Afloqualone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant and has been used in therapy for musculotensive diseases. A 35-year-old female had been taking afloqulaone for a left hemifacial spasm for one month. The patient visited our hospital with erythematous papules and patches on the sun exposed area. A photopatch test with afloqualone ointment with the concentration of 0.1%, 1%, 5% turned out negative. An oral provocation test was also done and it showed a positive result with a decrease of MED to UVA (10 J/cm²).

Great strides have been made not only in the research of the endogenous electrical signals,but also in the clinical application on nonunions using exogenous electrical signals. We measured human skin steady state potentials on the anteromedial surface of the twenty-eight left proximal tibiae and investigated intraosseous induced potentials created by a capacitively coupled signal applied on the proximal tibia of ten rabbits' right hind limbs. Following results were observed: 1. Human skin epiphysio-metaphyseal and epiphysio-diaphyseal potential differences in resting state were 116.1±11.7µV, and 120.5±29.4µV, respectively(P> 0.05), while those in full weight bearing were 310.3±169.4µV, and 404.2±154.1µV, respectively (P<0.05). 2. Skin steady state potentials were affected by muscle contraction and load bearing. 3. Thraugh a sequence of applied voltage of 2, 5, 10, 20, and 30 volts peak to peak, linear increase in the intraosseous induced potentials were produced. 4. Intraosseous induced potentials increased, although their increasing rates being decelerated, with increasing frequencies of 2, 20, 60, 120, and 200 KHz. 5. Higher intraosseous induced potentials were produced,as conductive jelly was applied between the capacitor plates and skin.

A 19-month old male patient developed mutiple, firm, plum-colored, finger tip to chestnut sized nodules on the left cheek, right preauricular area, both elbow joints, and right wrist. On physical examination, a right cervical lymph node was palpable. Histology from one of the nodules revealed a diffuse infiltration of atypical, hyperchromatic, polymorphous lymphocytes in the dermis and subrutaneous fat. Bone marow aspiration, chest X-ray, ultrasonogram, and computerized tomogram were performed revealing bone marrow and lymph node involvement. The patient was treated with a POG @8617 schedule. Skin lesions markedly improved after one cycle regimen. We present a case of diffuse, ponrly differentiated, malignant lymphocytic lymphoma in the early childhood.

Transforming growth factor beta(TGF-p), initially identified in vlatelet extracts by virtue of its ability to confer anchorage of independent growth and a necplastic phenotype on mesenchymal cells, has subsequently been identified as a potent inh bit or of proliferation in most cells of epithelial origin. The family of TGF-p peptides is currenly onsisted of four subtypes (TGF-pl, p2, p3, p4). TGF-ps promote deposition of extracellular matrix compcineits, facilitate remodeling events during embryonic development, and suppress immune ce 1 fimetion during the inflammatory process. Several nutaneous diseases are characterized typxcessive and progressive fibrosis of the dermis anil subcutaneous tissues. Prominent amon these disorders are progressive systemic sclerosi(PSS) and generalized morphea(GM), is well as the recently described syndrome of diffuse fasciitis eosinophilia(DF), also known; Shulmans syndrome. The hallmark of the pathologic alteration in these disorders is the excessive deposition of collagen and other connenctive iissues. Macromoleculse in the aerriis and/or the subcutaneous and fascial strutures often accompanied by variable degress of hronic inflammatory cell infiltrates. Now we have examined the expression of TGF-b1 mRNA using of northern blot hybridization with specific sequenced cDNA probe in the normal curltured fibroblasts, placental tissues, and fibrosarcorna derived tumor cell line(HT1080). We found that the size of TGF-b mRNA of each specimen was 2.5kb and theres no alteration of its quality.

Fibrohistiocytic tumors are a diverse group of benign and malignant soft tissue lesions, including dermatofibroma, dermatofibrosarcomaprotuberans, and malignant fibrous histiocytoma. On the clinical point of view, the distinction between benign and malignant lesions and malignancy grading is far more important. Therefore, we investigated 23 fibrohistiocytic tumors, using PCNA (PC10) which was a useful marker of proliferating activity, to differentiate the benign lesions from the malignant and correlate with other prognostic factors including tumor necrosis. cellularity, histologic grade, and mitotic counts. The results obtained were as follows 1) Positive tumor cells were clearly identified by the characteristic diffuse or granular nuclear staining. 2) The number of PCNA-positive tumor cells were 2.16+/-2.39% in dermatofibroma, 16.12+/-7.38% in dermatofibrosacoma protuberans, and 28.02+/-17.47% in the malignant fibrous histiocytoma. The numbers of PCNA-positive tumor cells in the malignant lesions higher than in the benign (p<0.001). 3) Deep seated, large size (>5 cm) and recurred or metastatic cases of MFH were more the high PCNA index (more than 20%) than the low index (less than 20%) groups. 4) PCNA index in MFHs had positive correlation with the number of mitotic counts (r=0.7582, p<0.001), cellularity (r=0.5908, p<0.05) and histologic grade (r=0.4164, p<0.05). These results suggested that reactivity on PCNA might assist in the distinction between benign and malignant lesions in fibrohistiocytic tumors, and could be a useful prognostic factor in the patients with malignant fibrous histiocytoma.
