The 447 cases of skin tumors were studied at the departments of dermatology and surgical pathology, National Medical Center in Seoul during the period of 18 years and 8 months from January, 1959 to August, 1977. The results were as follows: 1) the total number of specimens surveyed in the study was 447, among which benign tumors accoungted for 234 cases and malignant tumors for 213. 2) Male to female ratio for benign tumors was 1.2:1 and for malignant tumors 2.2:1. 3) Among the 234 cases of benign tumors, 67 cases were epidermal cyst. 53 cases of hemangioma and 34 cases of pigmented neni. 4) Among the 2 cases of malignant melanoma. 5) The peak age incidence for benign tumors were below the 2nd decade, The peak ago incidence for malignant tumors were 50th decade. 6) the sites of predilection of the epidermal cysts were trunk, face and neck. The sites of predilection of the hemangiomas and pigmented nevi were face. 7) The sites of peredilection of the squamaous cell carcinomas were penis(27.1%), lower extremities(25.7%) and face(21.5%) The sites of predilection of the basal cell carcinomas were face(83.3%) 8) The ratio of squamous cell carcinoma ws basal cell careinoma was 4:1. 9) The accuracy of clinical dianosis were 42.7% for benign tumors and 79.3% for malignant tumors.

Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a predictive model for happiness of students in general high schools.The study was based on the theory of happiness integration and the literature review. Methods: Data were collected using a convenience sample of 231 first and second grade students in five general high schools in D city and K Province. The exogenous variables were optimism as personality factors, parenting attitude, academic stress and friend’s support as happiness. The endogenous variables were self-esteem and resilience as mediating variables, and happiness of students in general high schools. Data collection was done from March 14 to March 28, 2019. The AMOS 22.0 and SPSS programs were used to verify the validity of confirmatory factor analysis and hypothesis models. Results: The factors that have the greatest influence on happiness of high school students are self-esteem and resilience. The explanatory power of happiness by these variables was 98.1%. The individual mediating effect and double mediation effect of these variables were found to be significant. Conclusion As student's optimistic personality, parent's positive parenting attitude, and friend’s support improve student's self-esteem and resilience, ultimately positively affecting high school students' happiness, so it is necessary to consider these factors and try to develop a happiness improvement program.

PURPOSE: This purpose of this study was to identify the level of safe-handling of cytotoxic drugs and use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) among nurses at a regional cancer center in South Korea. METHODS: This was a cross-sectional descriptive study. The participants were 131 nurses who care for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Demographic information, safe-handling of cytotoxic drugs and use of PPE were collected using questionnaires from May 7 to 25, 2018. RESULTS: Response rate was 98.4%. The mean age of the nurses was 28.2±4.4 years and their clinical nursing experience was 4.34±3.93 years. The mean scores out of 5 for the participants' safe handling of cytotoxic drugs was 3.73± 0.43. In use of PPE, the mean score of wearing gloves, masks, and gowns were 3.89±.77, 3.06±1.04, and 2.34±0.98, respectively. The main reason for not wearing PPE was ‘too busy’ (62.8%). The level of safe-handling of cytotoxic drugs was not significantly different according to any variables, but the use of PPE was significantly different according to age (p=.021). CONCLUSION: The findings showed that nurses had exposure to cytotoxic drugs in the processes of preparation, administration, cleaning of spills, and handling of patient waste. Education programs and continuous monitoring are needed to improve the use of PPE among nurses and trigger the appropriate motivation for consistent personal protection.

The task for chromosome karyotyping and diagnosis is requiring repetitive, time consuming job and high cost even it is done by well-experienced cytogenetists. Therefore an web based chromosome karyotyping instruction system has been established to be able to analyze chromosomes and obtain necessary advises from the database instead of human experts and the database is including 2 divisions with database and agent.For the first of all, database model was constructed with relational database consisting of Patient_DB, image_DB, Disease_DB and Manage_DB. As the second procedure, knowledge base by IF THEN production rule was implemented to a knowledge domain with normal and abnormal chromosomes. For the last, independent agent with the inference by knowledge base could enter the inference data into the database.Experimental data were composed of normal chromosomes of 2,736 patients' cases and abnormal chromosomes of 259 patients' cases that have been obtained from GTG-banding metaphase peripheral blood and amniotic fluid samples.The completed system provides variously morphological information by analysis of normal or abnormal chromosomes and it also makes users enable to control and search the information in a short period with learning of high amount of knowledge.

OBJECTIVE: To examine the nerve supply of external anal sphinctor muscle which contributes for the anal or urinary continence. METHOD: In the present study, sacral arc reflex was examined by an electrical stimulation of the penile shaft and recording of the compound muscle action potential from the external anal sphincter muscle with surface electrode, and pudendal nerve conduction was done by using a magnetic stimulation of proximal and distal cauda equina and recording from the external anal sphincter muscle. RESULTS: The results showed that the mean sacral arc reflex latency was 36.88+/-3.59 msec, and mean amplitude was 223+/-51.86 V with an electrical stimualtion. The mean latency by a magnetic stimulation of the proximal cauda equina was 6.34+/-1.29 msec, and the mean amplitude was 138+/-56 V. The mean latency by a magnetic stimualtion of the distal cauda equina was 3.67+/-0.44 msec, mean amplitude was 534+/-380 V. CONCLUSION: The pudendal nerve conduction study using a magnetic stimulation is a useful evaluation tool for the fecal incontinence of peripheral type, and neurogenic bladder.

Background: The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing nurses' perception of just culture, and to provide basic data for the establishment of just culture. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted from April 8, 2020 to April 23, 2020 for 168 nurses at hospital in Seoul. The research tools were Petschonek’s JCAT, modified by the researchers and Korean version of practice environment scale of nursing work index (K-PES-NWI). Results: The average age of the participants was 30.5 years, and total clinical career was 7.10 years. The perception of nursing work environment and just culture perception were 2.91±0.50 out of 5 and 4.91±0.72 out of 7, respectively. Through regression analysis with 33.0% of accountability, it was found that the perception of just culture was associated with nursing work environment (β=0.726, P<0.001). Conclusions Study findings suggest that intervention for the improvement of nursing work environment can be effective to increase the perception of just culture, additionally, the program to improve just culture perception should be developed and applied, and verify its effectiveness.
