Objective To compare the outcomes of homeopathic bidirectional-traction reduction device and traction table in surgical treatment of femoral intertrochanteric fractures. Methods A retrospective case control study was made on 94 cases of femoral intertrochanteric fractures treated from July 2015 to December 2015.There were 26 males and 68 females, aged 60-75 years.According to the Evans classification, the fractures were type Ⅱ in 24 cases, type Ⅲ in 32 and type Ⅳ in 38.Fifty-seven cases sustained chronic diseases.According to the random number table, the subjects were assigned to receive homeopathic bidirectional-traction reduction (homeopathic reduction group,48 cases) and traction table reduction (control group,46 cases). All fractures were fixed with proximal femoral nail antirotation.Operation time, reduction time, tluoroscopy time, blood loss and rate of closed reduced cases were recorded.Fracture union and rotation of the affected femur to the tibia were detected after operation.Functional outcome was evaluated using the Harris score at the final follow-up.Results All fractures were reduced closely in homeopathic reduction group, while 15 fractures in control group were reduced via a small-incision anterior approach.Operation time, reduction time and fluoroscopy time in homeopathic reduction group were (62.9 ± 12.1) min,(6.8 ± 1.5) min and (11.3 ± 5.6) s respectively, significantly less than the corresponding data in control group (all P < 0.05).One month after operation, rotation of the affected femur to the tibia was (2.8 ± 1.2) ° in homeopathic reduction group, significantly less than that in control group [(11.5 ± 4.7) °] (P < 0.05).Bone union was observed in all cases. At the final follow-up,Harris hip score was (92.6 ± 7.6)points in homeopathic reduction group, significantly higher than that in control group [(87.3 ± 6.5) points] (P < 0.05).Conclusion For the elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures, homeopathic bidirectional-traction device has advantages of high rate of closed reduction, shorter operation time, less radiological exposure and satisfactory function recovery of the affected hip joint.

Objective To explore the relationship of c-fos protein and cell apoptosis by observing the expression of c-fos protein in hippocampus of newborn rat with hypoxic-ischemic brain damage(HIBD).Methods Forty-eight 7-day SD neonatal rats were randomly divided into control group(n=6) and experiment group(n=42).The models of HIBD were established in neonatal rats by inhaling the mixed gases of 920 mL/L N2 and 80 mL/L O2,and the animals were sacrificed by dislocation their heads at different time points(0.5,1,3,6,12,24,48,72 h),then the hippocampus were dissected by morphological analysis. Results The apoptotic cells appeared at the time point of 3 h,and reached the peak at 48 h,then decreased. The positive cell of c-fos protein increased from the time point of 30 min and reached the peak at 2 h and then decreased gradually, and there was a contrary tendency between the expression of c-fos protein and the number of damaged brain cells by HIBD(r=-0.57 P

Objective To observe the effect of using Ambroxol hydrochloride(AM)to wash respiratory way to treat neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(NRDS) in ventilator,to explore dynamic changes of respiratory mechanics after using AM to wash respiratory way. Methods Thirty premature infants were chosen according with diagnosis criterion, which were randomly divided into 2 groups: NS group(n=15);AM group(n=15).Both NS and AM groups were treated with Babylog 8 000 ventilator, and routine treating and nursing,NS group was given for washing respiratory way in NS group, whereas AM was done in AM group.Pulmonary compliance(C),time constant(Tc),respiratory resis-tance(R),C20/C and minute volume(MV)were observed in both groups.Blood gas was routinely checked after 1 h ventilation treatment, and X ray was shot after 24 h.Results Pulmonary C significantly increased in weaning than that of beginning ventilation(P0.05),MV significantly increased in group AM than NS,respectively[(0.56?0.12) L/min and(0.35?0.11) L/min(P0.05).But ventilator-treating-time was markedly shorter in group AM than NS,respectively(60.52?6.23) h and(98.21?5.82) h(P

Objective To investigate the meaning of PURA gene and its protein in nephridial tissue of the rats with endemic fluorosis of coal burning. Methods Thirty-six SD rats of 80 - 100 g, body weight were randomly divided into control group, low fluorosis group and high fluorosis group according to body weight, 12 in each group, the number of female and male in each group was the same respectively. The control group, Low fluorosis group and high fluorosis group rots were fed with 1.5,25.0,60.0 mg/kg fluoride content in feedstuff, to establish the animal model of fluorosis. Expressions of both mRNA and its protein of PURA gene in rat nephridium tissue, were determined by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry after four-month experimental period. Results The expressions of PURA mRNA[(2.74± 1.06),(4.29 ± 2.11)] and its protein[ (28 827.91 ± 4801.94),(61 146.96 ± 4997.55)] in low fluorosis group and high fluorosis group was higher than that in the control group[ ( 1.13 ± 0.87), (7131.95 ± 1524.54), all P < 0.05]. And the expressions of PURA mRNA and protein in high fluorosis groups was higher than that in low fluorosis greup(all P < 0.05). Conclusion High fluoride can lead to the high expression of PURA gene mRNA and protein in the rat nephridium tissue exposed to sodium fluoride.

Mini health technology assessment (Mini-HTA) was developed from traditional HTA,based on the hospital needs. It is a very important decision making method and reference tool for the hospital policy makers.Currently there is no report of using Mini-HTA ease on introducing new equipment in China.Present paper introduces the Mini-HTA to provide reference for others hospitals in China.

It is a trend that innovate the traditional bilingual education model and select a new teaching model.Code-switching is a lingual phenomenon when a passages or articles are expressed with two or more language. To guarantee effect of bilingual education and improve education quality, penetration bilingual education was applied during microbiology teaching.Professional English vocabulary, words, passages or articles were introduced to students timely and by measure by the way of language code-switching.The results showed that bilingual teaching mode with language code-switching inspire study emotion and self-confidence of English expression from students.

Korean Journal of Medical Education 2016;28(1):49-55
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among academic self-efficacy, socially-prescribed perfectionism, and academic burnout in medical school students and to determine whether academic self-efficacy had a mediating role in the relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout. METHODS: A total of 244 first-year and second-year premed medical students and first- to fourth-year medical students were enrolled in this study. As study tools, socially-prescribed perfectionism, academic self-efficacy, and academic burnout scales were utilized. For data analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were conducted. RESULTS: Academic burnout had correlation with socially-prescribed perfectionism. It had negative correlation with academic self-efficacy. Socially-prescribed perfectionism and academic self-efficacy had 54% explanatory power for academic burnout. When socially-prescribed perfectionism and academic self-efficacy were simultaneously used as input, academic self-efficacy partially mediated the relationship between socially-prescribed perfectionism and academic burnout. CONCLUSION: Socially-prescribed perfectionism had a negative effect on academic self-efficacy, ultimately triggering academic burnout. This suggests that it is important to have educational and counseling interventions to improve academic self-efficacy by relieving academic burnout of medical school students.
