Chinese Journal of Epidemiology 2003;24(11):1036-1039
OBJECTIVETo find out an appraisal method of temperature on the first appearance date of Culex tritaeniorhynchus in spring.
METHODSWhole night collection of mosquitoes mosquitoes (from 18:00 hours to 06:00 hours of the following day) with light traps had been carried out in pig sties every night since 1 March in 1982 - 1992 and 2001 - 2002 in Fengxian area Shanghai. The adult mosquitoes caught were anaesthetized, then identified and counted. The density of mosquitoes was calculated by the average number of mosquitos per one trap and one night. Comparative analysis of the mean daily air temperature at 7 days before, the first appearance date and 1 day after, the first appearance date of Culex tritaeniorhynchus.
RESULTSData of the first appearance data of Culex tritaeniorhynchus were judged to mean daily air temperature and cumulative temperature on the day of the first appearance of Culex tritaeniorhynchus and the day before appearance, or 3 days on the day of the first appearance of Culex tritaeniorhynchus and the two days before appearance and the day since appearance with a difference less than 1 - 2 day (91.7%).
CONCLUSIONThe first appearance of Culex tritaeniorhynchus in spring accompanied with a course of influence by the severe warm air advection from south of China, and lowest mean daily air temperature of the first appearance was 11 degrees. Thus the first appearance data of Culex tritaeniorhynchus could be deduced and rehabilitated from observed values of mean daily air temperature or its forecasting values.

OBJECTIVETo explore the association of 8-hydroxyguanine glycosidase OGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism with semen quality and the risk of male infertility.
METHODSThis case-control study included 620 idiopathic infertile patients and 385 normal fertile controls. We determined their genotypes by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and analyzed their semen quality by computer-aided semen analysis (CASA).
RESULTSThe individuals with OGG1 326 Cys/Cys showed significantly lower sperm motility and concentration ([52.1 +/- 26.7]% and (3.75 +/- 0.91) x 10(6)/ml, ln transformed value) than the Ser/Ser carriers ([59.0 +/- 21.8] % and (4.12 +/- 0.88) x 10(6)/ml, ln transformed value) (P < 0.05). The risk of male infertility increased 69% in the OGG1 326Cys allele carriers as compared with the Ser carriers (OR = 1.69, 95% CI: 1.24 -2.31).
CONCLUSIONOGG1 326 Ser/Cys polymorphism might contribute to the risk of male infertility in the southern Chinese population.

The crude toxin was extracted from hypha and culture solution of Phyllosticta commelimecola through three different polarity solvent: benzinum, puncificatum ethyl acetate and chloroform. The result indicated that the toxin secreted by Phyllosticta commelimecola not only was in hypha but also in culture solution and the extracting effect of ethyl acetate was the best. The soybean median and PSK media can be respectively used as solid and liquid culture media to produce toxin and grow mycelium. The optimal cultural conditions for producing toxin were temperature 32℃,cultured period 14d, cultured ways shaking of 150r/min.

BACKGROUND: Vincristine is an antimitotic agent used for treatment of leukemia, lymphomas, and cancers. Its main side effect is a dose-related, length-dependent axonal neuropathy.METHODS: We performed electrodiagnostic examinations in 18 children who had been treated with vincristine and who presented with the clinical picture of a peripheral neuropathy.RESULTS: The mean cumulative dose of vincristine was 37.7±26.5 mg/m². Electrodiagnostic examination showed an axonal neuropathy with a length-dependent pattern. All patients showed motor nerve abnormalities and sensory nerve abnormalities were observed in 13 patients (72.2%). The number of affected nerves was 2.67±1.1 (mean±SD) of four motor nerves and 1.5±1.4 of four sensory nerves. The mean reduction of the compound muscle action potential amplitude was 70.9±42.2% in the median nerve and 23.7±20.8% in the peroneal nerve compared to normal value. However, the mean change in the sensory nerve action potential amplitude was 139.9±78.5% in the median nerve and 246.9±169.7% in the superficial peroneal nerve. There was statistically significant difference between amplitude reduction of the compound muscle action potential and sensory nerve action potential.CONCLUSION: The quantitative analysis of electrophysiological motor predominance described differs from the mainly sensory neuropathy reported in adults. Incomplete myelination in motor nerve due to young age may have resulted in greater sensitivity of some nerves to neurotoxic agents.

Journal of Xinxiang Medical College 2017;34(12):1089-1092
Objective To investigate the value of tumor-stroma ratio(TSR) in evaluating the prognosis of patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).Methods A total of 87 patients with TNBC were selected from January 2010 to December 2014 in the Second People's Hospital of Yibin. The TSR was detected by Hematoxylin eosin staining, the patients with TSR <50% were included in the stroma-rich group, and the patients with TSR≥50% were included in the stroma-rare group. The influencing factors of tumor-free survival and overall survival in TNBC patients were analyzed by COX regression model. The effect of TSR on tumor-free survival and overall survival in TNBC patients was further analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. Results Among the 87 TNBC patients, there were 38 patients with TSR≥50% (stroma-rare group) and 49 patients with TSR < 50% (stroma-rich group). The 5-year tumor-free survival rate and overall survival rate of the 87 TNBC patients was 52.9% (46/87) and 56.3% (49/87) respectively.Single factor COX regression analysis showed that the tumor diameter staging, lymph node metastasis, the number of tumors and TSR were significantly correlated with the overall survival rate and tumor-free survival rate of patients with TNBC (P < 0.05).Multivariate COX regression analysis showed that the tumor diameter staging, lymph node metastasis, the number of tumors and TSR were independent risk factors for overall survival rate and tumor-free survival rate of patients with TNBC (P < 0.05).Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the tumor-free survival rate and the overall survival rate of TNBC patients in the stroma-rare group were 68.4% (26/38) and 73.7% (28/38),and they were 40.8% (20/49) and 42.9% (21/49) in the stroma-rich group. The Log-Rank test showed that the overall survival rate and disease-free survival rate of the TNBC patients in the stroma-rare group were significantly higher than those in the stroma-rich group (x2 =7.788,9.799;P < 0.05).Conclusion TSR is significantly associated with the prognosis of TNBC patients, and it is an independent risk factor for the prognosis of TNBC patients.TSR can be used as an indicator for evaluating the prognosis of TNBC patients.
