BACKGROUND: Establishment of lumbar disc degeneration in animal models can help doctors understand the development rules and pathophysiological changes of this disease, and can explore and research more rational treatment by creating animal models.OBJECTIVE: To review recent advances in vivo model of lumbar disc degeneration.METHODS: The first author used the computer to search related articles on PubMed database and Chinese Journal Full-text Database from inception to May 2016. The search key words were lumbar disc, degeneration, animal model, vivo model. A total of 161 related articles were retrieved and 49 of them met the inclusion criteria.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Building an intuitive and reliable animal model of lumbar disc degeneration will not only help the basic research of degenerative disc disease, but also provide a good experimental carrier for the repair treatment of degenerative lumbar disc. (2) After more than 80 years of development, the animal model of lumbar disc degeneration has formed a production mode of more species, more methods and newer ideas. Current models have their own advantages, cannot be replaced. However, problems such as poor controllability, low degree of safety or long observation period are still exiting more or less. All these need further research and exploration.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(05):-
Aim To determine the protective effects of IMD on ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) injury and its possible mechanism.Method Isolated rat hearts were perfused by Langendorff mode, and after 45 min global ischemia and 30 min reperfusion ventricular function was measured on a Power Lab,and adequate amount of ventricular tissues and perfusate were collected for biochemical measurement. Results Treatment with IMD during the reperfusion period significantly attenuated the effects of I/R on cardiac function inhibition and tissue injury.Compared with I/R group,IMD induced increase in △LVP,LV(dp/dtmax,HR and CF,whereas induced decrease in LVDP.Reperfusion with IMD exerted decrease in LDH,total protein,Mb and MDA content compared with I/R group, but increased myocardial cAMP content. All these values were similar to the effects of ADM.Furthermore,I/R induced significant increase in Bmax and Kd value. Conclusion IMD exerted beneficial effects on cardiac injury induced by I/R which might be mediated by cAMP pathway. And the cardioprotective effects of IMD were equal to ADM,a potent cytoprotective factor.

Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(01):-
Objective To explore the related factors with plasma neuropeptide Y in 180 normal healthy people by stepwise regression analysis. Methods Right ventricular end-diastolic diameter(RVDD),inter-ventricular septum end-diastolic thickness(IVST),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVDD),left ventricular posterior wall end-diastolic thickness(LVPWT),ejection fraction(EF),strole volume(SV),cardiac output(CO),cadiac output index(CI),stroke volume index(SI) and plasma neuropeptide Y were measured respectively by echocardiography and immunoradioassay in all subjects. In addition,we examined the height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate and subcutaneous fat thickness in every subjects. Results The plasma neuropeptide Y wasn't significant difference in different gender and age(P≥0.05). The plasma neuropeptide Y of healthy population was normal distribution and the 95% of confidence interval 70.27 to 190.61,and 99% of confidence interval was 51.23 to 209.65. Conclusion The EF,height,LVST,diastolic blood pressure,CO,SV and subcutaneous fat thickness were the major related-factors of neuropeptide Y in plasma. The EF and height were negatively correlated with plasma neuropeptide Y,and other five factors were postive correlated with it.

Objective To explore the alteration of brain pain functional areas in patients with functional dyspepsia (FD) irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) overlap by rectal balloon volume stimulation and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and the differences with IBS alone patients and healthy individuals were compared. Methods A total of 11 IBS alone patients,16 IBS overlapped with FD patients (IBS-FD) and 10 healthy controls were recruited.Sensory thresholds and visual analogue scale (VAS) were recorded during the rectal balloon air injection process. The changes of brain activated areas were analyzed by functional MRI (fMRI) when the rectum was stimulated at the volume of 50,100 and 150 ml.The data were analyzed by least significant difference (LSD) test. Results Under rectal volumetric stimulation, the sensory thresholds of IBS-FD group and IBS alone group were (53.14 ± 16.05) ml and (59.20 ± 20.55) ml and the difference was not statistically significant (LSD test,P>0.05).There was no significant difference in VAS score between IBS alone group and IBS-FD group (LSD test,P>0.05).Rectal stimulated under different volume, the results of fMRI indicated the activation of anterior cingulated cortex, dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, postporietal cortex, thalamus and insular cortex in both IBS alone group and IBS-FD group. And there was no significant difference in activated areas and intensity between IBS alone group and IBS-FD group (LSD test,P>0.05).Conclusions There was no significant difference in activations of brain areas between IBS alone and IBS-FD patients under rectal volumetric stimulation. Under rectal volumetric stimulation, although symptoms overlapped, there was no evidence of the overlap of braingut axis and visceral hypersensitivity between IBS alone and IBS-FD.

Objective To investigate the relationship of high sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6)and soluble IL-6 receptor (sIL-6R)with the severity of clinical symptoms and coronary artery lesions in coronary heart disease (CHD)patients. Methods A total of 522 CHD patients were recruited and divided into three groups:stable angina pectoris (SAP),unstable angina pectoris (UAP)and acute myocardial infarction (AMI)groups.Another 102 healthy individuals served as normal controls (NCs).We calculated Gensini score according to the result of coronary angiography (CAG),collected clinical data and compared the groups. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to investigate the relationship of hs-CRP,IL-6 and sIL-6 R with Gensini score. Results The plasma hs-CRP,IL-6 levels were significantly higher and sIL-6R level was signficantly lower in SAP,UAP and AMI groups than in NC group (P<0 .0 5 ).There was a positive correlation between IL-6 level and Gensini score but a negative correlation between sIL-6 R and Gensini score presented by multiple linear regression analysis (P<0.05 ).Conclusion In CHD patients, plasma hs-CRP,IL-6 and sIL-6R levels are significantly related to the severity of clinical manifestations and coronary artery stenosis. These indicators may help predict the severity of CHD.
