Trichilemmal horn(trichilemmal keratosis) is a rare keratinizing tumor that resembles a cutaneous horn. Histologically, it is characterized by an abrupt maturation of keratinocytes into lamellar keratin without the formation of a granular layer. We describe a case of a trichilemmal horn on the right cheek of a 78-year-old woman.

Korean Journal of Gynecologic Oncology and Colposcopy 1994;5(3):54-58
Pure ovarian choriocarcinoma of germ cell origin is exceedingly rare neoplasm, and even the presence of choriocarcinomatous elements admixed with other neoplastic germ cell elements is rare. In the most cases, the tumor is admixed with other neoplastic germ cell elemeats, and their presence is diagnostic of noagsatational choriocarcinoma, except for the remote of the tumor being a geatational choriocarcinoma metasttic to an ovarian germ cell tumor. We have experienced a case of nongestational ovarian choriocarcinoma in 10 year dld woman. So we report this case with a brief review of its literatures.

Asian Oncology Nursing 2012;12(3):237-245
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify attributes of the concept of cancer survivorship. METHODS: Walker & Avant's concept analysis framework (2005) was used to review the medical & nursing text books, medical and nursing research articles related to cancer survivorship and published from 1985 to 2011. RESULTS: There were nine aspects of the concept of cancer survivorship: A process, liminality, uncertainty, life-changing experience, complexity, unique experience, duality of positive and negative aspects, partnership, and need for support. Antecedents of cancer survivorship were cancer diagnosis and perception as a cancer survivor. Empirical referents of cancer survivorship were survival rate, quality of life, adaptation to the survivorship experience, and health-related hardiness, social support, spirituality, and health behavior. The consequences of cancer survivorship were effects on the physical, psychosocial, spiritual and socio-economic well-being of the patients. CONCLUSION: This concept analysis of cancer survivorship is expected to contribute to promotion of survivorship care in the clinical field by removing conceptual ambiguity and confirming the true meaning of survivorship care.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2004;47(5):863-869
OBJECTIVE: Amniocentesis is the most commonly used invasive method for prenatal diagnosis of genetic disorders. We performed this study to analyze the indications, distributions of maternal age and cytogenetic results of midtrimester amniocentesis. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed 785 cases of midtrimester prenatal genetic amniocentesis which were performed in the cytogenetics laboratory using in situ coverslip culture at Dong-A University Hospital from January 1995 to March 2003. RESULTS: Amniocentesis was practiced mostly from 15 weeks to 20 weeks of gestational ages. Requested indications of amniocentesis were abnormal maternal serum screening (421, 53.7%), advanced maternal age (233, 29.7%) and abnormal ultrasonographic finding (61, 7.8%) in the order of decrease. The overall incidence of chromosome abnormalities was 5.1% (40 cases), and it contains 27 cases (3.4%) of numerical abnormalities and 13 cases (1.7%) of structural abnormalities. Among autosomal abnormalities Down syndrome was most common (13 cases) and followed by Edward syndrome (2 cases). Of the sex chromosomal abnormalities, three cases of Turner syndrome and three cases of Kleinefelter syndrome were found. Chromosomal abnormalities were most frequently noted in the maternal age of 30 to 34 years old (14 cases, 35.0%), 25 to 29 years old (12 cases, 30.0%), followed by 35 to 39 years old (7 cases, 17.5%). The frequency of pseudomosaicism were 5 cases (0.6%). CONCLUSION: Maternal serum screening, advanced maternal age and antenatal ultrasonographic finding must be important screening methods for amniocentesis which is considered to the most effective diagnostic procecdure for prenatal cytogenetic studies. I conclude that the karyotyping analysis of midtrimester amniocentesis is efficacious method for detection of chromosomal aberration and genetic counselling for parents.

Korean Journal of Fertility and Sterility 2004;31(1):75-81
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and effect of various cryopreservation method on the survival and the cytoskeletal stability of metaphase II mouse oocyte. METHODS: Mouse ovulated oocytes were collected and cryopreserved by a modified slow-freezing method with 1.5 M 1,2-propanediol (PrOH)+0.1 M sucrose or by vitrification using cryo loop and EM grid with 40% ethylene glycol+0.6 M sucrose. Four hours after thawing, intact oocytes were fixed and stained with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-conjugated monoclonal anti-beta-tubulin antibody to visualize spindle and propidium iodide (PI) to visualize chromosome. Spindle morphology was classified as follows: normal (barrel-shaped), slightly and absolute abnormal (multipolar or absent). RESULTS: Survival rate of the frozen-thawed oocytes in vitrification group was significantly higher than that of slow-freezing group (62.7% vs. 24.4%, p<0.01). Vitrification with cryo loop showed significantly higher survival rate than that with EM grid (67.7% vs. 53.5%, p<0.05). On the other hand, proportion of normal spindle and chromosome configurations of the frozen-thawed oocytes between two vitrification group was not significantly different. CONCLUSION: For mouse ovulated oocytes, vitrification with cryo loop may be a preferable procedure compared to slow-freezing method. Further study should be needed to investigate developmental competency of frozen-thawed mouse oocytes.

Korean Journal of Gynecologic Oncology and Colposcopy 1996;7(4):291-297
Between June 1990 and May 1994, 350 laser conization and 200 LEEP were performed. Indications of conization were that directed biopsy specimen was proved CIN II, III or suggests possible microinvasion. In all the cases the procedures were carried out with the patients under local anesthesia. Excisional cone sections(6,600) were evaluated for lesion length, depth and margin status. Invasive cancer was found in 5(1.4%) women of laser group. Operative time was shorter LEEP group than laser group significantly. In laser group, 25(8.3%) women had bleeding that required treatment. One case(0.3%) of pelvic infection and 7 cases(2.3%) of cervical stenosis were observed. In LEEP group, 10(5.3%) women had bleeding, 3(1.6%) patients became cervical stenosis. The diameter of bumed tissue was 0.28mm in laser group and 0.25mm in LEEP group. Success rate were 97.4% in former and 96.3% in later. This study demontrated that CO2 laser conization and LEEP were effective methods for treating high grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and added benefit of preserving reproductive function and rule out invasive carcinoma.

10.Electrical Stimulation for the Treatment of Tinnitus.
Korean Journal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery 2015;58(2):73-78
Tinnitus is a phantom sensation of sound in the absence of external stimulation. Since the mechanism of tinnitus is not clearly discovered, no currently available treatments are ideal. There have been many published studies which report that electrical stimulation has a suppressive effect on tinnitus. Although there is no consensus stimulation method and regimen, electrical stimulation has emerged as an interesting and promising modality for tinnitus relief. In this review, authors collected and analyzed articles on electrical stimulation and outlined various methods of noninvasive and invasive stimulation.
