Objective To quantitatively evaluate the left ventricular systolic synchrony in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT-3DE). Methods Thirty patients with CRF and twenty-five normal subjects were enrolled in this study.The M-mode ejection fraction (M-EF), left ventricular end diastolic internal diameter (LVIDd), interventricular septum diameter (IVSd), left ventricular posterior wall diameter (LVPWd) were obtained on two-dimension. The global and regional volume-time curves were obtained on three -dimensional. The end diastolic volume (LVEDV),end systolic volume (LVESV) and ejection fraction (LVEF) of left ventricule, the time to minimal systolic volume (Tmsv) of 16,12,6-segmental standard deviation (Tmsv16, 12, 6-SD), maximal difference (Tmsv16, 12, 6-Dif) were derived from Qlab software . The above parameters as a percentage of the cardiac cycle with different heart rates between patients were also calculated from the Qlab software, which were Tmsv16, 12, 6-SD% and Tmsv16, 12, 6-Dif %, rspectively. Results The indices of HR, LVIDd, IVSd, LVPWd and LVESV were significantly higher while LVEF was significantly lower in the CRF group than those of the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01); The indices of systolic asynchrony of Tmsv16,12-SD%, Tmsv16,12-Dif, Tmsv16 ,12 ,6-SD/R-R%,Tmsv16,12,6-Dif/R-R% were significantly larger in the CRF group than those of the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusions RT-3DE provides a simple, intuitional and noninvasive approach to assess the systolic synchrony of all the LV segments simultaneously and LVEF in patients with chronic renal failure.

Objective To establish an ultraviolet-irradiation damage model in cultured fibroblasts derived from human skin and to explore the potential protective effects and mechanisms of amyloid precursor protein 17-met peptide (APP17-mer peptide) on the oxidative damage and collagen metabolism in cultured fibroblasts after ultraviolet irradiation. Methods Human dermal fibroblast cultures were established by outgrowth from foreskin biopsies of a healthy donor and were irradiated by a single exposure to ultraviolet rays and cultured in a series of concentrations of APP17-mer peptide (0, 20, 40, 80 μmol/L).The activity of fibroblasts was detected by the assay of MTT. The intracellular ROS level was measured with a confocal microscope. The expression of MMP-1 mRNA was analyzed real-time quantitatively following RT-PCR. Results Primary cultures of human skin fibroblasts were established from human foreskin in DMEM supplemented with 10 % fetal bovine serum. UV irradiation depressed cellular activity and increased intracellular level of ROS (P<0.05). 40μmol/L and 80μmol/L APP17-mer peptide increased the cellular activity in both UV irradiated fibroblasts and unirradiated fibroblasts (P<0.05), however,20 μmol/L did not show such protective effects (P>0. 05). 40μmol/L APP17-mer peptide could depress the level of ROS in irradiated libroblasts. A single exposure of fibroblasts to UV irradiation resulted in 1.78 foldup-regulation of MMP-1 mRNA compared with unirradiated sample, 40μmol/L and 80μmol/L APP17-mer peptide decreased the expression of MMP-1 mRNA (P<0.05 and P<0.01, respectively).Conclusion APP17-mer peptide can enhance cellular activity under UV-induced oxidative stress and in-hibit collagen degradation in fibroblasts irradiated with ultraviolet rays. Inhibition of ROS production may be involved in the protective mechanism of APP17 peptide.

The aim of this study is to develop the Tripterygium glycosides nanoemulsion gels and investigate its pharmacodynamics. Oleic acid was used as oil phase, polyoxyethylene castor oil as surfaetant, and 1,2-propanediol as cosurfactant to screen the formula of Tripterygium glycoside nanoemulsion using the pseudo-temary phase diagrams. Then the nanoemulsion gels was prepared. The ICR mouse ears were sensitazated by 7% DNCB, and then were excited by 0.3% DNCB to stimulate the model of mouse chronic dermatitis and eczema. The concentrations of IFN-γ, IL-4 and IL-8 in mouse blood were determined by ELISA. The results showed that Tripterygium glycosides nanoemulsion gels could significantly inhibit the swelling of mouse ears(P < 0.01) and ameliorate the edama and erythema of model mouse ears skin. Also it could significantly decrease the expression of IFN-γ and IL-4 in model mouse blood. Tripterygium glycosides nanoemulsion gels had a good therapeutic effect on mouse model of dermatitis and eczema. It was expected to provide a new and long-acting exterernal preparation for the treatment of dermatitis and eczema.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of hepatitis C viurs (HCV)infection and its genotypes in Yancheng area . Methods A total of 20 185 cases of subjects receiving healthy examination were collected ,and fasting blood levels of serum anti‐HCV were detected .Clinical data of patients with HCV infection were statistically analysed .HCV genotypes and levels of HCV RNA were detected ,and their clinical prognosis was judged by type‐B ultrasonic .Results The total infection rate of HCV was 1 .22% .The infection rate of male was higher than that of female and the infection rate was increased with the elevation of age .The genotype 1b was accounted for 73 .17% .The results of type‐B ultrasonic shown that all patients infected with genotype 6 and 1b/2a HCV only had liver damage .80 .77% of patients infected with genotype 2a HCV had liver damage ,which was higher than that of patients infected with 16 and 3a+3b genotypes .Conclusion Most of HCV infected patients are male ,and the infection rate might be increased with the elevation of age .The prognosis is in various different genotypes of HCV ,which indicates that the prognosis could be evaluated by genotyping .

Objective To investigate the influence of motor impersistence on functional recovery and prog- nosis of patients with left hemiplegia. Methods A total of 64 in-patients with left side hemiplegia who were able to understand the oral instructions were assigned into a motor impersistence group (n = 31 ) and a control group (n = 34) , respectively, according to the assessment with Scale of Motor Impersistence developed by Joynt. Both groups were comparable in terms of the basic clinical characteristic and motor function of patients except motor impersis- tence. The conventional rehabilitation training programs were adopted for all patients in this study. Brunnstrom func- tional category, Ueda Satoshi hemiplegic finger function assessment scale, upper limb function assessment scale, Berg balance scale, Functional ambulatory category, Modified Barthel Index were employed to evaluate the subjects before and after 1 and 2 months of treatment, with regard to the motor function of their upper limbs, walking ability, activities of daily living performance and balance ability. Results After 1 month of treatment, the patients in the M1 group were significantly improved with regard to the motor function of upper limbs, hand function, standing ba- lance and activity of daily living performance( P0.05 ) , while those in the control group were improved with all the parameters except the lower limb function. Increased recognition of human parvovirus B19,as a significant human pathogen has resulted in intensive researches to understand the pathogenesis of B19 infection,to elucidate the nature of Th1-mediated cellular immune response,to improve diagnostic strategy that is deployed to detect B19 infection and blood-product contamination,and to lay a foundation that should contribute to the development of an effective vaccine to prevent B19 infection.In this review,the biologic characteristics and the pathogenesis of human parvovirus B19,and B19-related manifestations as well as laboratory diagnostic methods for B19 infection were comprehensively discussed.

Objective To investigate the imaging features of sarcomatoid carcinoma(SC)of lung on chest radiography and CT and to improve knowledge of SC.Methods The chest plain films,CT images and clinical data of all 7 cases of pathologically proved lung SC were retrospectively analyzed.Results All cases presented with a spheroid solid lung mass ranged from 3 to 11 cm in diameter(average 7 cm).All the lesions were located in middle and lower fields of the lung:3 lesions in right lower lobe,2 in right middle lobe,and the other 2 in left lower lobe.Among the 7 cases:6 cases were of peripheral type and 1 case was of central type.The peripheral-typed lesions of 5 cases had clear margin and 3 of them were lobulated.Three massess were homogenous in density,and the other 4 were inhomogeneous in density with formation of central cavity or calcification.After intravenous contrast administration.Three lesions showed homogeneous enhancement,and the other 4 lesions had inhomogeneous enhancement.The lesions with diameter larger than 6 cm showed marginal or patch-like enhancement.Five cases had pleural or chest walls invasion.Two cases had mediastinal lymph nodes metastases.One case had multiple remote metastasis.Conclusion There are some relatively specific features of lung SC on chest radiography and CT,which may be helpful for diagnosis.

In the criminal cases of driving under the influence (DUI), DNA evidence can be collected from the deployed airbag of the motor vehicle and submitted to the crime lab for touch DNA analysis. The evidence can be acquired when the skin cells are observed on the surface of the airbag in a traffic accident. However, the low quantity or quality of the evidence collected from a crime scene prevents further identification analysis in many cases. In the current study, we reported a case of identifying touch DNA extraction from the shed skin cells from the deployed airbag of a motor vehicle. We managed to collect DNA evidence from the shed skin cells in an airbag using a proper approach of collection and extraction. The 5.87 ng of extracted DNA was sufficient for genotyping and forensic identification, which helped to identify the driver of the car in collision with a pier in the street. In DUI cases and other traffic accidents, therefore, the amount of touch DNA extracted from the deployed airbag can be sufficient for DNA marker genotyping and further analysis.
