OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical efficacy and safety of Kangfuxin liquid in the treatment of pediatric hand, foot and mouth disease. METHODS:128 children with hand, foot and mouth disease were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 64 cases in each group. Control group was given routine treatment as herpes and oral care, antibiotics for infec-tive children reflected by hemogram elevation, fluid infusion and non-steroidal analgesic-antipyretic agent based on disease condi-tion. Observation group was additionally given Kangfuxin liquid,3 ml for below 3 year-old,tid and 5 ml for more than 3 year-old,tid. Clinical efficacy of 2 groups were observed as well as CRP,lactic acid,Ig,the level of myocardial enzyme before and after treatment;the time of symptoms and signs disappearance and ADR were compared between 2 groups after treatment. RE-SULTS:The total effective rate of observation group(89.06%)was significantly higher than that of control group(70.31%),with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in CRP,lactic acid,Ig and myocardial enzyme before treat-ment and IgM level after treatment between 2 groups, with statistical significance(P>0.05). CRP,lactic acid creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase level of 2 groups decreased significantly, while IgA and IgG levels increased significantly, and the observa-tion group was higher than the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). Antipyretic time, hand foot skin rash subsided time and oral ulcer healing time of observation group were significantly shorter than those of control group, with statistical signifi-cance(P<0.05). No obvious ADR was found in 2 groups during treatment. CONCLUSIONS:Kangfuxin liquid is effective in the treatment of hand, foot and mouth disease in children, and can effectively improve CRP,Ig,lactic acid, and myocardial enzyme level with good safety.

Objective To investigate outcomes of different operations in treatment of cervical spinal fracture in patients with ankylosing spondylitis and summarize experiences and bases in selection of operation. Methods A retrospective study was done on 19 patients with cervical spinal fracture following ankylosing spondylitis treated between 2005 and 2011 and received complete follow-up.Among them, nine patients were treated with combined anterior and posterior surgical approach (combined treatment group),seven with single posterior surgical approach (posterior approach group) and three with single anterior surgical approach (anterior approach group).Clinical data,follow-up data and image outcome of the patients were collected and compared. Results All patients received average 14 months of follow-up (range,12-20 months). In combined treatment group, the fracture was healed at postoperative 4-6 months. One patient had palsy of recurrent laryngal nerve but was recovered at postoperative three months.Seven patients with incomplete spinal cord injury had at least one level improvement in neurological function according to American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) classification. No implant loosening or shifting were found in internal fixation. In posterior approach group, fracture was healed at postoperative 4-6 months, with no surgical complications, loosening or shifting of implants.Five patients with incomplete spinal cord injury had at least one level improvement in neurological function according to ASIA classification. In anterior approach group,an additional operation for implant loosening was performed in one patient at postoperative four weeks. The other two patients obtained fracture healing at postoperative four and five months respectively, without implant loosening.Condusions Combined anterior and posterior approaches can not only be the first choice for treatment of cervical spinal fracture following ankylosing spondylitis, but also be used for patients with bone defect at fracture site or separation at fracture end, with no necessity of postoperative external fixation.Single posterior reduction and fixation can be considered in patients with transvertebral fracture in the absence of bone defect, separation at fracture end, displacement or slight displacement, with necessary postoperative external fixation. However, single anterior fixation takes risk of implant failure and needs postoperative external fixation.

Objective To investigate the effect of rocuronium on spectral entropy during induction of general anesthesia in patients of Uygur nstionality. Methods Forty ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients (Uygur nationality) of both sexes, aged 20-50 yr, weighing 45-70 kg, undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia, were divided into 2 groups ( n = 20 each): normal saline (NS) group and rocuronium group (group R). Anesthesia was induced with target-controlled infusion of propofol. The initial target plasma concentration wan net at 2 μg/ml. The concentration wan then increased by 0.5 μg/ml every 4 min until response entropy (RE) was decreased to 45 and maintained for 4 min. When the plasma concentration was equal to the effect-site concentration, iv rocuronium 0.6 mg/kg was injected in group R, while group NS received the equal volume of NS instead. Fentanyl 3 μg/kg was injected intravenously at 3 min after recuronium administration. The patients were tracheal intubated and mechanically ventilated. State entropy (SE) and RE were recorded immediately before induction (baseline, To), before rocuronium administration (T1), 2 main after rocuronium administration (T2) and at 0, 1, 2 and 3 min after intubation (T3-6). The difference between RE and SE wan calculated. Results The RE value at T3 and T4 and the difference between RE and SE at T2.5 were significantly lower in group R than in group NS ( P < 0.05). Conclusion Rocuronium can decrease the RE value and degree of increase in the difference between RE and SE during induction of general anesthesia in patients of Uygur nationality, which may affect the accuracy of spectral entropy in monitoring the depth of anesthesia.

Chinese Journal of Nervous and Mental Diseases 2010;36(3):165-167
Objective To evaluate the impact of multiple lacunar infarction (MLI) on the outcomes of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Methods MCI patients were selected in outpatients and hospitalized patients using a common international standard MCI screen. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography (CT) were used to determine the presence of MLI. MCI patients were followed up for 6~24 months and their cognitive status and the impact of MLI on MCI were evaluated using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis. Results One hundred twenty patients were diagnosed as having MCI based on clinical evaluation and neuropsychological assessment. Among them, 43 (35.8%) patients had MLI and the rest 77 (64.1%) patients did not have. Twenty-seven MCI patients with MLI (62.8%) developed dementia, while 15 MCI patients without MLI (19.4%) developed dementia during 6~24 months follow-up. Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated that the incidence of dementia was significantly higher in patients with MLI than in patients without MLI did (P<0.05). Conclusions MCI patients with MLI are more prone to dementia. These results suggest that early interventions aimed at controlling the modifiable risks are warranted for dementia prevention in MCI patients with MLI.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2014;13(5):482-484
A teaching method called cross-disciplinary joint teaching, which integrated the neural system-based physiology, anatomy and histology from gross morphology to micmstructure, then to physiological function, was carried out on 2010 clinical eight-year program medical students.Jointteaching method was carried out throughout the whole courses. That means in three subjects related to the discipline, teachers compile the textbook, discuss teaching scheme, compile cases, collectively prepare lessons, and attend lectures and discussion together.Flexible teaching forms such as casebased teaching,problem-based teaching and bilingual teaching were also run through the whole processes of the teaching.Compared with the traditional teaching model,cross-disciplinary joint teaching not only achieves the integration of morphology, microstructure and functions of nervous system, but also has a priority of helping the students to develop a more efficient learning ability such as initiative study and thinking extension.
