Objective To explore the difference of pathogenesis between chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and asymptomatic hepatitis B virus(HBV) carriers(ASCs) in children. Methods Subtracted libraries was constructed by suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) from peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) of two groups, beta-2-microglobulin (?_2-MG) was screened as one of differentially expressed genes. Serum was collected from children with CHB and ASCs, the differential expression of ?_2-MG was confirmed by enzyme immunoassay. Results Subtractive libraries were constructed successfully, the differentially expression of ?_2-MG and lactroferrin were up-regulated in CHB children. And the differentially expression of ?_2-MG on the level of protein was confirmed. Conclusion The up-regulation of ?_2-MG in CHB children is involved in the pathogenesis mechanisms.

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of aromatase P450,COX-2,ER and PR in the patients with adenomysis. Methods The immunohistochemistry staining was used to detect the expression of aromatase P450,COX-2,ER and PR in ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium of 30 patients with adenomyosis and 30 cases in control group. Results The expression of aromatase P450,COX-2 in ectopic endometrium were significantly higher than those in eutopic endometrium (all P < 0.05) ; The expression of ER,PR in ectopic endometrium were significantly lower than those in eutopic endometrium (all P < 0.05),excepted the expression of PR in eutopic endometrium, the expressions of both ER and PR lose their periodical cycle. There was positive correlation between the expression of aromatase P450 and COX-2 in adenomysis group(P < 0.05).In adenomyosis, the expression of aromatase P450,COX-2,ER and PR in dysmenorrhea subgroup were significantly higher than those in non-dys menorrhea subgroup(all P < 0.05).Conclusion Aromatase P450,COX-2 and ER play important roles in the genesis and development of adenomyosis and dysmenorrheal,PR is not the main pathogenic factors of adenomyosis. The expressions of aromatase P450,COX-2 and ER in adenomyosis have nothing to do with endometrial cyclical change and are not subject to the regulation of ovarian hormones.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the therapeutic effect of Liujunzi decoction combined with Zuojin pills in treating the radioactive duodenitis and their mechanism, and compare with clinical routine acid suppressants combined with mucous membrane protective preparations to study the mechanism of their efficacy.
METHODAccording to the study of Williams J P and characteristics of duodenitis, and by reference to the radiation enteritis modeling standard, we took the lead in establishing the mouse radioactive duodenal injury model. The model mice were randomly divided into the control group (n = 26), traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) group (n = 16) and the western medicine (oral administration with famotidine 0.5 mL + almagate suspension 0.3 mL per mouse, once a day) group (n = 16). After the standard administrating, such objective indexes as general condition, weight, changes in health score, pathology and expression of inflammatory factors were observed to evaluate the efficacy.
RESULTThe radioactive duodenitis model of mice was successfully established with 12 Gy. Mice in the control group suffered from weight loss, anorexia, low fluid intake, loose stools, and occasionally mucous bloody stool, poor spirit, dim fur, lack of exercise and arch back. Mice in drug intervention groups were generally better than those in the pure irradiation group. The IL-6, IL-1beta, TNF-alpha mRNA expressions in spleen and mesenteric lymph node tissues in TCM and western medicine groups showed a declining trend compared with the control group. Their concentrations in peripheral blood serum also slightly changed. The TCM group revealed notable advantage in reducing inflammatory factors. The microscopic observation showed that a better mucosa repair in intervention groups than the pure irradiation group. The improved Chiu's scoring method showed a statistical significance in the difference between TCM and western medicine groups (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONLiujunzi decoction combined with Zuojin pills could treat acute radiation enteritis, regulate organic immunity, and inhibit acute injury, promote local tissue repair, with the potential to resist such adverse effects as radiation intestinal fibrosis. The regulation of inflammatory factor release is one of efficacy generation mechanisms.

Epmedii Folium is a commonly used traditional Chinese drug, and is beneficial for the "liver" and "kidney" s function in Chinese medicine. Recently, the origin of this drug is more complex. Most of the identification studies are emphasized on the species certified by the pharmacopoeia and other related species from the same genus of Epimedium, but few was emphasized on the counterfeit. In this paper, one counterfeit of Epmedii Folium, identified as the dried leaf of Quercus variabilis (Fam. Fagaceae), has been reported based on field investigation, comparing specimen of Epmedii Folium and Q. variabilis, using the macroscopic, microscopic and TmC methods. It is resulted that they could be identified clearly not only by the macroscopic features, such as the vein character and the tooth apex, but also by the microscopic features, such as the vascular bundles of the midrib, the non-glandular hair, the anticlinal wall of the epidermis cell and the calcium oxalate crystal. Furthermore their TLC chromatograms showed also difference. This study will give reference for the identification of Epmedii Folium and the related supervision and inspection work.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2009;43(5):460-464
Objective To investigate the values of tCho concentration in early assessment therapeutic response of tumor to neoadjuvant chemotherapy with 1HMR spectroscopy. Methods Twenty patients with breast cancer were recruited. All patients underwent biopsy before neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgery after chemotherapy. The pathologic results before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy were compared. The patients were divided into effective response group (R) and ineffective response group (IR). MRS acquisitions were performed within 1 week before chemotherapy and within 3 week after the first cycle of chemotherapy, respectively. The tCho concentration was calculated quantitatively using external standard method. The tCho concentrations before and after chemotherapy and the tumor sizes between R group and IR group were compared using t test and nonparametrie test. The values of tCho concentration in early assessment of the effectiveness of chemotherapy were analyzed by ROC. Results Of 20 cases, 16 were included in R group and 4 in IR group. In R group, significant differences of tCho concentration (t=5. 040, P < 0. 01 ) existed between before and after chemotherapy [ (4. 24 ± 3.09 ), ( 1.13 ± 1.14 ) mmol/L ], while not in I R group [ ( 3.72 ± 2. 69), ( 3.06 ± 2. 21 ) mmol/L, t = 1. 785, P > 0. 05 ]. The median sizes of tumor between R and IR group had no significant differences (0. 00,0. 00 cm, U = 23.00, W = 33.00, P = 0. 437). The area under ROC curve of tCho concentration was 0. 984. Conclusion With in vivo 1HMRS, the tChn concentration in breast cancer can serve as an indicator for predicting response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy with relatively high sensitivity and specificity.
