Objective:To investigate the relationship between levels of plasma thrombopoietin(TPO) and thrombocytopenia.Methods:Sixty-eight thrombocytopenia with different causes were injected with rhIL-11 domestically made, by 25 ?g/(kg?d) for 10 days continuously. The plasma TPO levels were determined by quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique in thrombocytopenic patients between before and after treatment.Results:(1)The serum TPO controls of patients with thrombocytopenia after acute leukemia(AL) chemotherapy were lower than normal controls. The plasma TPO levels in aplastic anemia(AA) and myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS) patients were all elevated compared to those in normal controls. The serum TPO levels in patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) and liver cirrhosis had no difference with the normals. Bone marrow megakaryocytes(MK) count in after chemotherapy AL and AA patients were lower than those with normal serum TPO levels controls. (2)In all above patients used interleukin-11(rhIL-11), their TPO levels were close to normal in efficiency patients. On the contrary, their TPO did not change dramatic. Those react to rhIL-11, their TPO levels were inversely correlated with platelet count. Conclusion:Testing serum TPO levels would be helpful for distinguish the thrombocytopenia with different causes, and provides theorical support to patients to use rhIL-11 reasonably.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture (EA) plus Tanbo-plucking the trigger points for scapulohumeral periarthritis (SP). Methods:A total of 80 patients with SP were randomized into an observation group and an EA group by the random number table, with 40 cases in each group. The EA group was treated with EA therapy, and the observation group was treated with EA therapy plus Tanbo-plucking the trigger points. After treatment, the visual analog scale (VAS) and Melle scores of the two groups were compared to evaluate the improvement of shoulder pain and functional activity, and meanwhile the clinical efficacy was observed. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was 95.0% and the cure and markedly effective rate was 72.5%. The total effective rate of the EA group was 87.5% and the cure and markedly effective rate was 42.5%. There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups (P>0.05). The cure and markedly effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the EA group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the intra-group differences in VAS and Melle scores of both groups were statistically significant (bothP<0.001). The inter-group differences in the changes of the VAS and Melle scores after treatment were statistically significant (bothP<0.001). Conclusion: EA plus Tanbo-plucking the trigger points has a better curative effect than EA therapy alone in the treatment of SP.

A collection of neurons in the upper lumbar spinal cord (lumbar segments 3 and 4) of male rats project to the lower lumbar spinal cord (lumbar segments 5 and 6) and release a gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) to the somatic and autonomic regions, which are known to regulate male sexual reflexes. The GRP plays some special functions when bound to the specific GRP receptor (GRPR). The spinal GRP system is regulated by androgens. Accumulating evidence shows that GRP plays an important role in rat penile erection and ejaculation, and pharmacological stimulation of GRPRs with a specific agonist can restore penile reflexes and ejaculation in castrated male rats. Therefore, the GRP system appears to be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of erectile dysfunction or ejaculatory dysfunction. The present paper briefly reviews the recent studies on the role of the spinal GRP system in regulating the sexual function of males.

AlM:To explore the primary culture conditions for four kinds of lens epithelial cells ( LECs) of rat, rabbit, dog, and human, and measure their growth characteristics.METHODS:The lens capsule or anterior capsular tissue of rat, rabbit, dog and patient were removed by different methods, and they were cut into tiny pieces for primary culture by modified tissue adherent method. The morphological features of four kinds of LECs were observed under an inverted microscope.RESULTS: Four kinds of LECs of rat, rabbit, dog and human could be cultured primarily by tissue adherent method. With the evolution of tissue source, the adherent capacity of LECs gradually strengthened, cells form were changed from irregular polygon to oval, nucleus rounded and cytoplasm enriched gradually. Four kinds of LECs had fibrotic changes after several passages.CONCLUSlON: LECs of rat, rabbit, dog and human can be primarily cultured. This method lays the foundation for the mechanism research of caratact and related fields on the cellular and molecular levels.

Abstract: The loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technique is a technique for the specific and efficient amplification of target fragments at a constant temperature using two pairs of specially designed primers and a strand displacement activity DNA polymerase. LAMP technique is a simple, rapid, specific, sensitive and cost-effective nucleic acid amplification method, and therefore has a promising future in the field rapid detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and grassroots applications. In this review, the basic principles and characteristics of the LAMP technique, the main molecular markers for the diagnosis of tuberculosis, and the use of different molecular markers and various types of novel techniques in the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis, extrapulmonary tuberculosis, and drug-resistant tuberculosis were described. The LAMP technique has been widely used in the diagnosis of tuberculosis with high sensitivity and specificity, but the technique still has some shortcomings. This paper reviews the progress of its application in tuberculosis in recent years and provides an outlook on its development, with a view to providing a rational research direction for rapid diagnosis of tuberculosis in a resource-limited environment.

Objective To observe the efficacy of long-term treatment with Teriparatide on osteoporotic intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly. Methods T he elderly patients w ith osteoporotic intertrochanteric fracture meeting inclusion and exclusion criteria were recruited. They received proximal femoral nail anti-rotation(PFNA)surgery with the combined intakes of calcium of 600 mg/day and 1-alpha ,25-(OH)2-vitamin D3 analogs of 0.5 μg/day as a basic standard treatment protocol(BSTP).The study subjects included control group(n= 10)who underwent PFNA surgery plus oral calcium and vitamin D supplements without teriparatide (20 μg/d) ,and the observation group who received PFNA surgery plus oral calcium and vitamin D supplements with teriparatide (20 μg/d) , for more than twelve months or over at our department from October 2012 to February 2016. Gender ,age ,socio-demographics and clinical values of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA )score ,fracture types ,preoperative serum albumin level ,preoperative BM I ,bone mineral density 1 week postoperatively ,serum N-terminal propeptide of type I collagen (PINP) and C-terminal telopeptides of type 1 collagen(β-CTX)1 week postoperatively were matched between the two groups , no statistically significant difference was found(all P>0.05).Levels of PINP and β-CTX 3 ,6 and 12 months postoperatively ,BMD 1 year postoperatively ,fracture healing time and complications were compared between the two groups. The prognosis of 1 case of patient undergoing conservative treatment was observed. Results There was no significant difference between the two groups in serum levels of PINP and β-CTX 1 week postoperatively(P=0.362 and 0.517 ,respectively).Serum level of PINP was significantly increased in observation group at 3 ,6 and 12 months postoperatively versus at 1 week postoperatively(P= 0.008 ,0.001 and 0.004 ,respectively) ,while serum level of PINP had no significant difference in control group at 3 ,6 and 12 months postoperatively versus at 1week postoperatively(P> 0.05).Serum levels of PINP 3 ,6 and 12 months postoperatively were higher in the observation group than in control ( P= 0. 002 ,0. 002 and 0. 000 ,respectively ). In the observation group ,serum β-CTX level reached the peak at 6 months after surgery ,which was higher than that at 1 week after surgery(P=0.041) ,and slowly decreased at 12 months after surgery. In the control group ,β-CTX slowly increased at 3 ,6 and 12 months postoperatively versus at 1 week postoperatively ( P > 0.05 ). There was no significant difference in BMD of lumbar spine and contralateralhipbetweenthetwogroupsat1weekpostoperatively(P=0.440and0.325).At1year postoperatively versus at 1 week postoperatively ,the BMD of lumbar spine and contralateral hip was increased(P=0.039 and 0.009)in the observation group ,while was decreased(P> 0.05)in control group. The fracture healing time was shorter in observation group than in control group (13.6 ± 2.2 weeks vs.17.6 ± 3.4 weeks ,P=0.033).No one had a delayed fracture healing in observation group and 1 patient showed a delayed fracture healing in the control group. There were no complications such as lag screw sliding ,refracture ,pressure ulcer and deep vein thrombosis in both groups. The fracture nonunion was found in the patient undergoing conservative treatment after 20 months of teriparatide treatment. Conclusions The medium-and long-term of teriparatide treatment can significantly promote bone formation ,improve BMD of the lumbar spine and hip ,and shorten fracture healing time in patients with osteoporotic intertrochanteric fracture ,but it is not a substitute for surgical treatment.
