1.FURTHER OBSERVATION OF THE NUTRITIVE VALUE OF WHOLE RICE AND WHOLE WHEAT IN REGARD TO THE GROWTH OF YOUNG ALBINO RATS
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(04):-
Observation on the effect of whole rice and whole wheat as sole food on the growth of young rats are furtherly made. The results showed that both whole rice and whole wheat showed no significant difference in the growth of young albino rats, but the difference between the rice group and rice plus leafy vegetable and egg group and that between the wheat group and wheat plus leafy vegetable and egg group are highly significant. Addition, of small amount of vegetable and egg alternatively as supplementary food significantly enhanced the nutritive value, in terms of growth effect, of both whole rice and whole wheat.
2.Advances in research on relationship between Hedgehog signal pathway and gastroenteric tumor
China Oncology 2006;0(11):-
Hedgehog(HH),a vital endodermal signal, plays a critical role in the embryonic development of the GI system.During mammalian embryonic development, deficiency of HH signaling leads to gastrointestinal malformations.Nevertheless, normal presence of HH family is also found in the adult gut,and HH signaling now may be important for homeostasis of the gut in such a case. However, many researches revealed that the HH signal's involved in gastrointestinal carcinogenesis and its role is altered in various tumors due to various mechanisms. This review focused on the progress of HH signal pathway in gastrointestinal tumors.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1994;0(04):-
Cough is one of common respiratory symptoms in pediatric pulmonology. But there′s no practical pediatric guideline for diagnosis and management in particular an evidence-based one. This article introduces American College of Chest Physicians(ACCP) evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for evaluation chronic cough in pediatrics from which can be borrowed ideas. The introduction of ACCP guidelines for evaluation chronic cough in pediatric provided modified naming to previous diseases, discussed etiology of cough caused by different diseases and drew detailed flow charts for chronic cough diagnosis and management.

Objective To evaluate the role of cyclic adenosine monophosphate-protein kinase A (cAMP-PKA) signal transduction pathway in lidocaine-induced up-regulation of the expression of surfactant protein-A (SP-A) in rat alveolar epithelial type Ⅱ cells (AEC Ⅱ).Methods Healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were sacrificed and AEC Ⅱ were isolated, purified and incubated in 24-well culture plates (100μd/hole) with density of 1 × 106/ml.After being incubated for 2 h,the culture medium was replaced with serum-free medium DMEM.The cells were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =48 each):control group (group C),forskolin (adenylate cyclase agonist) group (group F),lidocaine 200 μg/ml group (group L),and PKA inhibitor H89 + L group (group P+ L).Forskolin 10 μmol/ml was added to DMEM in group F.Lidocaine 200 μg/ml was added to DMEM in group L.H89 10μnol/ ml was added to DMEM and AEC Ⅱ were incubated for 10 min,and then lidocaine 200 μg/ml was added in group P + L.At 6,12 and 24 h of incubation (T1-3),cAMP content and PKA activity (using ELISA),and expression of SP-A mRNA (by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR) and SP-A (by Western blot) were measured. Results Compared with group C,the expression of SP-A mRNA and SP-A was significantly upregulated, and cAMP level and PKA activity were increased at T1-3 in group F and at T2,3 in group L.Compared with group L,the expression of SP-A and SP-A mRNA was down-regulated,PKA activity was decreased, and no significant change was found in cAMP level at T1-3 in group P + L.Conclusion Lidocaine can up-regulate the expression of SP-A in AEC Ⅱ of rats through activating cAMP-PKA signal transduction pathway.
6.Advances in Effects of Hormones on Metabolites formation for Plant Cell Suspension Culture
China Biotechnology 2006;0(06):-
Hormones are the main materials which regulate the plant growth and the secondary metabolites formation of plant. The effects of hormones on cell biomass and metabolites content and the application progress of honrmones in plant cell suspension culture is reviewed. It covers the influence of exogenous hormones’ categories, concentration and proportion on cell biomass and metabolites content in plant cell suspension culture, the developmental course of the endogenous hormones determination, the changes of endogenous hormones content and its effects on the cell biomass and metabolites content, the relation of interaction between exogenous hormones and endogenous hormones, the study on the effect of new hormone varieties on the culture.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2021;23(4):630-634
Guided by aim of improving the survival rate of the injuries, damage control surgery (DCS) have undergone developments from simple gauze packing to planned resuscitation and reoperation for nearly a century, which leads to a great improvement in the treatments. In recent years, the concept of DCS has been more and more widely accepted and applied in many fields other than abdominal trauma. Besides, the technologies have been constantly standardized and the procedures have been more scientific. At the same time, some remarkable progress has been made in the research of DCS, such as new concepts of damage control resuscitation, permissive hypotension, and new technologies such as resuscitative balloon aortic occlusion and hybrid emergency surgery system.

Objective: To study the factors effecting the expression of the reporter green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene in the mouse embryo stem cell line R1. Methods: Three different kinds of GFP euko-expression vectors were constructed, and the expression efficiency was contrasted both at mRNA and protein levels after they were integrated into the chromosomes of host cells. Results: At protein level, the GFP expression level of the colonies transfected by the expression vector-pEF-GFP with the promoter of the peptide elongation factor (EF) were significantly higher than that of the colonies transfected by pCMV-GFP with CMV promoter and by pdCMV-GFP with double copies of CMV-GFP expression unit. There was no significant difference between the colonies transfected by pCMV-GFP and pdCMV-GFP. The detection results on mRNA level of GFP had the same tendency as that at protein level. Conclusion: (1) GFP gene expression efficiency controlled by EF promoter is distinctly higher than that by CMV promoter in NIH3T3 and R1 ES cell line.(2) A slight increase of the copy number of the foreign gene expression units in the host chromosome can not make obvious increase of its expression efficiency. (3) The vector express GFP in R1 ES cell line efficiently and stablely is obtained.

Objective To observe the effect and safety of pleural effusion treated by closed thoracic drainage with micro-catheter. Methods A total of 64 cases with pleural effusion were randomly divided into conventional therapy group ( control group ) and closed thoracic drainage with micro-catheter group ( treatment group) , each group including( 32 cases ). Control group were treated with drainage of thoracic puncture interruptedly while treatment group treated by closed thoracic drainage with micro-catheter. Results Both two therapeutic methods could reduce pleural effusion, but obvious effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group( P < 0.05 ). Meanwhile, the rate of pleural reaction and treatment cost in treatment group were lower than that in control group. Conclusion Closed thoracic drainage with micro-catheter was effective, lower treatment cost and lower complications. Moreover, it could reduce medical risk.
