2.Factors Affecting Abnormal Eating Behaviors among Adults in Obesity Clinic

Purpose:
This study aimed to identify the factors influencing abnormal eating behavior among adults who visit obesity clinics.
Methods:
Questionnaires were used to collect data from 234 adults who visit obesity clinics at K University Hospital. The questions included eating attitude, alexithymia, and depression. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffétest, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis.
Results:
Abnormal eating behaviors were significantly associated with alexithymia, depression, and body mass index. The predictors of abnormal eating behaviors were depression, body mass index, difficulty identifying feelings, perceived economic status, body image perception, and gender, which explained 28% (Adj. R2=.28) of the abnormal eating behaviors.
Conclusion
The findings revealed a need for educational programs that can contribute to desirable eating behaviors and strategies for healthy weight control. In addition, a support program should be availed to help them recognize and properly express their feelings along with prevention and management of depression.
3.Sinonasal Rhabdomyosarcoma Metastasis in Bilateral Multiple Extraocular Muscles:A Case Report and Brief Literature Review

Isolated metastasis in the extraocular muscle (EOM) is uncommon, while metastases in bilateral multiple EOMs is even rarer. Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a rare soft-tissue malignancy that usually occurs in the pediatric population and is one of the primary malignancies of isolated EOM metastasis. Here, we present a case of sinonasal RMS metastasis to multiple bilateral EOMs along with a brief review of 10 previously reported cases of RMS metastasis in EOMs.
5.DNA Profiling via Short Tandem Repeat Analysis by Using Serum Samples.

Serum is free of cellular components. Because DNA is located in the nuclei or mitochondria of cells, serum could be assumed DNA free. Few previously published case reports to date have used serum for DNA typing. Here, we report on human genotyping via short tandem repeat (STR) analysis using serum as a sample, and discuss problems involved in the process.

6.Upper Eyelid Reconstruction Using the Medpor(R) Sheet and Median Forehead Flap.

PURPOSE: To report the upper eyelid reconstruction with median forehead flap and Medpor(R) sheet implant following full-thickness eyelid defect resulting from tumor resection. CASE SUMMARY: A 65-year-old woman was examined at our hospital for a recurrent mass on the right upper eyelid. A wide tumor excision with a 3 mm margin and an eyelid reconstruction procedure were performed after a frozen section biopsy revealed a malignancy. The full-thickness eyelid defect was reconstructed with a median forehead flap as a substitute for skin and muscle and a Medpor(R) sheet substituted for tarsal plate was sutured with a lower conjunctiva flap for posterior lamella. The histopathology diagnosis of the lesion showed a well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. The lower conjunctiva was separated at 2 weeks after surgery, and then the median forehead flap detached from the upper eyelid skin at 8 weeks after surgery. One year postoperatively, there was no evidence of a wound infection and an exposure of the Medpor(R) sheet. The eyelid had a good cosmetic contour and the movement of the eyelid during blinking was natural. CONCLUSIONS: The use of a Medpor(R) sheet as a substitute for a tarsal plate in reconstructive procedures of the upper eyelid defect shows cosmetic and functional success.

7.Qualitative Analysis of Tele-healthcare Systems based on the Diffusion of Innovation Model.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to explore factors which influence adoption, implementation and continued use of tele-healthcare systems. METHODS: Qualitative research was conducted by in-depth interviews with 17 professionals from various fields of organizations involved in developing and implementing tele-healthcare systems. Data were analysed thematically, using a conceptual model of diffusion of innovations. RESULTS: The system users were reacted positively to the 3 attributes out of 9 which decided the adoption of innovation. In addition, it is required to redesign the tele-health care system simpler and easier so that the system users can access to the system much more easily regardless of space and time limitations. From the design stage on an individual level, it is necessary to conduct detailed needs analysis and listen to users who are at the center of innovation diffusion. On an organizational level, it is necessary to actively prepare for possible problems during system implementation, educate the users and build communication channels continuously. CONCLUSION: This study has identified the factors affecting the innovation of tele-health care systems and contributed to the understanding of the operation of tele-health care systems by the diffusion of innovation theory in community health posts.

8.A Case of Optic Disc Hemorrhage Associated with Buried Optic Nerve Head Drusen.

PURPOSE: We report a case of optic disc hemorrhage associated with buried optic nerve head drusen in a pediatric patient. CASE SUMMARY: A 10-year-old female visited our clinic with a floating sensation in her left eye, 2 days in duration. Best corrected visual acuity was 1.0 in both eyes. Intraocular pressure, light reflex, relative afferent pupillary defect and color vision were normal. The patient showed a small optic disc with blurred, irregular margins in both eyes, and optic disc hemorrhage in the left eye on fundus examination. Visual field examination revealed an enlarged blind spot in the left eye. To achieve correct diagnosis, brain MRI was performed and revealed normal findings. On spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT), hyper-reflective and heterogeneous mass like lesions were found with buried optic nerve head drusen. CONCLUSIONS: In general, optic nerve head drusen, has a good prognosis; however, visual field defects or hemorrhagic complications can occur, therefore, correct diagnosis and regular follow-up are necessary.

9.Tectonic Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty in Impending Corneal Perforation Using Cryopreserved Cornea.

We report a case of tectonic corneal transplantation for impending corneal perforation to preserve anatomic integrity using cryopreserved donor tissue. An 82-year-old woman exhibiting impending corneal perforation suffered from moderate ocular pain in the left eye for one week. After abnormal tissues around the impending perforation area were carefully peeled away using a Crescent blade and Vannas scissors, the patient received tectonic deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty using a cryopreserved cornea stored in Optisol GS(R) solution at -70degrees C for four weeks. At six months after surgery, the cornea remained transparent and restored the normal corneal thickness. There were no complications such as corneal haze or scars, graft rejection, recurrent corneal ulcer, and postoperative rise of intraocular pressure. Cryopreserved donor lamellar tissue is an effective substitute in emergency tectonic lamellar keratoplasty, such as impending corneal perforation and severe necrotic corneal keratitis.

10.Outer Retinal Layers Alterations in Chronic Central Serous Chorioretinopathy: Spectral Domain-OCT and Fundus Autofluorescence Findings.

PURPOSE: To document alteration of the outer retinal layers and fundus autofluorescence (FAF) change in eyes with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR). METHODS: Seventeen eyes of fifteen patients diagnosed with chronic CSCR from January 2014 to March 2015 with at least 6 months of follow-up and no history of surgery were enrolled in this study. Morphologic alterations in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), the photoreceptor inner segment/outer segment (IS/OS) junction layer, and the outer retina were evaluated by Spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). The FAF images were obtained via Heidelberg Retina Angiogram using a view mode of 30° and were described using distribution patterns of retinal autofluorescence compared to background autofluorescence. After tomographic alignment of the FAF intensities with the OCT findings, we analyzed and assessed the alteration of the outer retinal layers and the characteristics of retinal autofluorescence. RESULTS: RPE detachment lesions in SD-OCT showed little or no change in autofluorescence pattern. Five of seven eyes with RPE humps in SD-OCT showed hyper-fluorescence in FAF. All of the eyes with defects or changes of the reflective line representing the IS/OS junction in SD-OCT correlated with hyper-fluorescence in FAF. Seven of nine eyes with persistent subretinal detachment (SRD) showed specific ring-shaped hyper-fluorescence in FAF matching up with the border of the SRD, and five eyes with photoreceptor OS elongation within SRD showed a granular type of hyper-fluorescence within the ring-shaped hyper-fluorescence in FAF. CONCLUSIONS: In chronic CSCR, we found that RPE humps, the lesion IS/OS junction defect, the border of SRD, photoreceptor OS elongation in SD-OCT correlate with hyper-fluorescence lesions in FAF. The areas of the autofluorescence changes in the FAF images are associated with the extent of change in the RPE and outer retina.
