The effects of magnolol (Mag) on hyperglycemia and hyperlipemia, hepatic oxidative stress and cytochrome P4502E1 (CYP2E1) activity of diabetic rats induced by high-fat diet (HFD) and streptozotocin (STZ) were studied. After oral administration of Mag (25, 50 and 100 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1)) for continuous 10 weeks, the blood glucose and lipids (TC, TG and LDL-C) levels, as well as the hepatic CYP2E1 activity and MDA content of diabetic rats, decreased significantly (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), whereas the oral glucose tolerance and hepatic antioxidant enzymatic activities (CAT and GSH-Px) of diabetic rats, increased significantly (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). The results indicated that Mag was effective against the hepatic oxidative damage, hyperglycemia and hyperlipemia of diabetic rats induced by HFD and STZ, and the inhibition of Mag on hepatic CYP2E1 activity could be an important mechanism of Mag against hepatic insulin resistance and oxidative damage.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1995;0(04):-
Objective: To investigate the correlation between the presence of a crown (CR) or a proximal restoration (PR) and furcation involvement (FI) on molars. Methods: Data were collected from 237 teeth in 44 patients who had restored and non-restored molars with or without FI.The clinical examinations were conducted on the molars including CR,PR,FI, mobility(MO), endodontic treatment(EN) and probe of periodontal attachment level(PAL). Results: Molars with CR or PR had a significantly highter percentage of FI (P0.05) when compared to molars without restorations. Conclusion: The molars with crowns or restorations involving the proximal tooth surfaces have a highter prevalence of FI and more periodontal attachment lose than molars without restorations.

Objective To investigate the related factors of clinical incidence and the ultrasound diagnostic value of endometrial polyps (EMP).Methods A total of 278 patients with clinical abnormal vaginal bleeding, menorrhagia, infertility, cervical polyps or physical examination showing EMP received vaginal ultrasound and hysteroscopy. The related clinical factors were recorded and single factors and multivariate unconditional Logistic regression analysis were carried. Results The univariate analysis showed that the number of pregnancy, menopause, placing intrauterine device, oral comtraceptives, history of hormone therapy, chronic endometritis, cervical polyp, merger endometriosis and obesity were the statistically significant factors of EMP incidence (P < 0.05 or < 0.01),which were used as dependent variables for multivariate Logistic regression analysis, indicating that menopause, chronic endometritis, history of hormone therapy and cervical polyp significantly affecting EMP incidence (P < 0.05),with OR values of 4.068,4.122,3.770 and 3.983 respectively. Conclusion Menopause, chronic endometritis, history of hormone therapy, cervical polyps are the related risk factors of EMP.

Objective:To study the clinical efficacy of vitrectomy combined with cataract surgery enin the treatmt of proliferative diabetic retinopathy.Methods:90 patients of proliferative diabetic retinopathy who were treated from January 2013 to June 2016 in our hospital were selected.According to random number table, those patients were divided into the observation group (n=45) and the control group (n=45).The control group was treated with vitrectomy+lentectomy, while the observation group was treated with vitrectomy+ phacoemulsification. Then the best corrected visual acuity, tear interleukin (IL)-2,fluorescein (FL),breakup time of tear film (BUT) and Schirmer test(SIt) and incidence of complications were compared. Results:After operation, the best corrected visual acuity of observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05);the tear IL-2 level in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05);the FL in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, the BUT and SIt were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05);the incidence rate of capsular opacity, iris neovascularization, corneal edema, xerophthalmia in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P <0.05).Conclusion:Vitrectomy combined with phacoemulsification was effective for proliferative diabetic retinopathy, which could promote the recovery of visual acuity after surgery, improvement of tear secretio and decrease the complications.
