BACKGROUND:It is reported that gelatin sponge particles and chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres have high application prospects in the treatment of hemoptysis of pulmonary tuberculosis.METHODS: Forty SPF Kunming mice were selected to make animal models of pulmonary tuberculosis hemoptysis using aerosolized inhalation device and randomly divided into two groups undergoing embolization for hemostasis using gelatin sponge particles and chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres, respectively. Body mass changes, hemostasis time, effective rate of hemostasis, related indexes of myocardium and pathological changes of pulmonary tuberculosis were observed at 15 and 30 days after treatment.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Mice in the chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres group had higher body mass than those in the gelatin sponge group at 15 days after treatment (P < 0.05). (2) Compared with the gelatin sponge group, the hemostatic efficiency was higher and the time of hemostasis was shorter in the chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres group (P< 0.05). (3) There were no significant differences in the levels of BNP precursor, creatine kinase isoenzyme and creatine kinase between the two groups (P > 0.05). (4) The lymphocyte infiltration and necrotic lesions were found around the microspheres, necrotic lesions were found, and there were a lot of active cells on the microspheres. There were a few lymphocytes in the gelatin sponge group. These results show that that the chitosan/α, β-glycerophosphate gel microspheres have better hemostatic effects in comparison with gelatin sponge particles in a mouse model of pulmonary tuberculosis.

Objective:To determine phenolphthalein illegally added into diet health products by Raman spectroscopy. Methods:Raman spectroscopy was used to determine phenolphthalein added into diet health products. The diet health products were extracted by suitable solvents, and then the extracting solution was measured by Raman spectroscopy. Results: A calibration curve was built and the analysis was performed on the samples with phenolphthalein at different concentrations. The results were accordance with the real added amount. Conclusion:With simple sample preprocessing method, Raman spectroscopy can be used in the fast detection of phe-nolphthalein illegally added into diet health products. The method is fast and simple with low cost, and can provide both qualitative and quantitative results. The detection limit is 1% for phenolphthalein in diet health products.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the features of adverse drug reaction(ADR) in our hospital and evaluate the quality of ADR report in order to promote rational clinical drug use and find out the existing problems in the report. METHODS: Microsoft Excel was designed to analyze statistically the sex and age of the patients, category of the used drugs and the clinical manifestations of ADR in 311 cases of ADR report collected between 2002 and 2005.RESULTS: The occurrence of ADR induced by antibacterials ranked the first.ADR affecting skin and its appendages counted for 50% of the total. The numbers of ADR reports were found to be less than expected.CONCLUSIONS: Professional staff training should be strengthened, the use of antibacterials should be rationalized to lessen and avoid the occurrence of ADR.

Microbiology 2008;0(12):-
A bacterium(designated as LW-3), capable of degrading Chlorimuron-ethyl, was isolated from the long-term contaminated soil by Chlorimuron-ethyl. Based on physiological and biochemical analyses and sequences comparison of 16S rDNA, strain LW-3 was identified as Pseudomonas sp. LW-3 could use Chlorimuron-ethyl as sole nitrogen source for growth. The optimum pH and temperature for degradation of Chlorimuron-ethyl were pH 6.5~7.2 and 30?C~35?C, at same temperature the pH change to the Chlorimuron -ethyl degrading influence is large. When the pH and temperature were pH 6.5 and 32?C, 50 mg/L Chlori- muron-ethyl could be degraded to 70%~80% level within 7 days.

Objective To explore the psychological stressors of pregnant women with chronic HBV infection. Methods Using phenomenological method of qualitative study, there were 9 pregnant women with chronic HBV infection participated in the study and their mental stress was investigated by deep interview. Results Five main psychological stressors of pregnant women with chronic HBV infection emerged:fear of children being infected; anxious about giving birth in the hospital for infectious diseases; having no idea of selecting the mode of delivery and feeding pattern; worrying about their own health; to feel nervous about playing the role of mothers. Conclusions Healthcare workers should make appropriate health guidance and psychological supports to alleviate the psychological distress combined with features of pregnant women with HBV infection. At the same time,it is necessary to make change of public misunderstanding of hepatitis B,so as to create a fair and friendly social atmosphere for all the hepatitis B patients.

A method was proposed for the separation and determination of paraffin waxes in food by HPLC-evaporative light scattering detection (ELSD). A normal-phase column was used to separate nonparaffinic and paraffinic materials without resolving the latter into individual components. The t-test method was adopted for the evaluation of mean difference between response factors of n-alkanes in paraffin waxes on ELSD detector. No mean difference was obtained between response factors, which can be used for quantitative determination of paraffin waxes in food. The determination results obtained by HPLC-ELSD were compared with those by GC-MS. The linear range for the determination of paraffin waxes was in the range from 10 to 500 mg/L with a correlation coefficient of 0.9988, and the limit of detection was 1.0 mg/L. With the spiking level of 10, 50 and 100 mg/kg, the recovery ranged from 84.6% to 105.4% and the relative standard deviation ranging from 5.4% to 7.2%. The proposed method is simple, fast and sensitive.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2005;30(10):735-738
OBJECTIVETo review the species and distribution of the medicinal plants peculiar to Guizhou and provide evidence for application, protection and collection.
METHODOpen-air investigation, data collection and specimen identification.
RESULTMore than eighty kinds of the medical plants peculiar to Guizhou have been identified.
CONCLUSIONGuizhou has a diversity of medicinal plants. The area of distribution of most species is restricted and the population is small. Some of the species have higher medicinal and scientific research values.

Objective:To explore the accuracy of CT-guided 125I seed implantation assisted by a navigation system and 3D-printing template in the treatment of recurrent malignant pelvic tumors by comparing pre-plan and intraoperative physical dosimetric parameters. Methods:This study involved 15 patients with recurrent malignant pelvic tumors who received CT-guided radioactive 125I seed implantation assisted by a navigation system and 3D-printing template in the Peking University Third Hospital from Dec 2018 to Feb 2020.Seven of the patients had cervical cancers, seven had rectal cancers, and one had prostate cancer. The median age was 55 years (34-84 years old). The prescription dose was 100-150 Gy.The pre-plan and post-implant data were compared, including the number of implanted seeds, implantation needle number, and some dosimetric parameters such as the minimum prescription doses delivered to 90% and 100% of target volume( D90, D100), mean percentages of volume receiving 100%, 150%, and 200% of the prescription doses( V100, V150, and V200), conformity index(CI), external index(EI), and homogeneity index(HI)of the target volume. Results:The median lesion volume was 29.20 cm 3, the median seed number was 54, and the median D90 was 150 Gy.The post-implant V150 was lower than pre-plan V150 (64.1% vs. 67.1%, t=2.937, P=0.011), and the post-implant mean HI was higher than pre-plan HI (32.01% vs. 26.68%, t=-2.950, P=0.011). There were no significant differences in other dosimetric parameters before and after seed implantation. Conclusions:With CT-guided radioactive seed implantation assisted by a navigation system and 3D-printing template in the treatment of recurrent malignant pelvic tumors, the actual postoperative dose could meet the preoperative plan requirement, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of the dose delivered.
