BACKGROUND: The internet is a growing source of information for patients, with increasing numbers of people searching for health information on the web. Patients with acne attempt to search for medical information from the internet. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study is to investigate the current information of acne on the internet. METHODS: We chose the largest portal sites to investigate the current information of acne and search for 'acne'. RESULTS: 5.3% of the information provided by question-and-answer platform were written by dermatologist. 0.7% of the information provided by personal blog were written by dermatologist. 1.4% of the information provided by internet message board were written by dermatologist. Overall, only 2.4% of the information were written by dermatologist for provide the medical information. CONCLUSION: The internet provides a great deal of information in many types of resources. However, the quality of information has been more of a concern. Dermatologists should continue to counteract inaccurate information by providing quality information on the internet. Dermatologists should be more aware of the health-related online information and should guide patients to take the accurate information.

PURPOSE: This study was conducted to review the curriculum and license examination of physical therapists in the United States. METHODS: The doctor of physical therapy (DPT) curriculum was evaluated by a review Course Work Tool version 6 (CWT6) data and current physical therapy licensure examination (National Physical Therapy Exam, NPTE) category in the United States. RESULTS: The results indicated that they were required to meet the doctor of physical therapist degree based on ‘Guide to Physical Therapist Practice’ of American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). This includes general education in the areas of communications and humanities, physical science, biological science, social and behavioral science, and mathematics. A minimum of one course must be completed successfully in each area of general education. Moreover, there should be at least 68 didactic credits of professional education and 22 clinical education credits, which is a minimum of two full-time clinical internships with no less than 1050 hours in total, which were supervised by a physical therapist. Regarding the physical therapy licensure examination, National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE, 2016) consisted of a physical therapy examination (26.5%), evaluation, differential diagnosis, baseline of prognosis (32.5%), intervention (28.5%), protection, responsibility, and research (6.5%) based on the ‘Guide to Physical Therapist Practice’. CONCLUSION: Based on the study results provided above, it is considered a standard to meet domestic reality as the Guide to Physical Therapist Practice of APTA for South Korean physical therapists.

Background: Stasis dermatitis is an inflammatory skin disease that occurs in the lower legs of patients with chronic venous insufficiency; however, data on combined vascular disease and stasis dermatitis are limited. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical features of patients with stasis dermatitis and combined vascular diseases. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical features and combined vascular diseases of 37 patients clinically diagnosed with stasis dermatitis who visited the dermatology department from January 2017 to December 2020. Results: The average age of occurrence was 59.5 years, and the average duration of the disease was 3.2 years. Stasis dermatitis was more likely to occur in women than in men and more often in both lower legs. The major clinical features were erythematous patches. Asymptomatic symptoms were most common, followed by itching and tenderness. To evaluate vascular diseases, ultrasonography, venography computed tomography (CT), and angiography CT were performed. The most common combined vascular diseases were deep vein thrombosis, followed by varicose vein and thrombophlebitis. Most cases were treated with topical steroids and antihistamines, and anticoagulants/ antiplatelet agents were used to treat vascular diseases. Conclusion Stasis dermatitis is mainly associated with venous dysfunction in the lower legs. Early diagnosis and fundamental treatment of combined vascular diseases by evaluating vascular function in patients suspected of stasis dermatitis are important. This study will provide dermatologists with significant data on the clinical features of stasis dermatitis and combined vascular diseases.
