Background The malignant degree of the diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is high.Radiation therapy is sensitive,but the therapeutic schedule can not be unified,reasonable and effective therapeutic schedule is important in clinic treatment of the DLBCL.Objective This study was to access the effect of X-ray on the cell cycle and cell apoptosis of the DLBCL.Methods DLBCL cell line was cultured and the cell suspension was inoculated to 12-well cultured plate.The cells exposed to X-ray for 6,12,24,48 hours with the irradiation doses of 2,4,6,8 Gy respectively.The cell proportions of different cycles were assayed by flow cytometer,and cell apoptosis index was evaluated and calculated.Non-irradiation cells served as controls.Results The cells grew well with a good cell vitality and round-like shape,and the growth was stable in generation 2 or 3.With the increase of X-ray doses and the lapse of irradiation time,the cell proportions in G0-G1 phase gradually reduced (Fdose =45.58,P=0.00; Ftime =43.11,P=0.00).However,cell proportions in G2-M phase were gradually increased as the increase of X-ray doses and lapse of irradiation time (Fdose =40.77,P =0.00 ; Ftime =91.91,P =0.00).In addition,the apoptotic proportion of the cells was significantly elevated with the increase of X-ray dose and irradiation time (Fdose =87.36,P =0.00; Ftime =37.31,P =0.00).Conclusions X-ray irradiation retards DLBCL in the G2-M phase and causes cell apoptosis in dose-and time-dependent manner.

Objective To report the MRI findings of brain damage obsenrved in neonatal patients who suffered from isolated hypoglycemia and to explore the value of diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI) inearly detection of neonatal hypoglycemic brain iniun,. Methods Twelve neonates with isolated hypoglycemia(10 of the 12 were diagnosed to suffer from hypoglycemic encephalopathy)were enrolled in this study.They were first scanned at age from 3 days to 10 days with Tl WI,T,WI and DWI(b is 0 s/mm2,1000 s/mm2),and 4 of them were then scanned from 7 days to 10 days following the initial scan.All acquired MR images were retrospectively analysed.Results First series of DWl images showed distinct hyperintense signal in 11 cases in several areas including bi lateral occipital cortex(2 cases),right occipital cortex(1 case),left occipital cortex and subcortical white matter(1 case),biIateral occipital cortex and flubcortical white matter(2 cases),bilateral parieto-occipital cortex(2 cases),bilateral parieto-occipital cortex and subcortical white matter(2 cases),the splenium of corpus catlosum(4 cases),bilateral corona radiata(2 cases),left eaudate nucleus and globus pallidus(1 case),bilateral thalamus(1 case),bilaterally posterior limb of internal capsule(1 ease).In the initial T1 WI and T2,WI images,there were subtle hypointensity in the damaged cortical areas(3 cases),hyperintensity in the bilaterally affected occipital cortex(1 case)on T1 weighted images,and hyperintensity in the affected cortex and subcortieal white matter with poor differentiation on T2 weighted images.The followed-up MRI of 4 cases showed regional encephalomalaeia in the affected occipital lobes(4 cases),slightly hyperintensity on T2 weighted images in the damaged occipital cortex(2 cases),extensive demyelination(1 case).disappearance of hyperintensity of the splenium of corpus callosum(1 case),and persistent hyperintensity in the splenium of corpus callosum (1 case)on T2 weighted images.Conclusion The findings suggest that posterior parieto-occipital regions are most frequently injured in neonatal period due to severe hypoglycemia.DWI is a useful technique in the early detection and evaluation of hypoglycemic brain injury of neonates.

Objective To investigate the dynamic expression of nitric oxide synthase(NOS) in the apoptosis of primary cultured rat cortical neruons following hypoxia/reoxygenation(H/R) and the protective role of extract of ginkgo biloba(EGB). Methods The cortical neurons of E16-17 days fetal rat were primarily cultured.The apoptosis model of primary cultured cortical nurons following H/R was established by using W-G staning,electromicroscopy,TUNEL staining.The dynamic expression of NOS different H/R times was investigated with NADPH-diaphorase histochemical method. Results H/R can cause apoptosis of primary cultured rat cortical neurons.In the experiment of H-2R-0,H-4R-0, H-6R-0,H-8R-0 and H-2R 18,H-4R 18,H-6R 18 H-8R 18,the apoptosis cells occurred after 4 hour hypoxia.The increasing of apoptosis cell acted as time-dependence and the peak value was at H-8R 18.The expression of NOS increased both after 2 hour hypoxia and reoxygenation 18 hour after 8 hour hypoxia compared with the normal control group.EGB could inhibit the increasing and decrease the percentage of apoptosis.Conclusion The apoptosis of primary cultured rat cortical neurons could be induced by H/R.The increasing of NO might be one of the mechannisms of apoptosis.EGB could singnificantly inhibit the apoptosis by means of inhibiting the expression of NOS and reducing the production of NO.;
