy in the General Hospital Affiliated to Tianjin Medical University from October 201 5 to May 201 6 were collected. All patients were diagnosed with unilateral PTC.The tumor tissues were taken from the patients′ipsilateral thyroids, and 30 cases of normal tissues were taken from the patients′contralateral normal thyroids. The expressions of AEG-1 and BECN-1 in PTC tissues were detected by reverse transcription-poly-merase chain reaction (RT-PCR).The relationships between the expression status and clinicopathologic features were analyzed. Results The positive expression levels [M(QR )]of AEG-1 in PTC and the normal tissues were 0.626 1 (0.741 4)and 0.049 8 (0.01 1 8)respectively,with a significant difference (Z=-4.488,P=0.000). The positive expression levels of BECN-1 in PTC and the normal tissues were 0.067 9 (0.1 98 1 )and 0.785 7 (0.361 7)respectively,with a significant difference (Z=-5.441 ,P=0.000).In PTC,the expressions of AEG-1 and BECN-1 were related to TNMstaging (Z=-3.980,P=0.000;Z=-2.265,P=0.023)and lymphatic metas-tasis (Z=-3.1 90,P=0.001;Z=-2.640,P=0.008),but they were not related to age (Z=-1 .203,P=0.229;Z=-1 .1 62,P=0.245),gender (Z=-1 .222,P=0.222;Z=-0.453,P=0.651 )and tumor size (Z=-1 .496,P=0.1 35;Z=-1 .1 66,P=0.244).The expression of AEG-1 was negatively correlated with that of BECN-1 (r=-0.343,P=0.007).Conclusion The expression of AEG-1 in PTC is higher than that in normal tissues and the expression of BECN-1 in PTC is lower than that in normal tissues, and the expressions of AEG-1 and BECN-1 are related to TNM staging and lymphatic metastasis, which are expected to become prognostic indicators.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(10):-
Objective To explore the difference in pulmonary function between chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and overlap syndrome patients. Methods 50 hospitalized COPD patients who were randomly recruited were divided into two groups, which contained 33 COPD patients and 17 overlap syndrome patients respectively. All the 50 patients’pulmonary function was evaluated and the results were analyzed statistically. Results The pulmonary function test showed that only PEF and V75 significantly decreased in overlap syndrome patients compared with COPD patients(P=0 032 and 0 048 respectively),But pulmonary volume, small airway function and pulmonary diffusion function in 5 COPD patients with severe sleep apnea syndrom (SAS) were significantly reduced compared with COPD patients. Conclusions Upper airway obstruction in SAS patients aggravates the pulmonary ventilation function in overlap syndrome. And obesity deteriorates both of the pulmonary function and hypoxemia in patients suffered from COPD.
9.Study on the relationship between chest radiograph changes and clinical features
Chinese Journal of Infectious Diseases 2001;0(06):-
Objective To observe the radiological feature of chest X ray in SARS patients. Methods The chest films of 54 cases of SARS were reviewed in the study. The chest film features and site of lung involvement were studies in early stage, most severe stage and recovery stage. The correlation between the score of lung involvement and clinical course was also studied. Results 79.63% cases had abnormal chest films in early stage. Most of them (72.22%) were found in 3~7 days after onset. The lung involvement was most common in bilateral (88.89%) and most in middle and lower field (46.30%). Exudation and consolidation lesions showed to be dominant. The lesions progressed quickly and showed to be variable. There are 17 (31.48%) cases had second peak in X ray, the mean time of onset is 14.71 days. The chest X ray is not parallel with clinical syndrome. The absorption of lung infiltrates is correlation with glucocorticosteroids treatment in 20 patients, and the correlation is not found in 26 patients. Conclusions The chest X ray of SARS has some features and its changes can reflect the clinical situation.

Objective To investigate and evaluate the changes of PYK2 expression in hippocampal neurons and microglial cells in Kainate acid-induced status epilepticus. Methods Kainate acid-induced status epilepticus was established in rats, and by using immunostaining, changes of PYK2 expression in hippocampal neurons and microglial cells was investigated. Results Expression of PYK2 in hippocampal pyramidal neurons was markedly decreased after kainate acid-induced status epilepticus. However, 24h after the epileptic onset, a pronounced up-regulation of PYK2 and phosphor-PYK2 immunoreactivities were evident in amoeboid microglial cells. The upregulation of PYK2 and phosphor-PYK2 was in accordance with the morphological changes of the activated microglial cells. Conclusion PYK2 was activated in microglial cells after seizure. Furthermore, the activation of PYK2 in microglial cells after seizure might be related to the morphological and behavioral changes of microglial cells after activation.
