2.Angiocentric T cell Lymphoma associated with Epstein-Barr Virus.
Annals of Dermatology 1999;11(4):292-296
Angiocentric T-cell lymphomas have been described as a distinctive clinicopathologic entity in the spectrum of peripheral T-cell lymphomas, with a prominent invasion of blood vessels by lymphomatous cells. In these conditions, the presence of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) genomes has been demonstrated, suggesting that EBV might play a major role in their cause. Herein, we report a case of cutaneous angiocentric T cell lymphoma associated with the EBV. The patient was diagnosed with nasal angiocentric T cell lymphoma 5 months ago, and treated with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisolone (CHOP) combination chemotherapy. After three cycles of CHOP, skin lesions developed. A skin biopsy specimen showed an angiocentric and angioinvasive infiltrate containing some atypical lymphocytes. EBV encoded RNA (EBER) was demonstrated in lesional skin by in situ hybridization.

3.The Relationship among Powerlessness, Social Support and Life Satisfaction in the Elderly People.
Journal of Korean Academy of Community Health Nursing 2006;17(1):65-73
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify the correlation between the feeling of powerlessness, social support and life satisfaction in the elderly. METHODS: The subjects were 158 old people aged over 65 who were attending one of one college and three settlement houses for senior citizens located in B city. RESULTS: The relationship between the feeling of powerlessness and life satisfaction was in a moderate negative correlation with each other (r=-.433, p=.000). The relationship between social support and life satisfaction was in a moderate positive correlation with each other (r=.410, p=.000). It was found that the higher social support was, the higher life satisfaction was. There was remarkable difference in the form of family (F=2.69, p=.023), the form of residence (F=5.29, p=.002), whether to belong to a group (F=2.26, p=.025). CONCLUSION: For the reasons stated above, as the feeling of powerlessness is lower and social support is higher, life satisfaction is higher. The results clearly show that in order to improve life satisfaction of the elderly, we need to ease their feeling of powerlessness and enhance social support to them. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a nursing intervention program to reduce powerlessness and to improve social support for the elderly.

6.A Case of Phototoxic Dermatitis due to Afloqualone.
Annals of Dermatology 1999;11(4):244-247
Afloqualone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant and has been used in therapy for musculotensive diseases. A 35-year-old female had been taking afloqulaone for a left hemifacial spasm for one month. The patient visited our hospital with erythematous papules and patches on the sun exposed area. A photopatch test with afloqualone ointment with the concentration of 0.1%, 1%, 5% turned out negative. An oral provocation test was also done and it showed a positive result with a decrease of MED to UVA (10 J/cm²).

7.Furlow's double reversing z-palatoplasty using intraoperative rapid mucosal expansion.
Journal of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons 1998;25(6):1026-1032
Major concerns in cleft palate repair are improved speech results and adequate maxillary growth. In these respects, Furlow's double reversing Z-plasty which requires minimal hard palatal dissection and redirects palatal muscles to produce an overlapping muscle sling is theoretically optimal method to close the cleft palate. However, it often requires backcut around the maxillary tubercle even dissection around the pedicle on oral mucosal Z-plasty flap. Raw surface heals secondarily but leads to scarring within the soft palate. In the current study, IIpatients all had incomplete cleft palate and were operated double reversing Z-palatoplasty using intraoperative rapid mucosal expansion (IRME), from November, 1996 till July, 1997. With the IRME, we reduced the incidence of backcut or dissection on the oral mucosal flap. Only three patients need small backcut incision and two of these were closed primarily with V-Y fashion. To examine the histologic changes and expansion rate with the IRME, same procedures were performed to palatal mucosa of three cats. Expanded mucosal size was increased to 33.3% and histologically, change of mucosal architecture was not found except capillary dilatation. As a result, intraoperative mucosal expansion offers sufficient mucosal size, reduce incidence of backcut, therefore minimizes palatal scar formation. Balanced maxillofacial growth and normal occlusion are expected with this procedure.

9.Meta-Analysis of the Effects of Physical Modality Therapy and Exercise Therapy on Neck and Shoulder Myofascial Pain Syndrome
Osong Public Health and Research Perspectives 2020;11(4):251-258
The main purpose of this study was to identify the effects of physical therapy modalities and exercise therapy on myofascial pain syndrome by assessing the degree of effect size (ES) and related variables. Related studies published between 1st January 2008 and 31st December 2019were retrieved from national [KCI, RISS, National Assembly Library and DBpia ( The degree of ES in the physical therapy and exercise therapy combined group (1.83) showed the largest mean ES. The size of the effect according to the number of people to be treated was 41 or more (1.64), and showed the largest mean ES. The size of the effect according to treatment period was 16 to 30 days (1.41). The size of the effect for 6 to 10 treatments (1.51) showed the largest mean ES. Trim and fill results showed that the calibration ES was 0.67. Physical therapy modalities and exercise therapy had a great effect on myofascial pain syndrome in the neck and shoulders, and the effect differed according to the methods of intervention, and the methods of evaluation.
10.The Changes in Axial and Radial Diffusivity in a Patient with Clinically Mild Encephalitis/Encephalopathy with a Reversible Splenial Lesion
Investigative Magnetic Resonance Imaging 2020;24(3):174-177
Multiple studies have established that mild encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion (MERS) exhibits reversible diffusion restriction in the white matter, including the splenium. There have been a few previous reports of the change in fractional anisotropy (FA) of MERS cases. Herein, we report the longitudinal changes in axial and radial diffusivity (AD and RD), and FA in a 15-year-old boy patient with MERS. Our case demonstrated that a MERS lesion had a significant drop of AD in the early period and gradual recovery. On the contrary, RD did not show any significant change.
