Objective To study the feasibility of TCI etomidate for total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). Methods Forty patients scheduled for abdominal operation were divided into two groups with 20 cases each. Anesthesia in group E was induced and maintained with TCI etomidate 1-2 μg/ml and remifentanil 6 ng/ml,which in group P with TCI propofol 2-4 μg/ml and remifentanil 6 ng/ml to keep BIS 40-60. The perioperative changes of plasma glucose, cortisol, aldosterone and ACTH were Observed. Recovery from anethesia was recorded as well Results Both groups had the stabilized hemodynamics and glucose concentration. The plasma cortisol and ACTH concentrations in group E were decreased at the end of operation(P<0.05), but returned to preoperative level on the next day, which were not significantly changed perioperatively in group P. The time of eye opening was longer in group E than that in group P. Conclusion Etomidate has an inhibition on the function of the adrenal cortex temporally and can be used safely togather with remifentanil for TIVA in patients without hypoadrenocorticism.

Objective To observe the protective effect of α-lipoic acid (LA) pretreatment on hypoxia/reoxyg-enation injury in vascular endothelial cells and preliminary explore its mechanism. Methods HUVEC were cultured intro and devided into control group,hypoxia/reoxygenation model group and LA group. Cell morphology was observed under inverted phase contrast microscope, cell viability was detected by MTT,total antioxidant capacity (TAOC),nitric oxide(NO),malondialdehyde (MDA),superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity or level were measured by various commercial kits respectively. Apoptosis of HUVEC in each group were detected by flow cytometry , cleaved caspase-3 level was measured by western blot. Results As compared to control group, the survival rate, TAOC, SOD, NO activity were significantly lower(P<0.05), and MDA level, apoptosis rate and apoptosis protein levels were significantly higher (P < 0.05) in model group. However,LA can increase the survival rate,TAOC, SOD,NO activity (P < 0.05),reduce MDA level and cell apoptosis (P < 0.05)in a dose dependent manner. Conclusion LA pretreatments provide protection against hypoxia/reoxygenation injury in HUVEC. LA exerts protective effects through inhibition of HUVEC apoptosis.

Ojective To observe the effects of lifestyle intervention associated with Metformin on the blood biochemical index,C reactive protein(CRP) and interleukin-6(IL-6) in the aged people with metabolic syndrome(MS).Mtthods Fifty-nine old patients with MS were randomly divided into lifestyle intervention group(n=29) and lifestyle intervention associated with Metformin group(n=30).The index of body mass index(BMI) and blood pressure(BP),the levels of fasting blood sugar(FBS),triacylglycerol(TG),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),fasting insulin(FINS),serum C-reactive protein(CRP) and interleukin-6(IL-6) were detected before and after the treatment.Result The levels of systolic blood pressure(SBP),BMI,FBS,TG,CRP,IL-6 and the homeostasis assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR) were significantly lower in the lifestyle intervention associated with Metformin group than those of the lifestyle intervention group(P

Chinese Medical Ethics 1995;0(02):-
The ideological and political workers in hospitals are organizers and executors of the hospitals'moral construction. The changeability and plasticity of the moral personality of them make it possible to found their moral personalities. The function of the moral personalities of ideological and political workers in hospitals and the practical need for the structure of hospital's morality show clearly that it is necessary to found their moral personalityes.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(01):-
Objective To investigate the changes of WBC count and free fatty acids (FFAs) level in diabetic patients with angiopathy, and explore the role of WBC and FFAs in the pathogenesis of diabetic angiopathy. Methods The number of WBC and the concentration of FFAs were determined in 22 diabetic patients without angiopathy, 38 diabetic patients with angiopathy and 20 healthy subjects. Results Both WBC count and FFAs concentration in the diabetic patients were obviously higher than those in healthy subjects (P

Objective To investigate the relationship between p38MAPK and PPAR-?,and to study the role of p38MAPK and PPAR-? for diabetic nephropathy. Methods The expression of p38MAPK protein and PPAR-? mRNA was investigated in rat mesangial cells line HBZY-1 that was incubated respectively with 25 mmol/L glucose,100 nmol/L insulin,100 ?mol/L H_2O_2 and 100 mg/L AGEs. The relationship between p38MAPK and PPAR-? expression was studied by using SB203580,a specific inhibitor of p38MAPK. Results p38MAPK had significantly higher expression, while the expression of PPAR-? was significantly decreased in rat mesangial cells line HBZY-1 incubated with 25 mmol/L glucose,100 nmol/L insulin,100 ?mol/L H_ 2 O_ 2 and 100 mg/L AGEs respectively. PPAR-? activity was significantly reduced when p38MAPK was inhibited by SB203580. Conclusion p38MAPK is involved in development of diabetic nephropathy and may antagonize the expression of PPAR-?. PPAR-? activity might protect the function of kidney.

Objective To explore surgical methods and their efficacy for post-traumatic Made-lung deformity complicated with dorsal or volar angulation in the adults. Methods Volar plate or exter-nal fixator, combined with the techniques osteotomy and bone grafting, were selected to treat adult pa-tients with post-traumatic Madelung deformity complicated with dorsal or volar angulation. The effects were preliminarily evaluated through comparing the volar tilting angle, ulnar inclination, radial shortening and the range of joint motion before and after the operation. Results All the patients were followed up for 6-27 months (mean 16 months). The volar tilting angle, radial inclination, radial shortening, range of joint motion of all patients were improved significantly (P<0.05). Conclusions For patients with Madelung deformity complicated with dorsal angulation, internal fixation of volar plate combined with volar osteotomy and bone grafting is recommended; while dynamic eternal fixator combined with combined with dorsal osteotomy and bone grafting is an ideal choice for patients with Madelung deformity complicated with volar angulation.
