Terapeutic options used to repair tendon and ligament injury consist of autografis,allografts and synthetic prostheses.Tendon and ligament of tissue engineering have their unique advantages as alternative therapy.Choosing the proper scaffold materials is important for successfully constructing tissue engineering tendon and ligament,so in this review we focus on natural and artificial scaffold materials used in tissue engineering of tendon and ligament in recent years.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of greenlight photoselective vaporization of the prostate(PVP) for benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) in aged patients.Methods A total of 90 aged patients with BPH underwent PVP with an 80 W KTP laser(Laserscope Company) under sacral or peridural anesthesia.Results The operative time was(42.5?18.4)min;the postoperative urinary catheter time was(2.5?0.8)d.Qmax increased significantly from(4.8?1.2)ml/s preoperatively to(18.6?1.4)ml/s postoperatively(t=22.566,P=0.000).International prostate symptom score decreased from(25.5?2.4)points preoperatively to(13.2?1.9)points postoperatively(t=12.286,P=0.000).Residual urine decreased from(76.3?9.4)ml preoperatively to(16.5?2.4)ml postoperatively(t=21.901,P=0.000).Transient dysuria occurred in 4 cases and postoperative delayed hemorrhage in 2 cases.No urinary incontinence occurred.Conclusions PVP for BPH is a safe and effective procedure,and suitable for aged and high-risk patients with BPH.

This study was to investigate the relationship between chronic diseases and quality of life among community residents beyond 60.From September 2005 to November 2005,1731 residents aged 60-89 were surveyed with a general information form and the the MOS 36 item short from health survey (SF-36).The results showed that the subjects with no chronic diseases seemed to have higher scores,while SF-36 values dropped to some extent when the number of diseases increased.In comparison with diabetic or hypertensive subjects,those with heart disease had lower SF-36 scores for all items,except for general conditions and physical capability.

Surveys on depression status of elderly population in a community of Shanghai Jing'an District were carried out in 2005 and 2008 respectively. The cluster sampling method was used in the study,1731 and 2315 community residents aged 60 -89 were selected in two surveys. The depression status was evaluated with geriatric depression scale (GDS). During the first survey 297 out of 1731 people were identified as depression with a prevalence rate of 17. 2%; during the second survey 374 out of 2315 people were found to have depression with a prevalence rate of 16. 2%. The factors related to depression status included family support, hobby, ability of self-taking care, family finance and chronic diseases.

A method based on HPLC-ICP-MS was established to separate the reaction products of ( ethylenediamine) palladium(Ⅱ) chloride([Pd ( en ) Cl2])and 5’-deoxyguanylic acid ( 5’-dGMP). Two reaction products were detected at pH 8. 0 with 25 mmol/L phosphate buffer solution as chromatography eluent. One was the main product with HPLC retention time of 2. 8 min, the other product’s retention time was 3.2 min. According to ESI-MS(MS/MS) study, m/z=510, 511, 512, 514, 516[M+1]+ parent ions ( abundances same to palladium isotopes) were detected. Further analysis showed that the main product was[Pd( en) ( N1-5’-dGMP) ]. However the other product was hardly to be detected by ESI-MS. By using HPLC-DAD and HPLC-ICP-MS, we found that the two reaction products had the same UV absorption spectra and palladium percentage content. Combined with other groups’research, the other reaction product was deduced as dimmer, trimer or tetramer form of[Pd( en) ( N1-5’-dGMP) ]. Further study revealed that[Pd( en) ( N1-5’-dGMP) ] was easily formed in acid solution while its polymer form was generated in alkaline solution. At pH 6. 0, [Pd(en)(N1-5’-dGMP)] was formed within 12 hours with good stability. Research also revealed that the total amount of two reaction products declined as reaction pH climbed.

ObjectiveTo explore the correlation between cortactin differential expression and metastasis of colorectal cancer by testing the expression of cortactin in cell sublines with different metastatic ability.MethodHuman colon cancer cell line SW1116, and sublines of fifth subcutaneous ( SW1116_5), first, fifth generation (CRCLM1 、CRCLM3 ) characteristic of different liver metastasis were implanted subcutaneously in BALB/c mouse.Tumors were transplanted into the colon, and liver metastasis was observed, Western blotting and real time-PCR was used to detect the varience of cortactin. Transwell assay was applied to evaluate four cell lines migration and invasion ability. Immunohistochemistry was used to analyze the relationship of cortactin and clinicopathological characterizing in 86 cases of colorectal cancer.ResultCRCLM3( 100％ )has higher ability of metastasis than that of CRCLM1 ( 89％ ), SW1116(40％ )and SW1116_5 (44％) respectively. Expression of cortactin in the SW1116, SW1116_5, CRCLM1,CRCLM3 was gradually increased. There were significant differences between four cell lines by comparison between each others ( P ＜ 0.05 ). Immunohistochemical expression of cortactin in 86 cases was positive in 57 cases(66％ ), and negative in 29 cases (34％).ConclusionsDifferent expression of cortactin with colorectal cancer metastasis and clinical stage was positively correlated. Cortactin is a potential indicator for clinical staging and tumor metastasis of colorectal cancer.

Objective To investigate the effect of dexmedetomidine on minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) of isoflurane required to inhibit the body movement during skin incision. Methods Forty-eight ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients aged 40-60 yr with body mass index of 22-27 kg/m2 undergoing elective upper abdominal surgery under general anesthesia were randomly divided into 3 groups: control group (group C, n = 15);low dose dexmedetomidine group (group D1, n = 17) and high dose dexmedetomidine group (group D2, n = 16). The patients were unpremedicated. Dexmedetomidine 0.4 and 0.8 μg/kg in normal saline (NS) 15 ml was infused over 15 min before induction of anesthesia in D1 and D2 groups respectively. Anesthesia was induced with fentanyl-propofol-succinylcholine. The patients were mechanically ventilated after tracheal intubation. Anesthesia was maintained with isoflurane. MAC of isoflurane was determined by up-and-down technique. The initial end-tidal isofiurane concentration was set at 1.0%, 0.8% and 0.6% in C, D1 and D2 groups respectively. Each time the end-tidal isoflurane concentration was increased/decreased by 0.2%. Skin incision was made after 15 min of equilibration, when the twitch height returned to more than 90% of its control value. Movement of body and limbs including swallowing and coughing were carefully looked for when skin incision was made. MAC of isoflurane was the mean of end-tidal concentration of isoflurane of each crossover pair, and 95 % CI was calculated. Results MAC of isoflurane was significantly decreased in D1 and D2 groups as compared with group C and in group D2 as compared with group D1( P ＜ 0.05 or 0.01 ). Conclusion Dexmedetomidine can significantly decrease MAC of isoflurane required to inhibit the body movement during skin incision in a dose-dependent manner.

Objective:To establish a method for the microbial limit test of Jingzhi Guanxin tablets. Methods: According to the methods in the 2010 edition and 2015 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia, the test was performed respectively. Results:Jingzhi Guanxin tablets showed obvious inhibitory effect on Bacillus subtilis. The bacteria count could be carried out by the culture medium diluting methods in the 2010 edition. The total amount of aerobe could be detected by the membrane filtration method in the 2015 edition. The total combined molds and yeasts count could be performed by the plate count method and the specified microorganism could be tested with the routine method. Conclusion:The above methods can be used for the microbial limit test of Jingzhi Guanxin tablets.

AIM: To investigate the effect of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) priming on macrophage(M?). METHODS: Macrophage cell line RAW264.7 were pretreated with or without LPS for 1 h, then challenged with PMA, or LPS, muramyl dipeptide(MDP), Zymosan, formyl-methionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine(FMLP) for 1 h . O  2 production in supernatants and intracellular free calcium([Ca 2+ ]i ) were measured, and changes in [Ca 2+ ]i and LPS induced O  2 production were compared. RESULTS: LPS pretreatment significantly increased O  2 production in RAW264.7 cells challenged with the stimuli, and in a certain extent, both O  2 production and increase of resting intracellular [Ca 2+ ]i were dose- and time-dependent on LPS pretreatment.Furthermore,the peak [Ca 2+ ]i was significantly higher in LPS pretreated groups than that of LPS unpretreated groups when challenged with PMA. Pretreatment with Ca 2+ inophore A23187 mimicked the LPS priming effects on O  2 production, but pretreatment with Ca 2+ chelator BAPTA and EGTA blocked this priming effect. CONCLUSION: LPS induced M? priming effect on O  2 production is dependent on elevation of resting intracellular [Ca 2+ ]i .
