Objective To study the effect of different prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) combined with tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?) to the IP3-Ca2+ pathway mediated by membrane TNF-?R of fibroblasts. Methods The lung fibroblasts of breed mouse were primarily cultured. 10 ?g/L TNF-? and 10 ?g/L TNF-? combined with PGE2 of different doses were added to culture medium of fibroblasts. At some observation time,the expression of TNF-?R on the cellular membrane of fibroblasts was detected by the method of immunohistochemistry,the level of IP3 in cells was detected by the method of radioimmunoassay and the contents of Ca2+ in fibroblasts by the method of flow cytometry. Results With doses of PGE2 increasing at 30 s time point and 60 s time point,the cpm value of IP3 of fibroblast decreased gradually. The cpm value of IP3 significantly increased when the dose of PGE2 was 1.0 ?g/L,but obviously lower when the dose of PGE2 was 2.0 ?g/L at 120 s time point. The expression of TNF-?R and the contents of Ca2+ decreased in a dose-dependent way with the dose of PGE2 increasing. Conclusion Certain dose of PGE2 could suppress the effect that TNF-? enhance the cell proliferation of fibroblast by the IP3-Ca2+ pathway mediated by membrane TNF-?R of fibroblasts.

Objective To investigate the longitudinal residue strain and stress-strain relation of normal human vascular system of the extremities and the relation between the different defect length and the option of repair, as well as a comparison of the different selection of the methods of repair judged from the longitudinal biomechanical effect. Methods A mechanical analysis including stretch experiment and longitudinal stretch ratio measurement were undertaken to evaluated the longitudinal residue strain and stress-strain relation of arteries and veins of the extremities in human. The results of different methods for repair of the defect of the same kind of vessels were compared with Student-t test. The length precinct to repair arterial injuries between end-to-end anastomoses and vein graft through 95％ distribution region was evaluated. Results The longitudinal stretch ratio of arterial system of the extremities decreased from the proximal to the distal ends of the vascular branches and the stress-strain relation curve of artery turned gradually to the right side, while that of veinous system exhibited a contrary picture. Objective To investigate the effect of mifepristone on the activity of proliferation and the apoptosis, the expression of estrogen receptor (ER),progesterone receptor (PR) protein and morphology changes of human ovarian carcinoma cell line 3AO and SKOV3 in vitro. Methods The proliferative activity of 3AO and SKOV3, which were cultured in vitro, was measured by tetrazolium-based colorimetric assay (MTT assay). Flow cytormetry (FCM) was used to measure the expressive rate of ER, PR , p53 protein, bcl-2 protein, cell apoptotic rate and cell proliferative cycle of 3AO cells, which were cultured with different concentration and duration of mifepristone. The morphologic and ultrastructure changes of apoptotic 3AO cells was observed by the light and electron microscopy. Results Mifepristone inhibited significantly the proliferation of 3AO cells in dose-time dependent manner in vitro. Engineering hone typically uses an artificial extracellular matrix (scaffold),osteoblasts or progenitors,and os- teoinductive factors which promote cell attachment,differentiation,and mineralized bone formation.Highly porous scaffolds play a critical role in cell seeding,proliferation,and new 3D-tissue formation.A variety of biodegradable polymer materials and scaffolding fabrication techniques for engineering bone have been developed over the past decade.This article reviews the scaffold design and fabrication methods tor engineering bone to analyze their ad- vantages and limitations.Various architectural parameters of scaffolds important for bone tissue engineering (e.g. porosity,pore size,interconnectivity) are discussed.

Objective To investigate the mRNA expression of survivin, livin and XIAP gene in peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer and its relationship with clinico-pathological features.Methods This study included 50 patients with gastric cancer and 20 healthy donors. The expression of survivin, livin and XIAP gene was detected by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-QPCR) using a molecular beacon probe, while recombination plasmid containing the sequence of survivin, livin and XIAP was standard. The relationship between copies of survivin, livin and XIAP gene expression in peripheral blood with gastric cancer and clinical data was analyzed. Results A linear standard curve was obtained between 103 ～ 1010 copies. The copies of survivin, livin and XIAP mRNA in peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer did not correlate with gender, age, and histological types ( P ＞ 0.05). There were positive relationships between copies of survivin, livin and XIAP gene with lymph node metastasis and TNM stage (P ＜0.05 ). The expression of survivine, livin and XIAP was all negative in peripheral blood of healthy people. 52% (17/33) of patients suffered from recurrence or metastasis who had positive expression of survivin and/or livin and/or XIAP mRNA, while it was 18% (3/17)among the negative survivin and/or livin and/or XIAP mRNA caces ( P ＜ 0.05). Conclusions The expression of survivin, livin and XIAP mRNA can be used to detecte micro-metastasis in peripheral blood circulation of gastric cancer.

Objective To evaluate the application value of percutaneous transsplenic varices embolization(PTSVE)in the treatment of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage in patients with schistosomiasis cirrhosis. Methods Sixteen schistosomiasis cir-rhosis patients(12 males and 4 females)with portal hypertension complicated with esophageal and upper gastrointestinal hemor-rhage were selected as the investigation subjects,all the patients had been treated by esophageal vein ligation and sclerothera-py,but with bleeding again post-operation. The patients were treated by PTSVE under the guidance of X-ray fluoroscopy. The success rate of PTSVE and the rate of complications were observed. In addition,the patients received PTSVE were reexamined with abdominal CT one month post-operation,and the degrees of varices were compared before and after PTSVE. Results Four-teen cases(87.50%)were successfully treated with PTSVE. Two cases(12.50%)failed,and one case had an abdominal bleed-ing 1 week post-operation. The abdominal CT showed the degrees of esophageal varices(P < 0.001),esophageal vein(P <0.001)and gastric varices(P < 0.001)were significantly decreased in the patients who received PTSVE one month after the op-eration. Conclusions PTSVE is a safe and effective method in the treatment of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage in the pa-tients with schistosomiasis cirrhosis. PTSVE is especially suitable for the patients with severe liver cirrhosis,significantly bor-dered liver split,and bared main portal vein and even the branches.

The 3D gait analysis system (Vicon) was used for the gait analysis of health persons and amputees who wear lower limb prosthesis. The result indicated that gait analysis can supply changes of kinematics and biomechanics; which can be used to analyze the difference of joint movement between the health persons and amputees. The 3D gait analysis is feasible for amputees in rehabilitation.

Objective To analyze changes of three periodical circulation systems,erythrocyte sedimentation rate and bone marrow cell morphology in children with malaria.Methods The routine tests of hematology by Sysmex KX-21 Counter, erythrocyte sedimentation rate by Westergren method and bone marrow cell morphology were analyzed. Results In 22 cases of malaria the ratio of Hb level below 110 g/L,WBC below 4?10~9/L and PLT below 100?10~9/L was 68.2%, 41.0%, and 77.3%,respectively. The ratio of children with all three parameters (Hb, WBC and PLT) abnormal was 36.4%, with two parameters abnormal was 63.6%. Ninty-five point five percent of malaria children′s erythrocyte sedimentation rate was abnormal. Fifty-nine point one percent of malaria children had hyperplasia anemia bone marrow morphology, 77.3% secondary thrombocytopenia and 54.5% with both of two bone marrow morphology.Conclusions Three periodical circulation systems of malaria children alter notably, especially in PLT and Hb. The majority has erythrocyte sedimentation rate abnormal, and bone marrow cell morphology shows hyperplasia anemia and thrombocytopenia.

Objective To investigate the correlation between large platelet ratio (P-LCR) and stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods 152 consecutive patients with atrial fibrillation were selected and divided into two groups according to whether accompanying stoke or not. Clinical features of patients and blood test indicator P-LCR were analyzed by Logistic regression analysis. Results In total, 152 subjects, including 47 patients with stoke and 105 patients without stoke,were included in the study. Univariate analysis showed that the difference in age, diabetes, hypertension, lipid-lowering therapy and P-LCR between two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that age, diabetes and P-LCR were independent risk factors of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. Conclusions Age, diabetes and P-LCR are independent risk factors of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation.
