World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2013;(4):697-701
Through the analysis on different development paths of western and Chinese medical ethics, this article proposed to construct the Chinese medical ethical review system. Although the medical ethical review system was originated in western countries, due to different origins of medical ethical thoughts, different cultures and beliefs among races, as well as different medical and science development models, the application of western medical eth-ical review system should not be mechanically used in China. The application should follow the idea of har-monization with differences. This article discussed on current status and significance of the construction of an ethical review platform which is suitable to the national conditions of China. It was also emphasized on the im-portance of ethics training among researchers.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the immediate and 1-year outcomes of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with domestically made drug-eluting stent (DES) in patients with previous coronary bypass graft surgery (post-CABG) in order to determine the relationship between related factors and major adverse cardiovascular and cerebral events (MACCE) after PCI. Methods From September 2008 to October 2009, 83 consecutive post-CABG patients had implantation of 176 domestically made DES for 126 coronary lesions. Each patient was followed up at least for 1 year after the procedure done for the evaluation of the efficacy and safety of DES implanted in post-CABG patients. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the relationship between major factors and MACCE.Results The success rate of operation procedure was 97. 5%. MACCE occurred in 10 patients including death in 1 patient, stroke in 1 patient, myocardial infarction in 1 patient, and those were treated with repeated coronary revascularization in 8patients and target lesion revascularization (TLR) in 1 patient. ConclusionsImmediate and medium-term results showed the safety and efficacy of revascularization with domestically made DES in post-CABG patients. Complete revascularization was an independent predictor of MACCE.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2001;35(1):56-59
Objective To assess the CT manifestations and diagnostic value in the pancreatic tuberculosis(PTB)with review of the literatures. Methods All cases of PTB proved by surgery or biopsy were examined with plain and enhanced CT scans. Results The CT findings in one case with multiple-nodular type of PTB were diffuse enlargement of the pancreas with multiple, nodular, and low-density lesions; The nodular lesions had peripheral enhancement. 7 cases of local type of PTB encroached on pancreatic head. 4 cases showed local soft tissue masses with multiple flecked calcifications in 2 cases and mild enhancement in one case; Cystic masses was found in 2 cases, with mural calcification in 1 case and multiloculated cystic mass in 1 case, respectively; Massive pancreatic head calcification was demonstrated in one case. In these 8 cases of PTB, the lesion extended out of pancreas in 4 cases, including abdominal tuberculous lymph nodes, tuberculous peritonitis, and hepatosplenic tuberculosis. Conclusion CT findings of PTB were various but had some characteristics. Pancreatic masses with multiple flecked calcification or mild enhancement could suggest the diagnosis. Abdominal tuberculosis accompanied with the pancreatic lesion, especially tuberculous lymph nodes, was highly suggestive of the diagnosis of PTB.

Objective To observe the changes of S-opsin expression in guinea pigs with flickering light-induced and form-deprived myopia, and to investigate the causes. Methods Thirty-six two-week-old healthy guinea pigs were randomly assigned to three groups:Flickering light-induced myopia group(FLM group,n=13),form-deprived myopia group(FDM group,n=12) and control group(n=11).For the FLM group, the cages were equipped with astroboscope(0.5 Hz),and LEDs were used as the light source. The right eyes of the guinea pigs in FDM group wore translucent goggles which did not interfere with the normal activity of their eyelids. No special treatment was given to the guinea pigs in the normal groups. All measurements were performed prior to and then after 6 weeks of treatment. The first measurement day was recorded as 0 week.Biological parameters, such as the refraction, axial length(AL) and corneal radius of curvature(CRC),were measured and fundus photography is performed before and after 6 weeks of the treatment. The expression of S-opsin was observed and analyzed by immunofluorescence technique and image analysis system. Results Before the treatment,no significant difference was found in three biometric measurements including refraction,AL and CRC between the groups at 0 week(P>0.05).After the treatment for 6 weeks, significant differences were found in changes of both the biometric measurements between the FLM and control groups, and between the FDM and control groups(P<0.05).However,no significant differences were found in the changes of CRC among the FLM,FDM and control groups(P=0.358),indicating that myopia models were established successfully. No significant differences were found in the changes of values of refraction,AL and CRC between the FLM and FDM groups(P>0.05).Expression of S-opsin differed in the FLM and FDM groups. For the mean gray values of green channel, compared with the control group respectively, significant differences were found in both the FLM and FDM group(P<0.001).The mean gray value of green channel of the FLM group was higher, however the mean gray value of green channel of the FDM group was lower. Conclusions Both guinea pig models of flickering light-induced and form-deprived myopia can be established successfully.S-opsin is increased in the flickering light-induced myopia model and decreased in the form-deprived myopia model, indicating that the mechanisms of formation of these two experimental myopia models may be different.

Objective To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of Astragalus injection combined with sub-hibernation therapy for treatment of patients with severe craniocerebral injury. Methods A retrospective research method was conducted, and 89 cases with severe craniocerebral injury admitted to the Department of Critical Care Medicine of the First People Hospital of Baiyin in Gansu Province from January 2010 to December 2016 were enrolled. Astragalus injection combined with sub-hibernation was applied for treatment of 45 patients in the observation group, and for another 44 cases assigned in the control group, simply conventional treatment was used. The Glasgow coma score (GCS), coma time, ratio of cripple, mortality, incidences of pulmonary infection and urinary tract infection were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, GCS scores were significantly higher than those before treatment in both groups, but the degree of increase was more marked on the 30 days after treatment in the observation group than that in the control group (13.15±2.53 vs. 8.79±1.59,P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, coma time was obviously shorter (days: 5.79±1.89 vs. 13.65±2.73), ratio of cripple [13.33% (6/45) vs. 22.73% (10/44)] and mortality [17.78% (8/45) vs.31.82% (14/44)] were significantly lower in observation group (allP < 0.05); the incidences of pulmonary infection [22.44% (11/45) vs. 31.82% (14/44)] and urinary tract infection [28.89% (13/45) vs. 36.36% (16/44)] were lower in the observation group, but the differences between the two groups were not statistically significant (bothP > 0.05).Conclusions The treatment of Astragalus injection combined with sub-hibernation treatment can significantly improve the coma degree, shorten the time of coma, reduce the mortality and disability rate of patients with severe craniocerebral injury.
