1.The influence of course experience and course engagement on learning outcomes
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2015;31(22):1639-1644
Objective To explore the relationship of course experience, course engagement and learning outcomes in medical nursing. Methods Adapted Course Experience Questionnaire and Selfestablished Course Engagement Questionnaire were used to collect data of 142 nursing undergraduates of which 126 were valid. The data were analyzed by regression analysis. Results Course experience had significant impact on course engagement,t=4.621,2.477,4.538,P<0.01 or 0.05.Course engagement had significant impact on learning outcomes,t=2.439,P< 0.05.Course experience had significant impact on learning outcomes,P< 0.05.Conclusions It is proposed that the clinical courses should provide students with good experience, increase the deep learning engagement, and reform evaluation methods to improve the students' academic achievement.

Chinese Journal of Infectious Diseases 2001;0(05):-
Objective To investigate the correlation between pathogens and spectrum of disease in infants with human cytomegalovirus(HCMV) active infection. Methods A total of 378 cases of HCMV infection diagnosed by the identification of HCMV IgM or PP65 antigen of HCMV.HCMV gB genotyping was carried out by nested PCR and restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) in 107 cases. The results of pathogen, spectrum of disease and clinic feature were analyzed. Results In all 378 infant patients with HCMV,27.78% were systemic infection and 72.22% involved just single organ.Hepatitis,HCMV inclusion disease, thrombocytopenic purpura, pneumonia were pre- dominant with 33.07%,27.78%,13.49%,6.35% respectively. The rate of HCMV inclusion dis ease in infants younger than 2 weeks was higher than in those aged from 3 12 weeks(P ~ 0.05) and children older than 12 weeks(P<0.01).Infants with higher rate of PP65 antigen positive cells were apt to systemic infection than those with lower rate of PP65 positive cells(P<0.01).Infants,who were positive by detections of all three methods, were apt to systemic infection than others(P<0.01). Moreover, infants positive of IgM and PP65 antigen were apt to systemic infection than those just positive by one of the two methods(P<0.01).The result of gB genotype analysis in 107 cases showed 53 cases of gBⅠ,20 of gBⅡ.18 of gBⅢ.7 of gBⅠ+gBⅡ,5 of gBⅠ+gBⅢand 4 of gBⅡ+gBⅢ,and gBⅣwas not found. Conclusion HCMV could infect multiple organs and have some different clinic features.Combination of different methods can increase the sensitivity to detect the pathogen. The gBⅠgenotype is most prevalent in these infants.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(7):721-724
ABSTRACT The taboos of man-spirit (RenShen) and bottom-spirit (KaoShen) are two kinds of time-related contraindications that are more commonly seen in the literature of acupuncture and moxibustion. The meaning of man-spirit is often extended to qi-blood or mind, or else directly equals to heaven-spirit (TianShen). It is highly possible that the bottom-spirit is subordinate to man-spirit, and both Taoist philosophy and the SanCai theory declare the importance of bottom in human body. The violation of contraindications could lead to diseases in the neighborhood where man-spirit travels. However, the results are generally recorded as ulcer, lingering disease and death in most medical texts. From Ming dynasty, more and more doctors have expressed disapproval of man-spirit and bottom-spirit.

Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
Problem-based learning(PBL)is an important part of creative education in medical colleges.Choice and design of cases are of the vital importance to success or failure of PBL course. To enhance students' ability of independent, creative thinking, and their ability of analyzing and solving problems, the roles of primitive cases and model cases as well as interrelation between them were discussed respective- ly.Moreover, five basic principles to be followed in model case design for PBL in Medical Microbiology and Human Parasitology,i.e.objec- tivity, flexibility, consistency, illumination and relevance, were proposed in this study.

OBJECTIVETo observe effects of phytoestrogens quercetin (QC), Genistein (GEN), coumestrol (COM), and enterolactone (ENL) on gap junctional intercellular communication (GJIC) in HaCaT cells.
METHODSHaCaT cells were exposed to QC, GEN, COM, and ENL at 0.1, 1.0, 10.0 and 100.0 micromol/L for 24 hours. The effects of phytoestrogens on GJIC were determined by fluorescence redistribution after photobleaching (FRAP) technique of using a laser scanning confocal microscope (LSCM).
RESULTSQC did not affect the GJIC at 0.1-10.0 micromol/L, whereas, GEN, COM, and ENL exhibited inhibition on the GJIC in some extent at 0.1-10.0 micromol/L without showing significant cytotoxicity. The ratio of fluorescence recovery were between 31.77% to 37.06%, which were significantly decreased compared the vehicle control (44.74%).
CONCLUSIONThe phytoestrogens GEN, COM, and ENL, but not QC, could inhibit the GJIC function in HaCaT cells at concentrations could be reached in human serum in some instance, indicating they could, under certain conditions, be cancer promoters. Therefore, it should be prudent to use these chemicals as pharmaceuticals or dietary supplements.

To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of tripterygium glycosides (TG) combined with ACEI/ARB preparation in treating diabetic nephropathy stage IV. The computer retrievals were made in Cochrane Libarary, PubMed, Embase, SCI, Sinnomed, CNKI, Chinainfo and VIP, and hand retrievals were conducted for meeting and academic papers (updated to December 30, 2014), in order to collect randomized controlled trials and quasi-randomized control trials for TG combined with ACEI/ARB preparation in treating diabetic nephropathy stage IV and set the literature inclusion and elimination standards. Eligible literatures were included and evaluated according to standards in Cochrane Handbook. RevMan 5.3 and Stata 12.0 were used for a Meta-analysis. A total of 13 randomized controlled trials and quasi-randomized control trials involving 1119 patients with diabetic nephropathy were included. The Meta analysis result showed that compared with the control group, the combination group showed better effects in reducing the 24-hour urinary protein [MD = -0.84, 95% CI (-1.02, -0.66)], raising albumin [SMD = 0.98, 95% CI (0.81, 1.16)], the total efficiency [OR = 4.23, 95% CI (2.77, 6.46)] and the significant efficiency [OR = 5.35, 95% CI (2.70, 10.60)], with no statistical difference in Serum Creatinine between Both groups [MD = -0.82, 95% CI (-4.30, 2.66), P = 0.64]. However, the risk of adverse reactions increased by 7% [RD = 0.07, 95% CI (0.03, 0.12)]. The Egger's test showed no publication bias. Tripterygium Glycosides combined with ACEI/ARB in treating diabetic nephropathy stage IV is supper than the single administration of ACEI/ARB, with a good prospect in clinical application. Nevertheless, due to the small-size and low-quality samples in this study, more high-quality and large sample-size randomized controlled trials shall be conducted to verify the findings.
